In this tutorial, I am showing you how to drop your cap driver lower. this is going to decrease the bounce you are seeing in your structured caps when stitching, in turn decreasing the amount of needle breaks that you will see. once I made this adjustment, paired with the adjustment of dropping your presser foot for each needle on your machine, I am able to use needles as thin as a 60/8 size and not have needle breaks.
if you have any video tutorials you would like to see, please leave a comment and we will get something posted ASAP.
thank you!

Thank you for sharing Keith. I'm trying to lower mine but I can't get the screws to loosen. Those suckers are on TIGHT!

They are very tight! If you have a small socket tool you can use that to help get a little leverage trying to break it loose

How we’re able to turn the cap head (if that’s what it’s called) to the left and right? You know when it was beeping. Thx

I was using the arrows on the monitor screen of the machine. I have a video that’s not to far down my timeline that shows how to use the monitor and it’s functions for the ricoma em1010 model! That may be helpful

You have a techniques how to get cap to actually sew out designs passed 2.25 ? Design will be slightly larger and the machine auto adjusted design size to something way smaller

Which machine are you on? I have a video on here that gives the full breakdown of the screen controls on the em1010. You have to change the parameters. Hit my email if you just want pics on how to change it. AWG.Creations@gmail.com

Just break up the middle fabric by hand. Makes it much softer and stops the needle breaks.
@AWGCreationsLLC

That’s smart! But alter every hat, every time. Rather than alter your machine one time?
@printninja3d982
@printninja3d982 11 месяцев назад
@@AWGCreationsLLC Massage every hat for several reasons. 1. Altering the machine still might not work and you risk damaging it if you make a mistake. You’d essentially need to use heat or heat press anyway on top of machine altering. 2.. Heat and Steaming re hardens when it cools off so I’ve literally had needles start to break again mid job. I’ve had to use the steamer continuously during jobs also. Breaking the material is permanent and the stitches cover the soft area. 3. It takes less than 30 seconds to break up the seam. You can do all the hats before hand, basically at any time of your process , even pre process at receiving.

What size needle do you use?
@AWGCreationsLLC
@AWGCreationsLLC Год назад
I mainly use a 60/8 needle, even on structured hats.

What about the bill of the hat hitting the needle head
@AWGCreationsLLC
@AWGCreationsLLC 5 месяцев назад
I put painters tape on the bill to keep any rub marks off my hat. No way to keep it from hitting
