I was there the day Elvis was getting of the Monorail. We were getting off of one, and Elvis was about to board the other. I was 11 years old, and with my Mom and Dad. I remember him very well, as he stood of the monorail platform looking down and speaking to the crowd. My Dad took two photos of him. What a great time. Thank you for the video.

I was there. Watched him & Yvonne Craig coming off the Monorail. Filming stopped for a few minutes & he walked over to a black railing & began giving autographs to my right. I was alone to the left. He came to me & asked if I wanted an autograph. I was 14, had no purse, paper or pen. He reached into his pocket signed a card & reaching down to hand it to me a police officer stopped him & said they were ready to start filming again. He was in the brown jacket & black pants. Never saw that in the movie & he was in a blue/gray suit on the monorail. Years latter in Palm Springs my mother met him several times in the beauty shop she worked in. I’ll never forget that moment 😊

I was 5 years old at the time and living in Fort Lewis. According to your filming dates they were still there during the Columbus day storm. I wonder how they managed through that. I remember Pine trees 5 foot in diameter being toppled. Weird to see the huge roots out of the ground.

Is there any way to get a copy of this complete video WITHOUT the constant horizontal wavy lines that periodically Mars an otherwise wonderful preserved time capsule of Elvis, the early sixties and the Seattle World’s Fair?

It's very hard to get any outtakes from Elvis films. And yet he made 33 of them. Imagine if this was today or even the 80. What they do have is usually poor quality and sound. If any sound at all.

Parker was a con man. He would later make Elvis tour harder than anyone else.

Not really as Elvis never toured much after 1956. Towards the end he did a few weeks at a time in Vegas and had 6 weeks vacation. He died on vacation he'd been at home for 6 week's when he died. Nobody dies age 42 from hard work after not working for 6 weeks.. His death was his lifestyle.. Parker got 25% up until around 1966 by 1966 Elvis's hit records had dried up and he only had the movies plus his 33% songwriting royalties from his own publishing house. Yes Elvis co-wrote dozens of songs, well he didn't but he got paid as a song writer, because he wouldn't sing other people's songs unless he got a big cut of the song writing royalties.. Elvis and the Col were a team, parker actually got Elvis the biggest payouts for the least work. Parker wasn't a womanising pill popper running around sacking and re-employing staff, waving guns in people's faces. He was married, stayed married had grandkids, Elvis was his client it was his choice or a joint decision to do anything. Parker couldn't sue him because he was illegally in the USA and that made contracts null and void, Elvis knew this and kept it quiet. Elvis continued to sign new contracts with parker.. Parker never wrote a book about him either, and is on record as saying, I'm not interested in making money or telling tales about a dead person who I considered a friend.. Elvis was his own man, did what he wanted to do and is responsible for his own actions, that's apparent according to those that knew him. By saying parker conned him is like saying Elvis was a simple minded fool, nothing more than a puppet who did what he was told when he was told, signed everything without looking and had no mind of his own and kept on signing new contracts with his manager because he knew no better...

Elvis should have been doing live Concerts across North America instead of making all those mediocre movies.

A lot more money in movies, Elvis was making a million a movie and getting upto 40% of the box office profits after the movie made its money back. He worked about 3 months out of every year, these movies were made quickly, he'd often rent or buy a home near where most of the filming was going on. Do the odd quick interview to promote the movie, rest of the time he was partying. Touring was something he did in the early days to get himself established. When he did eventually go back to live performances it was as a residency, people came to see him, not the other way around. Again this suited him, big money and no touring around dealing with flying which he claimed not to like " strange considering he had 2 private planes" After 1956 his workload went right down. Even in Las Vegas he wasn't performing on stage anywhere near as much as his peers.. He died at home not from exhaustion or overwork, he hadn't been on the stage for 6 weeks prior to his death. Like I said after 1956 it was a case of getting the most money out of the least work. All the movie albums were recorded in probably less than a week, in-between filming.. Many other album's or singles that were put out were often old unreleased tracks or compilation album's.. I believe a portable recording studio was even brought to his house for one album as he didn't want to go to the studio and due to a recording contract he had no choice so reluctantly agreed as long as the studio was brought to him..
