For people that didn’t catch it: At the beginning of the episode Emara gave him the money back and said ‘Eid Mubarak’ before she left. Eid is an islamic holiday where children get ‘eidi’ (money) from adults. She is literally mocking him and I loved it
Emara is a pretty good series, glad I ran into it. Granted it's not perfect, but it's fun and entertaining which is what matters. Also i don't know why but the intro i rather like and find it really catchy.
Nice job on Emara the character. All the good of this show would've been worthless if the main character wasn't good, but Emera herself turns out to be the best character of the show
I dunno, her uncle is kind of a badass despite being a normal human. Also, he's pretty much Alex Louis Armstrong from Fullmetal Alchemist and that's enough for me to like him.
Damn, this series is so good! The animation is so expressive and brilliantly conveys the motion, even with the low framerate (the smear frames really work well in this), and it's pretty well written. I love how with each episode we learn more and more about the characters and world through the character interactions and scenery. I can't wait for the next episode!
I can't wait to finish high school and Tawjihi (i'm Arabian ) , I've been drawing for the last 11 years of my life and improving my art talent , I can't wait to study animation!
The short ass wait between episodes is unreal. I love this damn show, thank you so much for your hard work and dedication, this project really shows how much love and passion the staff is putting into each frame
I like how Jasem has gone full Bollywood cop in this one. Too often are police portrayed as bumbling buffoons or as an enemy of the hero, it's nice to see 'em as real characters. And I adore Emara's costume. I just found out that this is a 5-episode mini-series, I hope you folks make more in the future, 5 isn't nearly enough!
It means "Happy Eid"! Eid is an Islamic holiday that's coming up soon. Well, actually, there's 2-4 of them depending on which branch of Islam you follow, but the biggest one is coming up soon.
This is an amazing animation BUT the voice mixing and some sound effects are not done properly for any of the languages. Some voice actors sound like they were recording using desktop microphones, and it ruins the whole experience. However, the music is also incredible and I can tell that you have a very committed composer. Would like to see the audio mixing overall to be improved as the series goes on.
Judging by her arms and the opening, I think we can assume she IS the robot. Though there is the matter of her being poisoned.... unless that was actually a tech virus of some kind.
Ferhog I think she’s a cyborg. I also think her father has to do something with Emara being one. That’s actually the most interesting part of the show for me. And also, probably, that blonde woman and her pals want to get Emara because they want to experiment with her.
Saoirse There’s no “I think”. It’s the most common theory about this show. I meant that this scene is referencing “Neon Genesis Evangelion” and a particular line from the show.
Has a giant gun, uses it as a lighter to threaten burn money. Emara is so funny! Also some of the best car chase scenes I've ever seen, so hilarious! Also seeing Emara interact with her fans was so sweet! I also love the Mom, especially when she says "My Baby!" I really like this series. Shame it is so short, but I hope you get lots of love!
I really like this series, its unique and the style is very nice to look at, and for the most part the dubbing is pretty good, especially for amara herself. Plus its great that there seems to be a new one every week! Always fun to look forward too! Definitly showing my friends
JASSIM IS MASSIVE..... (distant Arabian relative of the Armstrong family?). Such a cute baby, though. ;3; Oh, sneaaaaky little boy. Helpful, though. ^^;;; The cardboard bag guy is super suspicious, c'mon, Emara. Did they seriously use a tranquilizer dart on her?! Yiiikes. Dhabian is so adorkable.
This episode's so good, I love the uncle, he's so Rambo, Mad Bull-esque. Also, Emara's mom's voice actress is improving a lot. I'm not sure how I feel with Emara interrogating a criminal by threatening to burn currency or letting a child lie so she didn't have to go to the police station but I think it kind of works for her character. Can't wait for more.
Yea I’m sure that criminal earned that money fair and square without committing any felonies. 🙄 I’ve seen lots of young male hero’s in media do worse than asking a child to lie, or burning stolen money. Everyone thinks it’s funny and cool when male characters act unconventional. But when a female hero does it suddenly it becomes controversial. Can we please let female hero’s be imperfect like actual humans really are?
The animation style in this is so great and expressive. I can’t wait for the next episode to come out. Also, probably the most sassy Eid Mubarak I have ever heard 😂
I had a friend introduce me to this series. I didn't know I needed a middle-eastern anime about a teashop waitress from Dubai who dresses like an Admiral to fight crime, but I do now.
Wow! The backgrounds and animation had a major upgrade in this episode! I love it! Also, can I say the character designs are awesome!? There's just something really,, idk charming about them, it's partly the art style, but also the colors and shapes make every character interesting to look at! This show kinda reminds me of astroboy! Partly because of the futuristic aesthetic, but mostly it's the vibe, I don't know how to explain it, If there is one criticism I have, I would strongly recommend putting in background music and more sound effects, there where some REALLY cool scenes in this episode that I feel like we didn't get the full effect of because there was no music, even some royalty free music in the background could have worked I feel, It just makes scenes a little akward with no music at all, but I understand this is a small independent team, and that's asking a lot, either way this show is a lot of fun! I wish we could see a tv version of it! With all the money it deserves!
Emara is so adorable! I can’t wait for this show to get more budget so they could do even greater fight scenes and voice acting! And maybe even Emara merch! I would love that Emara plushie the kid had.
The sound design on the minor characters is a lot better this time around; still a little low-quality, but less tinny and doesn't feel as unprofessional as the first episode. I still think the Arabic dubs are better done, but overall it was a delight to see the improvement!
I live this series so much and its only episode 3! The animation is so fun being a little ott, the music is catchy, the background artists do a great job with atmosphere the character designs are beautiful and love the story. Can't wait for more.
This was an un-Erma-spectral time of event for you to make this, nice work as always! I really look up to you as my animation role model! I wish you good health and thank you for this :3
oh my god. i love how this show is able to balance all the awesome action with amazing cartoon physics. this is the type of work I live to see. thank you again for making this show. stay awesome
this is a really good series, I never thought I'd get to tune in once a week for a series ever again since I stopped watching tv so this is kind of nostalgic and super fun, great job team!
Oh no! Our heroine has been captured! Who is the mysterious criminal Solomon? Whose side is Dhabian really on? Will Emara escape the claws of her foes? Find out in the next thrilling installment of.... Emara! (sidenote, can anyone tell me what the other two languages it is uploaded in are?)
They're actually both Arabic. One is the more common used form while the other is the local Emirati dialect. It's been made that way so that Arabs other than locals can fully understand since it can be a bit hard to fully understand a version of the language that you're not used to. And of course there's the English version so people who don't understand arabic can watch it as well. Overall it can be watched by many people which is also why I love this show. Other than the plot as well of course
They're both Arabic. One is called Formal and the other Informal. (Though people also call them different things sometimes) Formal is essentially Classical Arabic. Classical Arabic dubs have a strong audience primarily because anime in the Arab world was (and probably still is dubbed in Classical Arabic). It is historic and is taught in schools but people don't use it in everyday speech, but its widely understood by many Arabs and is sometimes used as some sort of lingua franca if they cannot understand one another's dialect. Printed material is more often than not written in Classical Arabic. Informal is essentially spoken Arabic with various dialects (Emirati, Egyptian, and Lebanese were some I picked up in the show.) It is more realistic for a real world Arab setting as it reflects how Arabs today actually speak.
I saw the phrase "Eid Mubarak" in both of the Arabic episodes, and I looked it up. Is this a nod to how later on we see a lot of people and kids hanging out at the center in regards to having the day off, or to something else?^^ Love Emara so much, and I loved that car chase, so much fun and they barely spoke at all. Had me in stitches! XD
Keali Bjoerk Eid Mubarak is a greeting that means Happy Eid. Eid is an important Islamic festival celebrated two times an year. Culturally children are given 'eidi' a gift of money during eid.
All the work put into this series is absolutely fantastic! The animation amazes me every time with its consistent quality and subtleties. The color work is well done also.
Wish these were longer. I don't care how long I would have to wait for an episode to come out. Cause the longer it takes, the more time being put into it, meaning more quality and longer episodes. Anyways, keep up the great work. Can't wait for the next episode!
I just wanted to say I love this so much and I’m happy to found it. It’s so good and well written. I hope everyone loves as well. I’m so happy and excited for the next episode
