You shouldn't worry too much. Do what makes you happy and do it at your own pace. Also keep in mind you're probably way more critical about yourself than you are about other people, at least I generally notice people around me comparing themselves to others are taking the top 5% and then saying "why can't I also be like that". There will always be things others will do faster, but its a marathon not a sprint. Not being the fastest in every single thing does not invalidate your accomplishments, and relatively speaking a few years more or less, or that last 10% is nothing in the big scheme of things

Damn 😩 I feel this song so much 😭 I've been studying engineering for the past 10 years. Almost everyone I know has graduated already. They have their jobs, they started their own families, etc. I can't help but feel so left out sometimes. I stopped for a total of 2 years because of my mental health. I have struggled so much. Hopefully, this year I'll be able to finally graduate 🥹

@@supern0v477 not really. From where I'm from, it's usually a 5 year program. I'm taking chemical engineering. Based on my experience at the school where I'm studying at, few students graduate on time but most students extend about 1-2 years. I'm also not alone bc I know quite a lot of students who were delayed for more than 2 years and we're classmates this semester. I honestly don't think that the students are 100% to blame because we are in this situation. It's not normal that a lot of students are not graduating on time. There must be something wrong. It's partly the environment we are in (our department and some professors, but that's another topic lol). If engineering is what you really want and it's your passion, you should definitely go for it. I'll be rooting for you 😊

@@nopetfout5426 I have an aunt who got pregnant early on in life and was unable to continue school, but after her second kid she decides to give it a try. She's now a teacher Also happened to my uncle, he drop out if highschool for 5 years until deciding to try it out again, so yeah it's never really too late Edit: my uncle is very successful now but he figured he had a passion in teaching so he also became a teacher

@@nopetfout5426eh, imagine working hard and still being lumped with everyone else who didn’t. everyone in life has to work different amounts of “hard” and pretending that if someone works hard enough they will live life without regrets is what fucks everything up, from my parent’s marriage, to my failing grades in school because I’m sick and fucking tired of trying to deal with everything else because I’ve put obligations on myself…

The lyrics hit me like a truck. I feel like If I don’t become successful a few years from now I’d become a complete and utter failure, and It’s constantly in my mind. What if I fail in the future? What if I’m not successful enough? I’m 15, and a lot of people around my age are still so young but thriving. Like they’re actually doing something to chase after their dreams (and they’re doing a great job at it) I still can’t help but get paranoid over my future, I don’t really know how to pursue the career that I want or what I’ll do when other ppl think negatively of my career choice. I know shouldn’t be comparing other ppls success, but seriously, I just can’t help but feel jealous of them. Like I am actually late to the party LOL.

Im 34 and I resisted my dad wanting me to go to college for years, finally got my CNA, and now about to apply to nursing school. I realized a lot of nurses dont have a lot of empathy anymore, and I rage about it on a regular basis. I hope all the young people do what makes them happy in college. Its not your parents life or career, but in this instance my dad was spor on and I miss him daily for the last six years. He was also a nurse. ❤

@@emilyscloset2648 well I'm the third oldest of 11 kids, and i know I'll be the one taking care of my grandparents when they get sick. I'd rather be trained, and do it right. Plus my dad was always on me about doing this as a job because he knows how compassionate I am for the elderly. He passed away about 6 years ago, and I only regret I didn't do this sooner so I could get his advice. I'm sure he's haunting me though, so I know he knows I listened to him finally. As for staffing, we don't have that issue too badly here in Tennessee, as there's a company called shift key where you can pick up extra shifts for other facilities, and make extra cash on your short rotation week. We do ok with employees, but some of them really don't need to be in a care field with their attitudes. 🤷🏼😂

Such a great song, I’m 24 but I still relate to this song. I don’t really know where I’m going in life but it important to run your own race, and not care about what others think. I've been listening to this song for a year straight and this is my anthem tbh. no career, no real prospect on what I'm going to do with my life, just sitting on the couch, watching everyone achieve my dreams, not knowing what I could do to reach even a smidge of the success others have. I don't think there's a more relatable song out there and I thank you for it. sad to see how the industry acts, how real artists and musicians get pushed aside, while nepotism babies get everything shoved down their throat.. Honestly finding this song is really helping me through a bad place rn I'm 17 and a junior in HS and when I look around all I see is all of these other teens already have their lives planed out and a good income hell some of them even already live on their own not to mention all the things from people my age on socials being so far ahead in life already while I still don't even know if I WANT to go to college And if I do what my career path will be so hearing this from someone else is actually really helping me rn.
