@John O that is great. I am happy for you that this song saved your life literally. I know where you're coming from I almost put a knife in my chest about 9 years ago. You keep strong and stay focussed on yourself and your family
Finally! One of the biggest solo artists of the 70's. And beyond. He had over 50 top 40 hits in his long career. Please try Crocodile Rock, Tiny Dancer and Border Song. Too many hits to mention and many of his album cuts rivaled his hits! A true superstar! Please do much more Elton John!
@@Coolrockndad lmfao! You asked a question and I answered it. YOU: "Who doesn't like Elton John?" ME: Me. See how that works? You didn't ask why I can't stand him, did you? If you don't want an answer, don't ask the question.
If you've ever watched "Dancing With the Stars" you might recognize someone. The lead dancer... the dude in the S&M/Biker leather, the doorman being showered with gold...that is Bruno Tonioli. One of the judges on DWTS.
I forgot just how high energy this song is! 1983 was so long ago. I was a young kid then and remember this on heavy rotation on Mtv and the radio. It's great!
You should do more Elton John! He had so many great songs. Like Your Song, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Daniel, The Bitch Is Back, I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues, Empty Garden and many more...
I love Empty Garden and The One There are so many great songs that he has done Bernie Taupin has been collaborating with Sir Elton for 50 years or so Bernie usually writes the lyrics and sends it to Elton and Elton composes the music around the lyrics It's fascinating that they have been doing it and they work separate if each other I mean Bernie will do the lyrics and send them to Elton in the mail and then Elton works on adding music
Carol Butler all those songs are fantastic you listed. I forgot about Empty Garden how can I forget about that song it's such a beautiful song. I think she should react to empty Garden
The dancer in the leather cap and leotard is Bruno Toniolli who is one of the judges on Dancing With The Stars and the British version Strictly Come Dancing.
Elton really did surprise people when that song came out...he was to the point of being considered washed up by a lot of people...music was changing, the fans were younger that listened to popular music...and so yeah, he got right in there and made another generation of fans when that music video came out and the song...which was right in line with popular music back then. Elton has a way of keeping his music fresh. If you ever get a chance to listen to one of his other songs, I really would like to suggest HARMONY....it's a pretty soft rock ballad...about a girl coming back to her lover....with both knowing they are both right and not so right for each other.
My grandpa always listened to "Sad Songs" and "Nikita" on the tape deck in the Camaro, so those songs are really dear to me. My mom had a 45 of "Crocodile Rock" so that one is also one of my favourites. There's so many great Elton songs though.
My first favorite of his . . . Many years of listening tho. Did you notice a familiar face among the dancers? Bruno Tonioli of Dancing with the Stars. So cool to see him in action!
Seen him live about 15 times at least. His shows were always killer. Such an artist and performer. His catalog is extensive. There isn't a video to this song, but if you really want to treat yourself, give a listen to Funeral for a Friend/Love lies Bleeding and think about the fact that this guy hears this stuff in his head. Scary talent.
Elton John "The One," released in 1992, is probably one of my favorite songs by him. And one I almost never hear anywhere. Totally underrated, beautiful song!
@@taoist32 Hmmm I'm not sure I agree. It was unusual, for sure, but it still had that Elton John flavor that I love so much. he definitely got more poetic with that song though. ♥
My 21 yr old son saw the Elton John movie and called me afterwards just to say he remembered watching this Elton John video with me when he was little.
Do you watch Dancing With the Stars? Bruno Taniolli one of the judges on that show pretty much stars in this video. He is the guy in very skimpy black throughout most of it. The guy leaning against the column who Elton puts the gold glitter in his hand is Bruno. I believe he may have helped choreograph it also. And as for Elton songs may I suggest Mona Lisa's and Mad Hatters , Tiny Dancer, and Levon.
@@asherdash12 so young. I didn't realize he was in it until he mention on DWTS like the second season he said " When I was in the south of France with Elton I looked up the video. You can so see him if you know it's him.
Elton did a great duet with Mary J Blige, a song called "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues". They both sound great, but her voice is next level. 😘
Here's an interesting piece of trivia. It's the beginning of the song the first time you see the dancers. The guy in the black women's swimsuit basically in the black hat is actually Bruno from Dancing With the Stars. He's a judge as he used to be a dancer
India...fun fact. Did you know that Bruno Tonioli from Dancing with the Stars was the lead male dancer? I have always loved this video, and I will always love Elton.
Elton John is amazing - so many types og music, som many feelings. "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" is still one of the greatest albums ever. "Sacrifice" from 1989 is also a winner
Absolutely love Elton John, try"tiny dancer","Mona Lisas and mad hatters","Levon","rocket man","burn down the mission","bitch is back",so many great songs more Elton please ☮️
My favorite singer back in the day! My daughter almost got named "Harmony" after one of his songs. She thanks me all the time that we didn't give her "that hippie name". Ha ha! (She's 39 now)
You should listen to "Skyline Pigeon" (the piano version, which is on the "Don't Soot Me I'm Only the Piano Player" album) by Elton John. It's a beautiful song...Elton played it at Ryan White's funeral.
The Ten Music videos that are a must for anyone doing reactions or surveying American Music for the first time. 1 American Triology - Elvis, 2.) Stairway to Heaven - Cover by Heart 3.) I highly recommend Sugar on the Floor. It is definitely not one of his most popular songs and is actually a cover of a Kiki Dee song (also covered by Etta James)
It was a mega hit, that was a gorgeous album, haven't listened to it in a while,."Blue Eyes", is absolutely beautiful song, and his version of the Beatles "Lucy in The Sky With Diamonds ", magical, I like his version better, has more otherworldly sound, sense. MTV played this video ALL THE TIME, I loved the video, seeing Elton dance a little, and at the end showing off the many wild glasses he wore,(he made glassed even cooler, more than other performers like Buddy Holly, Elvis Costello,), only other cool glass wearer Jeff Lynde from ELO, course are sunglasses 😉, the video fit Elton,.he's always been a showman, and that shone through with all the painted people, acrobatics, the uplifting energy of the music and the lyrics, he went beyond Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive ", He was like I'm not just surviving, I'm thriving, I'm blowing up and revamping like a Phoenix, from the ashes. I dont know why he wrote this song, but like Bowie, Elton seem to be reinventing, he'd already been in the business almost 20 years by the time he made this, maybe more. Do check out more of him, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, awesome writing, Funeral for a Friend, Benny and The Jets, Social Disease, All the Girls Love Alice, Saturday Night's Alright, , his other album, Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, (wow a mouthful), don't know why he gave it such a long title, anyway, good songs, Tower of Babel , Bitter Fingers, Gotta get a Meal Ticket, Dont let the Sun Go Down,, , great album, Elton and Bernie Taupin, are a brilliant duo, then there's his work on movie Tommy with The Who, Tommy was ohh God a masterpiece ROCK OPERA!!!, only other one better than Qudraphenia, also done by The Who, "feel me, feel me, touch me", lol been so long forgot the lyrics, just check it out!!!, Peace ✌, enjoy!
70s Eltohn John is completely amazing! 80s Elton still has moments of greatness. Since doing the music for The Lion King, he's become too 'Disneyfied' for my liking. Overall? One of the greatest artists in the history of music! Undoubtedly! :)
React to more Elton John!! React to the songs Bennie and The Jets, Rocket Man, Tiny Dancer, Candle In The Wind...there’s so many good ones from Elton!❤️
