Exquisite taste, Ed! Always been one of my very favorite Presley albums. The compelling separation of the binaural stereo mix, the superb acoustics in the studio, and the irresistible pure talent of a young Elvis make for a Presley record unmatched in its sweet, sublime inspiration and intimacy.
@THE king's...🎆🎶🌠 Parabéns pelo maravilhoso vídeo! Ameeei, Muito bom saber do nosso querido ELVIS PRESLEY Thank's Bjs!🦋🌟🦋👍🏻👏🏻 🦋🎁🦋ELVIS FOREVER KING🦋🎁🦋👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Analogue Productions released this album a few years back-that’s the one I own. It’s on two 200 gram LPs played at 45 rpm. It sounds spectacular! I can’t rave enough about it! It literally sounds like you’re sitting in the studio with Elvis, his band and the engineers.
You called it Ed - the sound is amazing, my fav track is “ Is it So Strange” the sound is crazy good, on the CD or vinyl. Thanks for reviewing these. TCB Ed ⚡️
Hey Ed whats up Really Nice Record of the Elvis Presley Stereo 57 Essential 1988 sounds like a amazing set plus a Gate Fold which is really Nice , awesome looking Record thanks i thought that was the one i had on audio tape but i think it was another one of outtakes, Nice One Rock on Peace
And the best thing is that these tapes survived the "Erase" attack that RCA did on these binaural 'safety-copies'. How cool that the one employee erasing the tapes had a bad day and overlooked those Elvis boxes. The "Erase" tape boxes on the backcover give proof of how lucky we are.
Got the cassette in 1988 as a kid. While many of my Elvis cassettes have been played out for good and are in the graveyard, this one still sounds fantastic.
I saw this album at tower records , I placed some of these records closer to the front of the store , later I was looking at Elvis cassettes , two store employees told me to not do that again or I would have to leave the store , years later tower records closed all there stores . Always Elvis .
Couldn't agree more Ed, this is one FANTASTIC release!!! The sound is phenomenal and the performances are great. You get to hear Elvis talk and even laugh at the end of one take. Superb!!! As you will know by now I am sure the series eventually went to Volume 6 which was called Such A Night. A brilliant series I still listen to often and of course FTD have now released all of these takes over various releases. As a side note the CD I have from the UK was a picture disc and had 5 extra previously released songs. Awesome!
Fantastic series, do't have the vinyl contemplating getting the new double album 45rpm release. But I do have the Analogue Production SACD release and it sounds PHENOMENAL.
Back in the day I put all my records on cassettes, to listen to them on my Walkman. I didn’t particularly like to listen to the binaural sound on my headphones so this one wasn’t a favorite of mine. 😅
My brother bought these three albums in the late 80's/early 90's. And i wasn't particularly impressed!? I have now bought these three (1-3) on vinyl during the last couple of years and i'm blown away. Such great versions. No comment on sound as i'm not too fussed about it so long as it's not so bad you can't hear it all properly. I have volume 3 & 4 on cd and 5 (sort of) as it was issued as part of Elvis At Stax boxset. I haven't checked if it's all same takes, which doesn't bother me, they should be the same songs anyway. Don't have volume 6, will buy it if it crosses my path. Pasi
I bought this on cassette back when it was originally released. I recall the audio having a warm quality. My only complaint is that these aren't my favorite Elvis recordings, with the exception of "Mean Woman Blues" and "I Beg Of You." Elvis sounds like he's barely awake on "Blueberry Hill" and "Have I Told You Lately?"
Hi Ed, I've just bought a vinyl copy of Stereo 57 many years after having the CD since release, of the six releases in this series only three are available on vinyl, what I think would be nice would be if the powers that be released the other three on vinyl in order to complete the set.
Ed there is a single 45 both in 7inch and 12inch release from this album of mean woman blues / I beg of you with a weird mix of mean woman both in stereo and it has a brilliant with a great photo of elvis all in a 50s style I don't know if it was only released here in the uk the 12inch has a extra track I can't remember at the moment.... I'm not with my record collection .
It was a pity that they never released the other volumes on vinyl only one two and three also Ed they released a single from That album mean woman blues in stereo and it was on 7-inch and they done a 12-inch single
