Elvis ,looking ever so fine ,from head to toe ,when this man sings ,he puts passion ,emotion ,and very strong vocals ,he just makes you feel it in your heart ,and soul
"This man lives and breaths music" is a perfect description of ELVIS! Bravo to you for recognizing it so quickly. From me, a Then, Now & Forever ELVIS fan.
Expect the unexpected. You nailed it. He's been that way since he first started performing and that's why I love the fact that he has the best musicians around him, and in addition to the way they play, the best musicians can handle surprises because they pay so close attention and they work together so tightly. I know this from being in bands for a long time and it's one thing that has always impressed me about Elvis and his musicians so much. It's actually a thing. He was known for being so unpredictable. If you want a really amazing early example of it, and in fact this in particular was the television performance that set that huge racist backlash off that you observed in Elvis and the black community, check out quite specifically, Hound dog, from the early 1956 Milton Berle variety show make sure to go for a longer cut because there's some fantastic interaction with him and I think he's like 20 or maybe 21 years old in this and a new sensation. It's before the one that you either have already seen or you are more likely to come across, which was much later in the fall of that year on The Ed Sullivan Show and by then there was so much controversy and it was a lot more controlled. And the one from June or whatever it is in early 1956 on the Milton Berle variety show, it was already bringing down the house and always on television they do a short version of it, so just as this really short version of Hound dog would normally end, he suddenly kept it going but only at half tempo. They had never practiced it that way; they hadn't talked about it, the fans were just going nuts and I think instinctively Elvis thought they should have more than just a minute and 50 seconds. But because they had played live together so many times, and knew each other so well, the band immediately adjusts to it and keeps going and plays it up as this half tempo version of it and it basically turned it into a burlesque. By slowing it down, it gave Elvis the opportunity to get even more suggestive with his dancing and exaggerated gestures for maybe 20 more seconds and then he ended it. It is something to behold.
Please do What Now My Love and Just Pretend and I'll Remember You, I love your reactions to the King and I love hearing you speak, not bad to look at either ❤
The American Trilogy is about the Civil War. Dixie the the theme of the South, Glory Hallelujah the theme of the North and All My Trials a Spiritual of the slaves. The arrangement is pure Elvis. ❤
You just witnessed THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER THIS WORLD WILL EVER SEE!!!!! Elvis had it all the looks, moves, voice power control, passion emotion and charisma like no other. When Elvis sang you didn't just hear him you felt him as he touched your very soul., NO auto tune NO pitch correction just pure PERFECTION. Elvis was like a God among men a gift to us all from GOD himself. His voice was like magic and will never be matched. Elvis gave his all to what meant the most to him HIS FANS!!! Even though he didn't like to be called THE KING as he said there was only 1 King and that was |God. Long live The King .
I really enjoy your reaction videos. I love the way you pick up on things that most reactions don’t such as the look on Elvis’ face as the music builds. Thank you so much.
Elvis was executive producer of all his music, he was a perfectionist of what he wanted, always with passion and feeling. He hand picked his musicians, and his singers both the Sweet Inspirations the ladies group and the stamps quartet. they loved him and he loved them. Maybe you can react to some of his rehearsal vids, he is so funny and has a ball in his rehearsals, some to check out are , "Elvis in the Studio' 1970, "Elvis Presley talks to the Sweet Inspirations/words" in 1970, " Elvis in a Jaw dropping jam sit-down" in Vegas 1970 and of course more great Vegas numbers Like, "The Wonder of You" in 1970. You do thoughtful reactions, thanks you.
@user-gz5xt1lj4t I second your suggestion! These rehearsal videos show more than practicing the music, it shows the dynamics of the whole entourage having a good time together! They're like a look back into time with the legend and his court!
Very well, done great reaction you are understanding Elvis and how he works ,this is a great song from the start to finish everybody was at their very best. Thanks for your time looking into Elvis now you have started you won't ever be able to stop😊😊
These are NOT religious songs - but are literally 2 war songs & a lullaby, Combined into a trilogy by the great songwriter Mickey Newbury. You should listen to his version. You will understand why Elvis covered it!
…Elvis was the FIRST and BEST! ... No one is as known/famous worldwide as Elvis and has been for almost 70 years! ...His charisma is still unsurpassed to this day!! ... A singer for eternity!! ✨💎✨🕺🏻🕯 Thank you
From his outfit to his band , to the arrangement of his music ... he orchestrated everything and wanted to give his audience nothing but the best ! He was one with his band and his backup singers ... they all appreciated his love for music and his respect for what they brought to the performances ... you need to watch one of his live rehearsal videos to see the real warmth and family feeling he maintained with everyone around him . Elvis was a very special human being ... that's why his fans are so protective of his legacy ! TCB forever !
The master musician giving a masterclass. There are three songs pieced together beautifully uniting the Southern and Northern states of the US, together with a spiritual that slaves would have sung. As ever Elvis is trying to bring everyone together. I must have seen this hundreds of times but it thrills me every single time ❤
The King of Rock N Roll for a reason.. and truly .. if you just look at him back in 1973.... thhe King of Bling too.. One of the best entertainers to every be on stage. Lord knows this man was my Mom's era.. not mine.. but it's very sad the world lost him in 1977
As Elvis was standing there as the flute was playing. You could see the respect Elvis had for his band. But you can see how much respect the band had for Elvis. And they loved each other they was so tight. When Elvis passed away I turned 17 years old the same. I grew up with Elvis he was a big part of my life. They was always playing Elvis's movies and a few concerts of his own TV. I grew up in a bad home. So when Elvis came on TV I would fall into Elvis's world. I could escape my problems and fall in love with him. The one of the things I took from Elvis was to love everyone. Well 2 things I have to add it to my list was his gospel music. I grew up loving God and Savior Jesus I give credit to Elvis for that because Elvis was a big part of my life. He sure had a powerful presence. With his old movies and concerts I still have his presence now in my life.
Elvis would be so happy to hear you say this. He said if he made a difference to one person’s life, he’d be happy. He never believed he had done anything special and people would forget him!! I hope he knows now as he looks down on us🙏👌💕🕺
I've been listening to him sing this song for over 50 years and it still gives me goosbumps. Shout out to the director for that push in. It really helps build the tension. BTW there is a clip of Judy Garland singing The Battle Hymn of The Republic, she's well passed her best but she is still amazing. ❤
Please check out "Make The World Go Away" by Elvis from 1970. Songs like that really showcased his voice. The footage was from one of a series of shows filmed for the documentary movie called That's The Way It Is.
Thanks for this. Trilogy is a medley of three uniquely American pieces: “Dixie,” (dixie are the states down south in the U.S.); “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” a marching hymn of the Union Army during the American Civil War; and “All My Trials,” a Bahamian (people of the Bahamas) lullaby related to African American spirituals sung by protesting folksingers of the 1950s. Not only was he orchestrating the orchestra/band, but because he felt the music so deeply, it was impossible for him NOT to move. Notice at about 5:34 when he said "Hallelujah" how he bent over as his voice became even more powerful. Someone else would have done that most likely standing straight up, but you can tell from that little movement how the power of the music, not just the words, went right through him. Also about 5:18 while looking @ orchestra when the horns blared so powerfully, you can see on his face the entire experience raging through him. And this was just one of the many things that made this Man so unique & so spectacular. No one has ever put the emotion into a song like Elvis did.
@@mimi-422 Thank you so much. I have a great interest in behavior (both human & animal alike) & always pay close attention.. The slightest little action or movement can speak volumes. I'm reminded of an interview w-Whitney Houston where she said her mother was w-Elvis for years -- which was not true -- & I noticed how her expression & tone of voice changed at that moment -- it was because she wasn't telling the truth.
Correction regards singing w-emotion: there was one other person who sang w-extreme passion & emotion & that was Luciano Pavarotti. If you haven't heard Nessum Dorma do take a listen to "Pavarotti sings "Nessun dorma" from Turandot (The Three Tenors in Concert 1994)" at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cWc7vYjgnTs.html.
Thanks for the great reaction. I've watched Elvis's American Trilogy video many times. As the band reaches it's peak toward the end of the song, I get suck a kick out of Elvis saying "Hallelujah" then "Louder!" and then, "Now!" just as he's about to close out the song. His command over the band and orchestrations are a thing to behold. Have never seen another artist like Elvis on stage; doubtful there'll ever be another one.
This was a Compilation of 3 Civil War Era Songs: "Dixie" Representing the American South where most of our Slavery took place, "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" Representing the Northern States who Fought to Abolish Slavery and "All my Trials" a Bahamian Lullaby sung by Black Americans who were Enslaved. It Represents the American Triumph over Slavery and the Reunification of our Country after the Civil War.
Oh my days. A billion that is just incredible to think of. To be fair I can see how anyone would want to be part of his show either virtually or in person. 🙏
@@Kings-003it was the first ever Sattalite Show seen all over the world. To this day no single performer has ever achieved such figures of viewers. Elvis had his suit designed with the American Eagle because he knew he was representing his country and was such a patriot. 👌💕🕺
This was a mixture of songs it was three different songs, mixed into one. I really think you are pretty special to just the way you react to Elvis makes me smile too. Elvis definitely was a amazing entertainer

Love this song!! Please continue your Elvis Journey, I promise you won't be disappointed!! Elvis had So many wonderful songs!! Love your reactions! You always put a smile on my face!! ❤❤❤❤❤!
Elvis loved to showcase the talents of the people who played for and around him ... he loved the talent of his backing singers, both the Imperials, and JD Sumner & the Stamps ( seen here ), and also the Sweet Inspirations who often opened his show, and were well paid for doing so. The Flautist seen here only ever played for Elvis this one time, Gabe Balthazaar. He was a Jazz Flute and Sax man, who played with Stan Kenton and was much revered in Hawaii ... he passed away only last year. An old friend of mine who plays Flute for a major British Orchestra, has been in awe of Gabe's performance here for decades ... even now, when the Elvis show performs with trhe backing of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the part is played by Trumpet, as no Flautist will take this piece on ...
Love it! Check out I'll Remember You from this same concert! Trouble from King Kreole, Crawfish, Dixieland Rock, Jailhouse Rock, High Heeled Sneakers, it's not live but fun Christmas Time Pretty Baby, Like a Baby from Elvis is back album, actually the whole album is fire! … Elvis war der ERSTE und der BESTE! … Niemand ist Weltweit so bekannt/berühmt wie Elvis und das seit fast 70 Jahren! … Sein Charisma ist bis heute unübertroffen!! … Ein Sänger für die Ewigkeit!! ✨💎✨🕺🏻🕯 Thank you
"An American Trilogy is compromised of parts of 3 different songs. From the War Between the States (American Civil War), they are "Dixie", from the South, and "Battle Hymn of the Republic" from the North, as well as the song "All My Trials".
A loose medley of the Confederate anthem “Dixie,” the slavery folk song “All My Trials,” and the stirring Union rallying cry “Battle Hymn Of The Republic,” the song spoke to Elvis not just about inescapable historical divisions but about the resolution to which he hoped those divisions might some day come.
. . 😔 sorry guy . . you gave this beautiful man a small screen. . .EP was bigger than this➖ EP sold more albums, CD’s, recorded units than the Beatles & Michael Jackson combined in their sales . .
