The 2nd guitarist you can hear is Simon Tomkins - Emily's guitar teacher. He backs her in most of her guitar videos. Sometimes he's in the video, sometimes he's not. And its Emily's home studio - you can see the corner of her piano towards the end of the song. Emily's my best ever discovery on You Tube - no one sings like she does, she plays multiple musical instruments, and writes her own songs too.
Hi Shane, it's Mick in the UK. Thank you for reacting to Emily's cover of Ordinary World. The multi-talented, multi-instrumentalist, multilingual singer/songwriter that is Emily Linge makes this an extraordinary world. She is still 14 and never ceases to amaze us. There are over 120 songs on her RU-vid channel to choose from. I can suggest Queen's Don't Stop Me Now which she did as a thirteen year old, or more recently Dan Hill's Sometimes When We Touch, but Adele's Easy On Me is always a winner, because Adele couldn't play her own piano accompaniment. Once again, Shane, thank you for today's reaction. Take care, kind regards, Mick.
Hello my friend. Great comment. Just an FYI, but I just submitted another list of songs to Highly, and both Dan Hill’s song, and the Queen song were on it! 😉
The backing track is probably played by Simon, her guitar teacher. He plays on many of her videos. Also, you wondered about where this studio is. It is in her home.
Hi Shane, you are going to quickly learn that there is nothing that Em can’t do. Her lower register and vibrato is what first attracted me to her, but she has a huge range. Go look at her videos and find one called Varsog. She sang it in Norwegian, and she doesn’t speak the language. Her dad is from there, and she did it for him. She is even dressed in a traditional Bunad. 😢You may not have noticed, but she never uses sheet music. Not for the music or the lyrics. Including in Varsog. She does everything from memory. Last thing, if you look in her liner notes, you will see that Simon Tomkins does the other guitar part in the background. He is her teacher and a family friend, and he was the guitarist in her mom’s band. 😊
If you want to check Emily's higher ranges, she did a superb cover of Eric Carmen's "All By Myself"? With the penultimate chorus, she makes a crescendo up to a very high note (I've been trying to work out how high), Then holds that note for four bars and then decrescendos back down in perfect steps, it's unbelievable especially as other headliners (even Celine Dion) have not really done such a superb job of it! This girl is really special. She's also done a brilliant cover of Radiohead's "Creep", she's got so much potential, what with her piano and Guitar skills and her songwriting! Shane, I look forward to more of your critiques of her works. Cheers mate ~ R.
Any of her songs would be great to react to but after Olivia Newton John passed she did just a terrific cover of Hopelessly Devoted To You and you get to see her displaying her piano skills on that one too.
Very interesting young lady with a definite British accent. Ok, I've checked Wiki and she has a British mother, that would explain things. She also has an excellent range of covers on her RU-vid Channel. Now 15 years old she is heading in the right direction.
@@patsmith8035 you got it right for sure, I was just getting you over the target a bit closer 😊 As far as talent, she became my favorite singer the first song first verse I ever heard her sing. She was barely 12.
@@bradtaggart5509 I recently attended a friend's funeral and Emily and Sina's version of "Morning has broken" was played. friends could not believe she was only 12 years old at the time
