It's winter in Zion, which means, it's great hiking weather! There are 3 separate trails to the Emerald Pools. I chose to go up the Middle Pools Trail and then back down the Lower Pool Trail. It takes just over 2 miles to go all the way to the Upper Pool and back down.
The shuttle system has shut down for the season and that means you can drive your own car in Zion! It's one of the best reasons to visit in the winter months!
Thank you for joining me on this adventure! I can't thank you enough for being part of our small outdoor adventure channel!

I hiked that trail on 31 January 1998. I’ve wanted to go back to the park but unfortunately that hasn’t happened yet. Thanks for the memory.

Such a magical place. I love the four corner States. There's something very special about that area of the United States. Thank you, for taking us on your trips.

Just beautiful. Those massive walls above the top pool were spectacular and with that cloud hovering in, it gave it an æthereal, magical quality. Like fairies could be living there or something. Still, that's winter. I imagine it looks quite different in summertime.

Hiked up there in July maybe a decade ago and it was beautiful with all the leaves on the trees. And the water was clear in the upper pool (at least by the cliff face). Love Zion’s National Park…been going there since 7-8yrs old back in the 70’s. Love all of Utah’s parks but Zions and Escalante are something extra special. You should check out the Indian ruins along the Escalante river (Jakobs Hanley(?) Arch), they go up 30 miles along the river, including it’s tributaries. Amazing stuff as long as Lake Powell hasn’t flooded everything, which hasn’t been the case for decades now.
