ELP was an excellent studio band, using all the resources available to deliver the best recordings, but they were also a great band in their live performances, not only playing the studio versions, but playing different versions, even improvising and giving a great show, often extravagant. They also took advantage of the technology available at the time to provide the best sound to the audience.
