Sir Elton John has been the soundtrack of my entire life since 1972. Always ahead at his time, he's still standing after all this time, don't you agree?

I've notice that since he started in 1969, every two years his voice and proununciation seem to gradually change. He had a very high falsetto voice from 1969 to 1977, which he lowered in 1978 (I think off the advice of Thom Bell) which gradually lowered until he destroyed his vocal chords (probably Cocaine being a contributing factor) thus having to have surgery in late 1986, which turned him into a low tenor. His voice has lowered more and now sings in a high baritone. He has taken most of his old songs down in Key as well in order to sing them.

It was a very interesting high tenor that lifestyle and improper singing damaged. That 69 to 75 voice is angelic.

he smoked a blunt before every show hence getting vocal nodules the improvement in his technique in 78 helped him sound better on his songs just check out any show in 1979. and he sings most of his songs in original key. only songs he has lowered the key of is someone saved my life tonight and goodbye yellow brick road. it sounds like he has lowered the key because the pitch of his voice is so much more low now.

@@krisscanlon4051 he sounded terrible live in 75 check out san diego or even dodgers 75 and see how flat his voice is. his vocal technique was much better in the late 70s and to me his peak voice was 1979-1985 and post surgery it was 1988 to 2001. he kept sounding good in years like 2014-2015, 2017 and now in 2022 due to the big rest he got in lockdown.
