I am so pumped for this movie. From the trailer, it looks like this is gonna be the first Elvis biopic to show Elvis’s entire story from his life in Tupelo to his death and I couldn’t be more proud. I just want Baz and the cast to do Elvis’s story justice.
IMO ‘This is Elvis’ is best movie about Elvis. But with pure actors Kurt Russell’s version so far is the best from 1979. But I’m hyped to see this. As long as it’s does Elvis Justice.
@@michaelwduffy We have him, he was in the wilderness for 40 years, he came back to lead us home,,, play the song ,,Hem of his Garment and Band of Angels sung by #Pastor Bob Joyce/ EP,,, hes taking care of business for Jesus now,,,,,, he IS #TCB4JESUS he never forgot us, come to church guys.
OK this is one of my favorite reviews of this trailer so far. you know your stuff! I think this is going to win 3+ Oscars at least and dozens of nominations around the world for various awards. TCB great freikin job!!!!!!
@@michaelwduffy Elvis will always be 2nd to None. Also “Before Elvis there was nothing” - John Lennon. Still to this day nothing remotely comes close or compares to Elvis.
My favorite Elvis songs are, Suspicious Minds, Love Me Tender, Can't Help Falling in Love, You Were Always on My Mind, In the Ghetto & also his covers of Blue Moon & Unchained Melody. He is unmatched.
Thank you for the reaction. As a senior who lived through all of this, it is so wonderful that young people are learning who Elvis truly was. You also have been accurate in all your comments about him, as many young people here on line are not. This means so much to we seniors who want to make sure we share all with the younger generation, so his memory will be sure to live on forever. This trailer is quite accurate with the costumes of the fifties, sixties, seventies, girl's reactions etc..... I've had young people tell me , 'this was tame. It was nothing.' It is hard to explain, as times were so very different then. There had been nothing at all like him. Our music was our parent's music. ..gospel, country, Lawrence Welk, Perry Como, Dean Martin etc..... This was pure excitement and we young people were mesmerized. Today, some of my greatest memories are attending his 70's concerts. There was nothing like seeing him live. When he walked on stage, you could FEEL that charisma right there in your seat! Thank you for helping to keep him alive! BTW For those who may not know.... At the end of this video when he says 'Elvis has left the building'...This is what they 'boomed' from the intercom after the end of each concert. They knew we girls would be searching for him. LOL We stalked the airport and tried to get to his floor of the hotel, without much luck. LOL Sadly I saw an interview with Priscilla in which she said he was indeed so concerned about turning 40, and not being remembered... If he only knew....
Wow thanks so much for the comment that was a fascinating read!!!!! Elvis sure was a wonder wish I could’ve seen him in person once in my life! Thanks for taking the time my friend all the best!!! 😁
I am ready to go see this movie in June. I can't believe he thought no one would remember him. He was so wrong. Many people still listen to his music and love it. He is The ICON of ICONs. This younger generation doesn't know what they missed. I believe it will interest them. My favorite song is "Suspicious Minds."
Loved your reaction, Elvis definitely lives on !! I'm so excited for this movie Elvis finally a movie that he deserves!!As for a favourite song I can't choose one, depends on how I'm feeling on the day..Elvis had so many genres xx
This trailer gives me goosebumps every time I see it. I love your reaction. From what I have seen in the trailer, I believe this film will win many awards. I can’t wait to see Austin Butler giving his all portraying the worlds greatest entertainer. Elvis lives 💙
I love "If I Can Dream" too!!! It was written specifically for Elvis two months after MLK was assassinated for the 1968 Comeback Special. It was amazing.
I cannot wait for this to hit the big screen. I'll be there probably on my own at first so no one talks to me and I can sob my heart out, then I'll take the family. My children loved this trailer and they love Elvis. I hope his portrayal shows Elvis's lightness and sense of humour. We get a lot of dark brooding (which of course Elvis liked to be seen that way) but he also had a wicked sense of humour. Hope they don't make him too dark. Am keeping an open mind x
Amen 🙏 Right on 👍👏👏👏 Much love to you and all Elvis Presley lovers Many prayers to everyone who loves n hates. What got me is when he said it’ll all be over and he wouldn’t be remembered Omg 😱 He is today More loved and Remembered God is Good and his blessing that touched Elvis inspires many Souls today young and old ! That is nothing a short of Awesome . I wish everyone was like Elvis , kind loving humble and inspiring it would be the perfect world wouldn’t it ❤️🙌 but life is like a box of chocolates and it’s choices we make that cause love and hate I choose love Immensely. See ya on the other side and then all will be perfect 🙏😇 Thanks for sharing much love to you God bless 🙏 ☮️ 💗🎶🤗.
That quote took me aback also!!! It makes you realize how humble he truly was and it’s because of that that he’s still renown worldwide!!! Yes Elvis is a great role model he viewed the world in such a simplistic way that made sense people love to over complicate things!!! Thanks for such a fantastic comment!!! All the best my friend!! 😁🙏
Great reaction filled with knowledgeable insight and opinions. You know Elvis much better than most of the reaction channels on RU-vid. Elvis was a flaming star ⭐️ and his destiny sadly was to burn out way too soon here on earth 🌍. But what an amazing gift he was to all of us then , now and forever!
Loved your reaction! You have such a great and happy personality!! My favorite Elvis song is, I’ve Got a Thing About You Baby”. Elvis is the greatest of all time! 🐐
Baz Luhrmanns has invested a lot of power in the film and you can't forget that. Before he made the film.He asked many close friends and relatives how he was and that's what the film ended up being. I think it is wonderful that this legend is not forgotten and has made a film. God loves you do not forget. Peace and love. Best regards Bernd from Germany😎✌
I get more and more excited for this movie with each watch and the trailer, and now while watching reactions to it. Loved yours, and I related to the things you said throughout. I have faith that Baz Luhrmann will honour Elvis with this telling of his story. He’s an innovative and unique film maker.
Your review of this movie is the best one I’ve seen so far. Love your enthusiasm and your understanding of Elvis the human, his talent, and his societal significance.
Great reaction you get Elvis he was everybody. That’s why we love him and that’s why we keep his legacy and memory alive. Favorite song that’s a tough one for me personally I would say Moody Blue.
One of the best reactions, loved your insightful commentary, I'm super obsessed with the Elvis trailer, have a feeling it will win countless awards next year. Stumbled on your video accidentally and it didn't disappoint. It's impossible for me to choose just one Elvis song, he was honestly that good! Keep up the good work, liked your video and subscribed to your channel. All the best :D
Elvis had a film made about him back in 79, staring Kurt Russell and directed by John Carpenter. This is meaningful because it was just two years after Elvis died so he was still fresh in everyone’s memories. Plus Kurt Russell kicked Elvis in the shin in one of his earlier movies (Kurt was a kid then, don’t imagine adult Kurt kicking the king in his shin)
That Kurt film seems comical in comparison to this one because kurt could never become elvis. He was always Kurt, the movie star. But Austin disappeared into this role.
In 1979 Priscilla took Lisa Marie to see Queen and she gave Freddie one of Elvis's scarves. Also "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" was a tribute to Elvis. Queen also performed "Jailhouse Rock" when touring in the early years of the band.
All artists look up to Elvis As king of rock and roll Elvis never be forgotten thank you God MAKING ELVIS PRESLEY forever young 2022 ELVIS let's all support Him make this year ELVIS YEAR 🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷💙💙💙💙
I’m sure Baz will cover it but I wish we could have had a glimpse of the famous Aloha Rom Hawaii concert. Especially cause as I’m sure you know as a fellow passionate fan is the most watched performance by a solo entertainer at 1.5 BILLION views worldwide
It was for half a second but I thought that shot of him falling into the limo in a white suit was from when he arrived in Hawaii. Some major things had very short moments. Like, that shot of Elvis with his arm around his dad, sitting on a step, that was when his mother died. The picture that was in the newspaper when she died was very close to that shot
I absolutely love ❤️ Elvis music! One of my many favorites is "I believe in the man in the sky!" His gospel albums are excellent! And to be totally honest, I Love any and all of Elvis' music!
I really loved that you touched on the fact that he said it has nothing to do with us and Elvis said it had everything to us because from Elvis’s standpoint and in the way things weren’t the time yes it did have everything to do with him
Absolutely great reaction. I agree with all of your astute comments. I saw the movie multiple times and believe it did so much to help Elvis' legacy live on. He was incomparable and inimitable. 🔥❤️🔥❤️
I am very proud of you Michael.I am 65 yrs old, born and raised in memphis and its very nice to see someone that knows what the heck he is talking about when it comes to Elvis.Everything you said facts and now i will subscribe and look forward to visiting you're channel .Old Tom here and gone for now.
Thanks so much Tom!! Really appreciate that mate!!! I am a die hard Elvis fan and I’m sure you are as well!!😃 thanks for taking the time my friend!! Have a great day!!! 🙏
Yes I’m the same way! That should be an awesome experience for them!! Good to introduce em to great music a lot of young kids have never even heard this music before!
Awesome Reaction Dude! You Understand What Elvis Presley Was All About! God's Gift To The World! God Will Last Forever And So Will Elvis Presley! This Is Proof!!!!⭐
This trailer was better than any movie I've seen on Elvis. I can't wait TCB⚡ Favorite Elvis song I can't do so I will give top 5: 1.) American Trilogy, 2.) Take my hand, precious lord, 3.) Thrill of your love, 4.) Polk Salad Annie, 5.) You gave me a mountain. This top 5 will change every day, and that is the beauty of Elvis music, there are so many great songs.
@@michaelwduffy I’m Super excited! Can’t wait for Baz to show who he really was and kill all the stereotypes and rumors there is of him. When you see it PLEASE do a review too cuz I’m so interested in what you’re gonna think once you watch it.
I agree with you and love your comment s! Love your enthusiasm to ! I get chills WATCHING this preview as you say alot has been put into this preview! It looks AWESOME SENSATIONAL HISTORICAL epic and ARTISTIC! It was filmed on Australia by Aussie director Baz LURHMANN !
Wow!!! I am so very excited about this movie. In July 77 my boss wouldn't let me have the night off when Elvis came to my town. I regret not telling my boss to shove it going to see my idol then and my idol now. About a month later he died. I listen to Elvis every single day. He has always been at the top of my singing artist of all time. I love him like a father and I hope I get to tell him in person one day in eternity. I will go see this movie on June 22 on the very first showing in my home town. Gives me a chance to redeem myself from what happened in 1977.
Wow what a story!!! Sometimes we never know when an opportunity may be the last chance we ever have to do something! Hopefully your dream comes true!!! And yes this movie has all the makings of a blockbuster!!!
I was born a year after Elvis passed away...yet his name always been around in my life up till now.im not even American,I'm halfway across the world.but everyone here knows the name.as a big fan of music.no matter what genre..and mr.presley always been and will always be a respected name.the legend who started it all...thanks for your reaction sir.youre the best one I've seen so far
I love this review! So far the ONLY one to point out that the line, “it has EVERYTHING to do with us” outlined Elvis’s character perfectly! No other reviewer has seemed to react or even mention this. And a reviewer that is knowledgeable about Elvis.
I never knew how much he was attacked back then. His upbringing, talent and fearlessness allowed him to create havoc within the old order. This movie turned me into a die hard Elvis fan.
I agree with you 100% with everything you said. During the filming of all his movies, he knew the crew member's names, spoke to them, knew about their families. Bill Bixby, who starred in two movies with him, said Elvis came to his dressing room to introduce himself. He was like, seriously? He couldn't believe a huge star like Elvis could be so humble and down to earth and would reach out like that but there's so many stories out there about how he cared about everyone and how many millions of dollars he gave to charity without any press around because he didn't do it for the publicity. Also, the only checks he personally wrote and signed were to the charities he donated to. Otherwise, his father took care of the finances, being business manager. Some of those checks are on display at Graceland.
Everyone needs to visit Graceland once. See the museums..it's wonderful. I can't pick a favorite song..I've been a fan from the beginning of his career
And it was amazing. Austin Butler talked, walked and sang like Elvis and it got him an Oscar nomination. He even changed his voice to fit each time period in the King's life. Pure magic.
I'm definitely going to check this movie out..if singers of now was truthful and honest..they would say..Elvis was the one who started the flame down deep inside them..Elvis had issues true enough..but truth be told..who don't..I have always loved the man's music..as for my favorite song..there are too many to mention but here are a few that I place very highly..Follow that Dream...You'll never walk alone...Can't help falling in love..I believe..that's just to name a few..Elvis may be gone..but I'll tell you this ..his story goes on in his music..
Hi Michael, you have the power, like me about Elvis. If i can dream, is FANTASTIC, mine is, CANT HELP FALLING IN LOVE. My second choice is ALL THE REST. Keep up your DREAM, its what the world needs, Just Dream, THAK YAAA VRRRR MUSHHH.
You know a lot about Elvis like I do. I am impressed by your words. I think this movie will be the best on Elvis ever. He was trained by Polly, the woman that trained the actor that played Freddy Mercury. Austin has the head movements, the responses to when people talk to him, his walk and he has the best movements ever on stage as Elvis. This will be the first movie to show Elvis as a young boy and how he was influenced by everything. That is key, because a person gets their personality by age 13. Watch the scene closely in the trailer where Parker and Elvis are on the Ferris Wheel. Parker asked Elvis...."Are you ready to Fly?" Butler's response is dead on. He says " I'm ready....ready to fly!". Elvis repeated things twice a lot when he spoke. I have seen many interviews with Elvis and have seen him do it many times. The Director knew this and that is why he put it in this scene. Just brilliant! I cannot wait for June 24 to see this. I am an actor and have been in 15 movies and have had 5 starring parts in them. I know Elvis and acting well. I have a feeling Austin Butler and Tom Hanks will both be up for Oscars for this movie. We will see. Again, your review was great.
Wow that is fascinating I had no idea that Elvis would do that!!! Learned a lot from your comment thanks Spencer!!!!! Should be a smash hit at the box office can’t wait to see it !!! Keep well my friend!! 😁
Thanks Michael. When the movie comes out, please give a review on your podcast. I am 62 and too busy getting ready to get married to have a pod cast. What state are you from? A few years ago, I went to Priscilla's Southern Living at Graceland. It was expensive. I got to meet Priscilla. She said to me....Spencer, you have the same sandy blond hair color as Elvis. You know he dyed his hair black? That made the trip for me. I live in Houston, Texas and so it was a long drive.
ELVIS THE MOVIE was filmed in Australia Gold Coast Queensland! Tom Hanks put on the accent bc CTP was from Europe! From what I read over the year's he never wanted or allowed Elvis to tour overseas! And u r right he only had his best interests at heart! The movie looks artistic and totally awesome!
love love love your reactions, great background info which shows you know your stuff (and is knowledgeable about Elvis) in that you were able to provide the background to the clips. can't wait to see the movie. Favourite songs - well, Cant Help Falling in Love with You (best version eva), If I can Dream, In the Ghetto, American Trilology, Love Me Tender, the gospel songs... the list goes on....
The king will always rule over all artists mainly because without him there’d be no Pop Rap etc. like without Sinatra there wouldn’t be Elvis. Elvis was way before my time and I knew his music right away in fact I learned to sing in tune by listening to his songs I recently got a high compliment at work that made me smile. Elvis will always live on.
I love the way you talk about Colonel because it’s very true he brought him to center stage with him he was also his demise but we also have to say Elvis was his own demise because he let it happen even though we all miss him so much but it’s true as of anyone who is even brought in any kind of drug they are the ultimate ones you have to take control over it
All hail the king... just two odd children searching for eternity well one of the them found it all hail the king of rock and roll. Nice to get a reaction from someone who knows the big mans background 10 out of 10 my friend respect and love friend England
This movie will be another bridge that connects Elvis to a new generation but I think this will really go beyond the success he had on stage and in the studio. I am really glad that it seems to include how he was bullied in school for being a "freak," because he dyed his hair (unheard for guys to do that at the time) wore feminine colors, and embraced his androgyny. Can you even imagine what it was like to go from social outcast to the most popular singer in the country and have youth the world over say, "I want to be like Elvis." This will be epic!
Totally agree!!!! Many people today just never heard of Elvis which is a travesty!!! I’m sure if this is done right it’ll appear to the younger base and bring Elvis into the next generation!
@@michaelwduffy I just discovered reaction videos and it is still amazing to see others connecting to Elvis but every single video is done by people 35 & under but what is more amazing to me is that it's a self education through finding his songs, movies, and performances on the internet unlike myself who were introduced by our parents who are the OG Elvis generation. No matter how it happens, Elvis is one of the original rebels so he always be loved by the youth of the nation.
My favorite Elvis song? I am 62 and have had trouble with women in some of my relationships. I would say due to this my favorite would be Suspicious Minds.
Amazing trailer, and very effective in its purpose which is to build hype for this movie. I just hope the movie lives up to the standard this trailer set for it.
What a great reaction!!! just found you by chance, i have lost count how many times i have seen the trailer and just cannot wait to see the film. Your passion for Elvis shines through, i am glad we are on the same page re the "fat controller", i refuse to call him by his self appointed name.
