I can see what you are looking at, but the cap itself was a little but wavy as I held it in my hand when shooting the video. The design actually sewed very well, parallel to the bottom seam as it should have. (We have run thousands of copies of that design at shows, so I had a chance to adjust it so it embroidered well.). If you are making a design for caps, it is important to sequence the design to sew center-out and ensure the embroidery area is properly stabilized or there will be distortion. It is not hard to learn to do this but sometimes it might take a few tries especially when trying a new type of cap that you aren’t used to. Popular recently are stiffer, taller caps, for example, that have to be worked a little (some use steam), and maybe a couple of layers of backing plus some small adjustment in the digitizing technique that, once applied, cause the caps to embroider very nicely.

Shelley Chandler it’s called the wide cap hoop. Just the hoop that’s normally used for ballcap sewing with these machines.

@@shelleychandler3589 if purchasing the HCD-1501 or the HCU-1501, both machines come with a full cap kit of 2 wide cap hoops, the cap stretcher and driver (all or which are required for cap sewing). On the HCS-1201 Voyager and the HCH-701 Journey, the cap sewing kit is available as an option that can be bundled in with the purchase. The option is simply called the Wide Cap Sewing kit and comes with 1 hoop, the driver and stretcher. If you're going to be sewing caps in high volume, it is recommended to get a second cap hoop if buying the Voyager or Journey, but again with the HCU or HCD, 2 cap hoop come standard with the machine in the crate.
