Mad respect for him literally moving out of the way during the guitar solo and just making the eye contact with the band. He had such mad respect for the guys behind him and that’s such a big thing in my opinion.
I am already 78 and I couldn't agree more. I was a fan of Elvis since 1954, when I was 11. I was proud having all single Elvis' records available at that time.
I love Elvis but there are some other musicians who share the throne with him. They are just as big frankly speaking. They are just different but they are all parts of the whole thing with many edges. You know they are titans of music with many faces
@@prodkwop The Beatles were great songwriters. Were even called the worst musicians of all time by Quincy Jones. They didn't play their instruments that well apparently. But in terms of vocal greatness, it's hard to think of anyone eclipsing Elvis. I don't think any artist living or dead... can claim he was bigger than Elvis. I don't think even MJ was convinced he was.
21 years old he had the world in his hands,he was toying with his audience and he drove the ladies wild with his moves his voice,to have that much power, only Elvis Presley can do that RIP Elvis A.Presley you are missed
His wit, humor, dancing, acting and that voice a mystifying chameleon of different octaves and textures, tones and volumes and staggering power...what a display of human ability and supernatural talent....geez
@@philpotts3893 109% correct. Elvis's sound back then was LITERALLY the fusion of white country with black rhythm and blues, REVELATORY and innovative. But unfortunately, today's left-wing democrat party lies about everything, including elvis presley, simply because he was white.
65 years ago, and no performer, no band, and for that matter, no cultural movement has approached him. The look, the confidence, the commitment to the material and the kinetic energy are unparalleled. A great artist, archetype and American.
It doesn’t matter what decade or year it is, this performance is simply electrifying. The incredible charisma of the King, the tasteful original sound of Scotty Moore’s guitar, the exciting rhythm of Bill and DJ. If you don’t get a sense of excitement from this, then you’re really missing out!
You're right. It doesn't matter what decade this is. He IS electrifying. We can appreciate the filming of this, and maybe some enhancement to bring out the best contrast. It's incredible, it's so old, and all comes out sparkling here.
No it doesn’t matter what decade. I’m watching these videos for the first time, and I’m mesmerized. I’m watching everything I can find on him these days. ❤
@@mosescarrazco5325 the King was the guy who inspired a whole generation, who sold a billion records, and who made it possible for black artists to be played on mainstream radio-that was Elvis
Elvis' performance of "Hound Dog" on The Milton Berle Show would have to rank as Number One. It was that performance - Elvis' first performance without a guitar in hand - that really launched Elvis. Teens loved him, adults did not.
@@reneleclerc6119 This performance at Milton Berle is also one of the highlights of his career, in fact 1956 was an explosion of freedom that was stuck in teenagers' throats.
Also in 100 years time nobody will remember who Justin Bieber was. However, everyone will remember who Elvis was in 100 years time because kings never die.👑
Elvis and Scotty. That solo is amazing, unlike other guitarists from early rock Scotty's solos are all different. They look like they are having so much fun.
Sweet young Elvis with your Rock and Roll and super band. Never will anyone beat you in every type of music - you are THE BEST! Am 71 and will always love your music, shows, movies etc. Your bright STAR will never stop shining for us, fans!
Don't forget to give love to the band that helped him bring his sultry talent to the world. The licks of Scottie Moore, The thumping of Bill Black and the beat of DJ Fontana helped change the world.
A truly phenomenal performance for 1956. At 0:50 the band explodes into the interlude as Elvis throws his head back with eyes closed in ecstasy and almost slide-hovers backwards and sideways to give way to that explosion. I recently learnt that this was watched by 82.6 percent of the US tv audience - the highest in US history!
I never paid too much attention to Elvis as I was growing up, but as I watch him now, I am as impressed with him as I have been with anyone. He went from a dead stop, quiet performer in this scene to an explosion of music. I mean he really is a dream come true as far as a performer goes. Great style and stage presence. I actually like his movies too. He is a true star.
I was sitting right up close to my B&W TV watching this at about age 13, thrilled beyond words, screaming as I always did and still do when I see Elvis. I am still thrilled to see and hear him everytime. changed the world!
Love these early years performances, so raw, and entertaining! Elvis was such a great performer in every stage of his career, just a beautiful human, love him always!
I'm actually old enough to remember this, I wasn't very old, maybe 5 but I started watching Elvis when he was just starting out. If he was on TV you can bet I was sitting right in front of it watching. I've seen all of his movie's and owned all of his gospel album's. I loved Elvis before I started school. He had an affect on all age's and I still love him to this day. I'm happy I got to grow up with Elvis.
@@jacksonrodriguez2703 I'm from Oklahoma I live in the country about 50 mile's north of Tulsa, Oklahoma. I love it out here it's nice and peaceful. May I ask where you are from? I love hearing from other Elvis fan's, I grew up with Elvis and really enjoy him to this day. Thank you for your reply, I just got out of the hospital Sunday. It's good to be home and I'm trying to catch up with everything. I need a new phone this one is so full I had to stop Facebook my phone kept shutting down. I've had a few people ask about the what's app but I don't have it. Have a blessed evening it was good hearing from you.
No one ever came close to Elvis. Out of all the brilliant artists, singers and performers since his time, there has not been one person to top him. Ge was the greatest of all time. God blessed him with so much!🙏👼🕉🌟❤
@@bigbodawg77 I would agree with You and Chuck Berry. Scotty never seems to miss a single note in any of the many live performances on RU-vid or anyplace else.
Most handsome man in his premium time in life having a wonderful time with his audience. That's why he missed it so much while filming. He was made for live performance ⚡⚡⚡🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
According to Tom Jones very close friend of Elvis they went to a concert Chuck Berry was doing and Elvis specifically told Tom Jones "Now theres the True King of Rock n Roll"cause of the fact of not only his charisma but the fact he wrote "ALL" his own songs created dance moves namely the "DUCK WALK" and was a pioneer grand wizard at playung the guitar which influenced Jimi Hendrix to take it to "ANOTHER LEVEL"for Chuck Berry was the influence of Jimi Hendrix and countless others including the beatles💯🤣✅️✅️✅️✅️🎯💯
His energy is contagious! His facial expressions are classic!! I could watch him all day. What a gift Elvis was. I'll love him and listen to him forever 🥰❤️😇🎶🥰😘🥳
This is my favourite Elvis TV performance of the 1950s. He was having a lot of fun. I’m glad this full version has been released. Elvis Presley was unique. He took R & B, Country, pop, and gospel, - and mixed them together like no one else had ever done. His first songs illustrates this, as he took a R & B song for the A side and a Country song for the B side. He did the same with his second single, but the B side was a cover of a 1950 [I’m sure it was 1950] pop song. It was different, very different. I have seen some comments about Elvis “whitewashing blues.” He did not. What he did was to mix his influences together and make it his own - and he was the most successful, the most influential artist of all time. While I like Arthur Crudap’s original version of That’s Alright more than Elvis’, I like his version of Good Rockin’ Tonight better than the original. And so it goes - it’s always a matter of personal taste.
My favorite time of Elvis. I watched this on our B&W TV, in real time, and I have never seen anyone since as thrilling, fun, talented, or as handsome. What a doll.
Iconic. As a singer and recording artist there is nothing like listening to Elvis. HIs tone, charisma and choices melodically are just so mesmerising. I wish this man got to travel the world... we are all so inspired and grateful for your work and what you sowed into music, King!
Elvis always had great players on stage with him that didn't get enough credit. Scotty Moore here and later James Burton in the '70s are two absolute legends, along with Elvis.
Yes agree with BoJo 100%. Elvis the best forever. No one can come close to him. Drop dead gorgeous. Beautiful voice. So kind n generous. A beautiful soul. Rip Elvis. Love you always.
@@lamechcurry-bes4595Elvis never claimed that style if music as his invention nor he ever claimed that he wrote songs written by others! So Elvis stole NOTHING it's your brain that was stolen if you even has one😂😂😂😂
@@lamechcurry-bes4595if Elvis stole that music he did not invent then black people stole a lot of musical instrument and devices that white people invented such as pianos, gutars, drums, base, saxophones, trumpets in general, accordions, violins, electric guitars and base, microphones, synthesizers, mandolins, recording devices that were made by white people which black people used! Wonderful performance all those years ago still locks terrific. He was the best singer and mover and the most georgeous man that walked on the earth. Awesome.⭐
I’m 60 years old and I’m from Switzerland (Lucerne), I’ve been listening to Elvis since I was 10 years old, I watched Elvis' live concert in Hawaii in 1973. I appreciate many kinds of good music, I also know all the songs of Johnny Cash and June Carter (Great) and other great artists. However, Elvis remains the greatest musician and entertainer of all time, but in all his songs, all the power of his soul comes out. One could also say that he gave his whole heart to his listeners. This way is definitely unique and I think it will remain so.
@@gregbromberg5427 nice to see people who know SCOTTY MOORE A GREAT GUITAR PLAY AND WAS A BIG PART OF ELVIS SOUND AND INFLUENCED MANY GREAT GUITAR PLAYERS LIKE JIMMY PAGE
