Hiphop never died, whoever believes that has been sleeping on this Underground, iNdependent great HIphop right here. Elzhi has been making hits since Slum Village, so nothing has changed. The best music is always independent, underground, or unsigned. Mainstream is a corporation, they don't care about music, or its integrity, no they care only about dollars. That's why every song sounds the same, & and the songs are about dumb shit. Thanks for keeping HIphop Alive Elzhi, peace!

Elzhi, you got mad potential, keep it up. Great lyrical ability and nice punchlines! I don't see why people are quick to compare when no one is the god of hip hop?
Its as if you read my mind. I give mad props to Elzhi for this album. the lyrical content and word play is so rich and dope and really wish there was more of this kinda rap today.
I almost cried when i first heard this album coz it was too nice. Just one listen to this album got Elzhi into ma top 5 and now that he'll do a joint with ma fav rapper Joe Budden i couldnt wait for that. Damn this beat sends shivers down ma spine . . .
Joe Budden needs to drop his album asap cause i need to hear that joint with Elzhi.... i also cant wait for what Budden got with Blu too.... those two collabs are gonna be amazing
I gotta say man...Im the biggest Nas stan in the world, so I was a lil taken aback when I heard that Elzhi was going to tackle the classic known as Illmatic. But holy shit, did Elzhi do an unbelievable job. Live instrumentation, and his reinterpretation of cadences and melodies --- he struck an almost flawless balance of paying homage, while also putting his own substantial imprint on it. This is a tough market for talented MC's, but El wont be denied. You've got a new fan homie, for real.
He also wanted to bring the magic and power of illmatic to the new generation that may have missed it amidst the sea of commercial crap rap. much respect to that endeavor.
those dislikes are prolly hard out nas fans that didnt want to see this done, but im one of the hardest nas fans, favourite mc for me but if elzhi didnt come as hard as he did on this mixtape i'd prolly hate.....but he killed it.
im with flipgood, i was a sceptic but when i heard the mixtape from start to finished i was amazed - and when i listened to it blazed I nutted haha.i was too young to appreciate illmatic when it dropped in 94 but elzhi has given me an experience that i would of had if i was 22 back in 94 by taking illmatic and evolving the lyrics/flow for me today. oh and lifes a bitch with my boy royce, favourite track easily
@MoodMuzikFilez Em's first album was released in 96, and i think had some material out before that Elzhi didnt have much material out until 97-98, i like his style from mid 00's to present day the most And about Silla, he only has 1 solo album as far as I know
