IMHO maybe the greatest live performance, by anyone, anytime ever period. Raw, passionate, emotional and so poignant...even today. So hard to believe he would be gone in fewer than 9 years. What a legacy of music he left behind. He could sing with such a rich, buttery caramel sound, be as gritty as needed, soulful, bluesy, countrified, inspirational and even operatic at times...and did it ALL LIVE. There wasn't anything ever done to enhance his sound...there was never a need. Yeah, I could talk about Elvis all day too! You wouldn't bore me a bit. Great reaction! I got a three for you, from 1970 "Twenty days and Twenty nights", "I Just Can't Help Believing" and "Just Pretend". They were from the That's The Way It Is documentary and while "Just Pretend" and "I Just Can't Help Believing"get reacted to quite a bit, "Twenty Days and Twenty Nights" seldom gets any love. It's an absolute beautiful song that allows Elvis to show off all aspects of his voice. Once again, great, real honest reactions!! Refreshing!
I"m 18, MASSIVE Elvis fan, only listen to Elvis, literally, Elvis dictionary according to people, love all stages/years of Elvis, however 68/69/70 are my fav.
I can't remember not being an Elvis fan. His good looks don't hurt either, but he actually had an amazing voice that only got better especially in his 30's. Thanks Lyle!
This is one of the great, all-time performances, ever. Your reaction made me tear up, the fact that you were getting emotional was great and real. I get it as he has that effect on people. I have a request, Trying To Get To You, again from the 68 comeback special.
ELVIS!!!!!!! This was a year before I was born. I have been a fan since the can remember. At 7 years old I had started hanging posters in my room of stars I absolutely loved. Y’all remember those life size posters of Elvis in concert in Hawaii????? Yeah, that was on my door. I slept on the top bunk bed so I could reach his face with my hand. I gave him a kiss every night before I crawled under my Glen Campbell “Rhinestone Cowboy “ bedspread. Ppl still buy me Elvis gotta. I have introduced ssssssoooooo many youngsters to his music.
I grew up on Elvis. I so wish my parents kept their vinyl collection. This always makes me emotional as I read that his manager hated it but Elvis insisted, as it embodied his personal values.
I love the comment from Tommy Lee Jones in Men In Black "Elvis isnt dead...he just went home".....I agree.... Elvis was an absolute force of Nature and I don't believe that he was of this planet ......we were just borrowing him to get rock and roll established...
I read.somewhere this was within a couple of months of Martin Luther King jr assination. Also some of his lines were in this song. This is why Elvis has so much emotion in this performance.also Also he greatly looked up to MLK and all of his work he had accomplished. MLK was killed only 9 miles from Elvis home... Graceland. Also JFK has just been assasinated.
Elvis was the most versatile singer and still is in the history of music and his charisma stands alone some people compare Michael Jackson to Elvis he's nowhere near Elvis Elvis is light-years ahead of Michael Jackson Bridge Over Troubled Water 1970 is also a beautiful and Powerful performance thank you from That's the Way It Is
Yeah this song meant alot to Elvis Presley. It was his tribute to Martin Luther King a John f Kennedy death. Elvis Presley dream was for everyone to love one another a get along no matter what race you are ELVIS Presley was the one who gave the black the courage a stand up a chase your dreams.
Φόρος τιμής για τον χαμό του Martin Luther King και του Kennedy. Αυτός ειναι ο Elvis και φυσικά υπάρχει λόγος που απλά είναι μοναδικός! Σε ευχαριστώ φίλε για το reaction!
JUST LITTLE INFO.. THEY STARTED TAPPING THE 68 SPECIAL IN JUNE ALSO ROTATED SMALL AUDIENCE THRU. THE TAPPING WAS COMPLETED IN THE BEGINNING OF DECEMBER.. THERE ARE PIECES THAT WEREN'T EVEN ON T.V. SOME LOOK THE SAME.. WELL THATS WHEN THE EDITING CAME IN. WELL SADLY AS YOU HEARD THERE WAS M.L.K. THAT WAS KILLED THEN R.F.K. ALL THE FOOTAGE HE DID IS SPECIAL, SO IS HE FOREVER. LOVING GOOD HEARTED SOUL💙💙💙
I appreciate you playing that fantastic song. However, a lot of reaction videos have done this particular performance over and over. It's time to do Elvis songs that even many fans aren't aware of such as "God My Mo-Jo Working." "Hi-Heeled Sneakers' "Wearing That Loved On Look" "From A Jack To A King" "The Heart Of Rome" "Down In The Alley."
Tammy slavens this an Elvis performance from the ‘68 Comeback Special. Elvis passed in 1977. You are most likely thinking of his 1977 performance of Unchained Melody, where he was in fact in bad shape and passed a few months later.
Patrol Gaming yes Aussie indeed. Us Americans have a hard time differentiating Kiwi and Aussie accents. No offense. My favorite Aussie musician is Nick Cave, I should’ve known better.
My question is. If he could sing anything. Why is everybody playing and reacting To the same songs. Over. &. Over. & over. Come on mate. Dig in that catalog.
