Happy 4th of July. Glad you got it fixed. You could also take a bolt with thread end in soldering iron and use head of bolt to weld the crack together also but glad your trick worked!

I might have the guys come out next week and replace that fitting but I'm sure that fix would probably hold for a while. LOL
