That is a great collection of 45's. Didn't know they kept making EP'S after 1967, here in the states they quit and went to all 2 songs 45's. I have two ELVIS EP'S from the 50's and a 45 single (2 songs) from 1956 (HOUND DOG) all three past down from my DAD. I never really got in to buying 45's when I was a kid now I wished I did! I only have 9 plus the three from my DAD that I mentioned. Thanks , I learn something new with every video can't wait till the next one.
I had to start out with 45s as a kid due to lack of funds. Luckily in 1980 they reissued a load of LPs in Britain on the RCA International label that were dirt cheap so I bought a lot of those back in the day. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for educating us on the Japanese variety of Elvis cd’s, vinyl’s and the many interesting unknown facts. I have quite a large Elvis collection, nothing of American copies, regrettably I should have reached beyond the variety offered within my country. I will follow your videos going forward.
Thanks as always for sharing your marvellous collection. The story of the EP's is no less enjoyable than any of the other great videos you have shown. That book is a killer and to think I once owned it and then parted with it???? A massive regret. All the very best and looking forward to your next instalment!
I know what you mean. I still regret selling some of my original record collection 30 years ago. The book does turn up every now and then though, should you decide to get another one. Thanks for watching!
I really enjoyed your video on the EPs I remember buying the live ESp from Chappells music store in New Bond Street In London they always had a good selection of Japanese Imports to tempt me on pay day.
I lived in London for several years back in the late 80s / early 90s. I don't think I ever knew about that store, sadly. Although that was the period when I was getting rid of my vinyl to buy CDs.
Lovely collection you have there. As a 7" collector myself, I completed the US singles and EP's releases this past year. I just started to track down Japanese 7" releases. Have about 10 now, I just added the Charro single with the beautiful picture sheet to the collection. That books very interesting, as most websites don't show the complete catalog. I'd like to see more from that book. Anyway, again thanks for sharing!
A full set of US singles and EPs? Very nice. Do you have It's Now Or Never without the piano track? Yes, the Japanese discography book is fascinating. I'm sure the publisher would make a profit if they brought it out again but it's been out of print for years. Thanks for watching!
Hi David :) how are you ? thank you for another great and very interesting and informative Video about Elvis Japanese EPs , i have only few EPs , as i only started to collect them last year, the prices of those EPs are very high, i guess lots of them are very rare as they probably printed in low quantities ( maybe less than 1000 copies of each EP, or even less than that ) , by the way i have this great book, thankfully i managed to get it few years ago, its really great , showing all the LPs, '45 and EPs , maybe just 1 or two as you mentioned are not there ;) many thanks again , looking forward for the next video :) have a great week my friend
Yes, I'm fine, thanks. Hope you are too. Indeed many of those EPs are super rare. The '50s ones and the mid-60s reissues with new covers are the hardest to find. I'm glad you found the book. It's hard to find here too now. Take care.
Nice video with a lot of information about the Japanese Elvis releases, I wonder if those old Japanese records from the 1950s are still for sale somewhere
Very informative for me..explains why a lot of the covers didn’t seem to reflect what was on the EPs I’d like to obtain that book. Where did you get it from buddy?
Hi Scotty. That book is long out of print now and commands a fair price on Japanese auction sites when it does come up for sale which is not often. It's hard to suggest how to find it because it has no ISBN and no English title. If you check eBay for Elvis Japanese record discography it may turn up on there occasionally. I might make enquiries to see about republishing it.
