Haha awesome! Would screws help keep the props on in a crash or possibly damage something else by not allowing the props to come off? Whoops! It looks like I will be going against Kelly's advice at 9:10. This will be my first FPV quad. Oh well.

@@Locke93 pretty quick, I’m not sure the actual speed. My brother has a freestyle 2, and I have a hawk pro (6s). Even with flying my hawk pro which tops around 100mpgh, his freestyle still is pretty zippy and I enjoy it.

A bit too fast really. I kept running into stuff!

If he's already a good pilot then go for it. But if he's a beginner, this is not the drone for him.

@@readysetdrone No, other than an older Parrot he has never flown anything. Actually after watching you flying I quickly realized my grandson would probably use it as a weapon against his brothers :)

Hi Daigan. That sounds like a good plan; however, be warned about the EV800D goggles. In my experience, the battery level drops to 1 bar after 20 minutes. It remains at 1 bar for an hour or longer. Then, without warning, the goggles will shut off. I lost a tinyhawk 2 freestyle because of that. To answer your question about getting a Mobula 6 vs tinyhawk 2 freestyle... If you'd like to fly indoors, get the Mobula. The tinyhawk 2 freestyle is great for outdoors. The TX16s is a great radio. 👍 Good luck and have fun!

You could actually get the tinyhawk 3 Ready-To-Fly kit. The quad has guards around the propellers, so you can fly indoors and outdoors on a windless day. Those Emax goggles are definitely entry level, and the battery situation is similar to the EV800D, but they charge with a USB cable, which is really handy. If you have a USB power bank, you can charge while you fly. The EV800D goggles requires a lipo battery to charge while flying. And what's really cool about these Emax goggles is that the screen easily pops off and can be used to share your flight with another person who doesn't like looking in goggles, while you're flying with a different set of analog goggles if you upgrade in the future. The thing about all this is that if you buy cheap, you'll end up buying twice in the long run. Having said that, if you buy higher quality, right off the bat, and don't like FPV, then you're out a lot more money. A lot to think about! 😎

Thanks Ray. My FPV beginner recommendation is the EMAX EZ PILOT bit.ly/EZPilot although I think it is out of stock currently. Part of the challenge is setting up the quads in Betaflight and binding to your controller. I definitely recommend any RTF (ready to fly) as a beginner. Those come with a controller that is already bound.

With the drone plugged in, but disarmed, push the left stick left and the right stick up. That will put you into the OSD menu where you can change VTX settings and many other things!

It should work fine. Just follow the binding procedure for all of EMAX's BNF drones. But remember, you can only bind one drone at a time to your RTF Transmitter

If you are fairly new to FPV, I would get the one with the ducts around the props. TinyHawk 2 is my favorite.

@@readysetdrone i ended up getting the Tiny Hawk 2. But ever time i try using it it will go up and drift to one side. I need to adjust the trim but i am not sure how. And i did get the one with the prop cages

You have to do that in Betaflight. Basically, you can adjust your switch to be in Angle or Horizon. Horizon will give you some stabilization but still allow for flipping. For Acro, you set the switch OUTSIDE of the Angle or Horizon setting in Betaflight. I use a 3-way switch, so I can have all 3 settings on one switch.

I’ve a TH2 coming in from Banggoods and I was hoping to change the connector to XT30 and use some 650s. Let me know if you’ve tried that and what happened?

I'm not sure I understand what you're referring to. Do you mean angle mode vs acro mode? Or prop rotation direction?

Oh ok, that's interesting. The way FPV controls generally work (this is called mode 2), is the left stick up and down is throttle, which makes the quad go faster/slower or higher/lower in altitude. The left stick moving left and right rotates the drone left and right (like turning your head to look left and right). The right stick pulled down, pitches the quad back (like looking up towards the sky), the right stick pushed up/forward, pitches the quad down towards the ground. The right stick left and right, rolls the quad left and right (like moving your ear to your shoulder). I hope that all makes sense.

@@PandaGirlMay well there is 4 different types of modes you can do for your controller/radio transmitter. Mode 1 (right stick throttle). Mode 1 inverted. Mode 2 (right stick throttle). Mode 2 inverted.

Hello - I would not recommend this drone as your first. I'd definitely suggest a TinyHawk II or TinyHawk S. And it won't work with a smartphone - you'll need some 5.8Ghz analog goggles. Finally, I've been using the X-Lite controller from FRSky. I hope that helps.

Get the betafpv lite radio 2. It has fantastic range and real gimbals. And any pair of box goggles.

FrSky is trying to make break compatibility with SPI receivers. You'll need the XJT Lite controller module and make sure you have the right ACCESS firmware to make sure the module works. There's a few videos on the subject from Bardwell and other creators. It's kind of a pain in the ass and after finding out FrSky are being super shady about it I decided to go with a Jumper T12 Pro since it has FrSky D8 built into it.

A good next step in terms of a radio controller would be the Jumper T12 Pro since it's both compatible with the FrSky D8 that the EMAX quads use AND you can bind multiple models to it. That way you can bring both quads with you and flip to the Race for smaller areas and then over to the Freestyle for larger ones. It's on the cheaper side of $90 if you opt for it to be shipped from china, otherwise it's $105ish from a US retailer.

Depending on how thick the paint is, it could affect performance, but you could definitely try!

The race is faster because it's lighter so you cant fly it in winds as well but the freestyle is a little heavier so it can fly in winds better. The freestyle also can recover from falls better and has little to no propwash (shaking while turning arround) while the race does

You will need an FRSKY transmitter as it’s designed to work with these.
