Embracing Age as an Artist 

Hi Gwen. I just turned 63 and I’m retired and doing what I want. What a great time of our lives to be alive. You look great and have a youthful heart. Thank you for all you do. I so enjoy your show. ❤

Gwen I love you too. I am old and still trying, making a wonderful mess. I went to my painting class today and all I painted was a mess, it was one of those days. What the hell, I drank coffee and thought I will do better next time when I am in the zone. You look great at eighty because you are still working at life. You are a shining star.

Thank you for those words! I am 69 and I started to paint only a few years ago and I am going to follow your advice! As you said, I don't feel my age, I feel a lot energy within me and I am going to enjoy it.

Happy 80th 🎂 and thanks for the encouragement!! I just turned 75 and I just started painting during the lockdown. Wanted to start a new hobby but it turned into SO much more. I’m expressing myself with that carefree feeling you were talking about! I don’t care what others think OR like! But guess what, I just sold my 32nd abstract at our local coffee/art bar! 😂 I guess CRAZY is the new 40!

Happy Birthday Gwen! My 80th is coming up next month. Like you, I have figured it out - old ladies can get by with a whole lot we'd never have dared at a younger age. We're bolder and more willing to take risks - and I can tune out just about anyone who dares to complain or question. Wish I'd felt this way at 30 or 40! Still feel 16 where it matter. Im almost 50 and have taken care of everyone my whole life! From my little sisters to my neices and nephews than a young mom at 19 and 4 chikdren total then as a young grandma i didnt get a break I love my grandkids but now due to sad circumstances i have my grandsons and mom back at home while my youngest chikd turned 12 . Although ive done art my whole life i didnt study art now with everything at my fingertips i have begun. This summe after a huge argument with my daughter(grandsons mom) i knew either i had to figure something out or breakdown and run away from it all! I felt unfulfilled i felt bitter anyway i turned my shed into a studio and its helping although termite damage help me also decide i need a bigger shed and this spring i begin that. Meanwhile im studing fundementals again and even digital art. Trying to make time to make art everyday! And listening to JulieaCameron as well😊
