The lyrics of this song are really heartbreaking when you learn that Judy Tyler died shortly after wrapping up filming. "Forever young and beautiful", indeed.
This is the best scene of the movie, yet, I know it tore Elvis up after Judy Tyler's passing. Such a beautiful scene. Elvis really showed his acting chops here.
I had just turned 16, was hired at the Washington Theater in Royal Oak Michigan, and ushering over the two week showing of this flick was one of my most memorable experiences. The house was packed nightly, and watching the film over and over, I literally memorized all of the lines, from "Here comes the sugar man", to and including this vocal. Due to knowing that Judy Tyler was killed several months prior to the film's release, I would literally 'tear up' while watching the ending, and looking into her eyes. At age 73, I still do to this day, _including_ watching this replay.
Elvis was a fantastic actor in his early years i Jailhouse Rock King Creole wild in the country loving you and kid Galahad shows Elvis great acting potential Jailhouse Rock is a classic and I think his performance in this movie he's just as good as anything James Dean ever did thank you Happy New Year
It is so said that song was about "Forever Young" and she died 3 weeks later. It broke Elvis' heart. I think he saw them the night her husband and she left to drive back across the country.😢 they
Yes she and Elvis together were just so good, I think this is the best movie along with Viva Las Vegas he ever made, I felt so sad to hear that she and her husband were killed soon after making jailhouse rock
Hits me hard my name is Vince too like Elvis in the film, in 1988 after wrapping my music video which became a big hit for us the day after my soul mate and childhood sweetheart died tragically I know how he felt
Interesting as Elvis was a very under rated actor. The colonel really kept him down.imagine Johnny Fontaine (Al Martino) in Godfather or as Tom Hagan ? Elvis offered to play those parts for free, just to do a movie with Brando..Scorcese felt, he wanted an Italian as Johnny Fontaine..but I think the Tom Hagen part would have worked, Elvis only 36 at the time film made
