I think what bothers me the most is not that Elphaba struggles with her hygiene and self care but more that she’s portraying it in a way of not caring. Elphaba blatantly being gross for views and appearing to not see it as an issue further perpetuates the idea that all people “choose to be that way” when some people are genuinely struggling with mental health issues etc in silence due to being so ashamed or feeling misunderstood.

I totally agree when people switch up from being nice and saying someone’s beautiful to that person sucks and she’s also ugly. Like you can point out how theyre a bad person without putting down their appearance and unintentionally other people who have those same attributes

I had worms as a baby (grew up in Africa so probs picked them up there), my mum says I was completely unbothered by them but she was freaking out (especially when one came out my nose apparently lol).
