Emily Maitlis' Honest Opinion On The Prince Andrew Interview 

I saw on another channel a correspondent saying Andrew was high on self belief and arrogance but low on self awareness and intelligence. Its hard to disagree with that

Is it the most important Royal interview in our lifetime though? I would say that Princess Diana's 1995 interview with Martin Bashir was a big deal. I know there's was some controversy around how he obtained the interview but it will still go down in history as one of the most iconic interviews with a member of the Royal family. I don't think the interview with Andrew sits on the same level as the one with Diana but that's just my opinion.

Emily Maitlis is an amazing journalist. During Prince Andrew's interview, she asked superb original & follow-up questions. She was firm and yet respectful. She never asked soft-ball questions & never let Prince Andrew bully her. Love ❤ you Ms. Maitlis!

It wasn't an interview. It was an autopsy, with Emily wielding the scalpel and just cut, cut, snip, cut, cut to find out what is so rotten with the corpse.

Emily is widely recognised as doing a great job in this interview as did the whole of the news night team especially Sam.

I'll have to watch the interview again. To see what was so amazing.

I think she done well not to fall off her chair laughing at the pompous oaf's claim that he patronised Pizza Express.

That was one of the best interviews of all time. She did the greatest job. I could not have allowed him to keep on lying and not interrupt him or laugh to his face

Afterall,she didn't have to do much, she just let him dig his own grave and he didn't even realise.

She was very good. Sometimes good is a bit understated which she was. IMO this made him feel at ease.

Not with a man, you can tell by his arrogance and smugness that he underestimated the women involved in getting this interview, he wouldn't have bothered with paxman or someone like him. Our superpower is men underestimating women often a very big mistake.

So the interview achieved that we know more or less the truth about this devious character. With the result that a paedophile predator is still at large living a lavish life, gag money of £12 Mil paid by his mother which is also tax payer’s money. Not even a statement of regret from the perpetrator, no consequences under the law. Too honorable? This person has no honor or shame.

I watched the wonderful two part documentary on this interview. Brilliant viewing. What he said during a trade mission in some middle east country hoping to sell them fighter jets and he bulldozed in off the bat by saying "no need to buy these planes, just lease them.......". I then saw a video with a Royal policeman (YT) who confirmed that Andrew is a despicable person (treating everyone like crap, calling everyone an f'ing baffoon). Andrew knows nothing about real life, I bet he doesn't even know what a milkman or postman is, never seen a bill nor knows what they're for. One thing Jeffery got right (about Andrew) was that he is a 'useful idiot'.

It’s fascinating how many men here making comments are so obviously sexist. She is simply expressing her hard work of research and how she prepares for interviews.

She was blunt too many times with him but he missed all the cues. He is that dumb.

I find her portrayal by Gillian Anderson not at all like she really is. She also seems much younger than in the movie.

Fascinating and complex job to be an interviewer. In PAs mind he no doubt thinks he did nothing wrong given she was 17 and chose prostitution, and feels HE is the victim. It explains the arrogance and calm demeanor. And many will agree with him contrary to what the media is pushing. Age 10 in the UK is the age of criminal responsibility, age 14 in the US. So how can she not be held accountable for brining other girls in? How is she a TOTAL victim as the media are portraying?

Was it a success? I mean it made a splash and raised her profile, but i wonder whether long term interviewees will refuse to be interviewed : he hung himself rather than got hung but still i wonder long term whether it will be overall positive.

Her talking Gods name in vain and thinking of four letter words is shameful. What we need is journalists who are real Christians who would never dream of using words which expose your filthy mind or disrespecting God our Creator and King and judge.
