In today's video we are at emergency repairs on the MF7618 and its not what we expected to find! Father Phil thought it seemed like a brake was gone but thankfully when we crack her open thats not what we find! Also we finally get around to replacing the rubber on our Fleming yard scraper after abou 12 years of scraping!

Hi Phil . I have a Massey similar thing happened. I had a crack in the air breeder cap letting water in . Only a small amount will turn the oil that colour. It took 2 full backend changes of oil to sort it .

Evening all. Better to be safe than sorry And Farther Phis is perfectly correct. The people who design these tractors!!! Should be made service them a few months after sale. Then they would see why a lot of blue language is used during repairs.

Have found with ours that the disc goes black and hard before they burn out and go noisy, have changed them before they let go and had no issues. Never looks like there is much problem with the disc either!

😍 the videos, was brought up on a beef farm, parents moved too farm on the Orkneys when I was in me 20s..I stayed in wales and worked in construction,I do miss some of the farm work

If the seal goes on the lollipop on the slurry tanker it can leak slurry or water into the back end of a tractor if the tanker is left full over night

Macerator seals cause the same trouble carry slurry back in the return into back end

Interesting another reason to stick to a splash plate. With water in the oil and the freezing weather would really affect the oil for the brakes.

@@jasondavies4887 yeah know if a Deere in a dealers getting 30k of work after back end filling with slurry, plenty crowds using a double seal but I would think the motor being seperate with a stub shaft between would be safest design

Discs are probably gone glazed prob need to be changed as they will start to break up shortly if they are starting to make noise

Were the bolts all tight? Could it be they gotten a bit loose giving that brake vibration and putting it back has clamped it back solid again

Could there be condensation in the drum you pulled the oil out of. Did you ever try that square bail mover you welded up.

It was unopened 5 gallon barrels we put in bit disappointing if there was water in one. I did yes moving rounds and squares just haven’t filmed using it yet

I have a 6480 that when I have my foot on the brakes neither the lift arms or the spool valves will work? Is this due to,the brakes starting to go or Is it something else ? The backend filters were changed around 400 hours ago

It’s not the brakes going but it could be the hydraulic pump going or a problem in the block

Phil its the fiber on the discs dries out last massy i done 6840?? Was the exact same oul dry grinding noise and discs looked perfect but new discs cured it. Our JD 4255 has started doing it this past few weeks and it looks like a real pig to change😢😢

If u had used that tractor on a dump trailer or something like it there could be watery oil from another tractor that was sitting in the ram of a trailer
