Arguably from a technical standpoint Eminem's newer albums such as kamikaze, mtbmb part a & b is some of his greatest works to date. with these albums he really shows his technical ability such as cadence, wordplay, lyricism, flow and so much more if you really take the time to break it down (or watch some youtubers who are really good at breaking down such as FlawdTV or KnoxHill) though from a listener/replayability standpoint I can understand why it wouldn't appeal to more casual or newer fans to rap, though that isn't to say that there are a few bangers that you can listen to. The album recovery though also is very good if you break it down but I think the thing that actually made it a "flop"/failure for Eminem is that he first came out and blew up in a time where rap was very rascist (no-one wanted to sign him because he was white) but he was so different to everyone else bein so nasty on the mic, aggressive with his words, technically brilliant and controversial with it, later on playing into the Slim shady persona, and because of his difference people absolutely ate it up though after recovering (no pun intended) from his drug abuse he wrote more emotionally and more about his problems and wasn't rapping the way that "he was supposed to do". Of course though his earlier works definitely is not to be looked down upon whatsoever. Personally I liked the album and had no problems with it and though it was clever but in any case music is in the end is subjective (though there can be objective measurements but I wont go into that now since your probably not reading this for that).

Forever wasn't even a Drake song to me. It seemed like Kanye, Drake, and Lil Wayne were doing their verses in order for Eminem to spit fire, he's going double the speed with double the complexity. I agree that was one of Lil Waynes better verses though, some people like him for verses he did that flow like trash though. Remember, Kanye rewrote his shit for 2 days, cancelled meetings, to try and matches Em's verse.

I agree he went double the speed, as for complexity on forever, I don’t see it. He went double the speed in the tech nine song, speedom and you can see his complex lyrics in that song. Forever was fast and powerful, but the lyrics weren’t that special. In my opinion.

*Super interestin analysis* 🤙🏼👌🏼🤙🏼 I did notice that "healthier" Eminem just didnt have that magic, or fire of his earlier work. I love his verse on Forever, but now I'm thinkin perhaps more his energy/presence, more so than the lyrics, not sure, you have given me somethin to think about in regards to his verse on Forever. His verse on No Love is 🔥 the flow is absolute magic. I also liked the original 90s song, was a huge hit in the UK 😂 for all I know the 90s version itself oculd be a remake/sample of an 80s or 70s song lol.

I thought that way for a while but relistening to Kamikaze and all of his old music and it's literally the same amount of emotion. Even some songs on Music to be Murdered by, I would hold to the same level as anything on MMLP2 (which is top 3 Em albums IMO)

@@eBoard3R it’s a great jam and still stands the test of time in my book. I’m going to definitely be doing more like this on Eminem and other rappers. Anything specific you’d like to hear about?

@@MoshMob nothin specific per se, I enjoyed hearin your opinions, you explained why you thought and felt that way and referenced verses/songs, it gave me sonethin specific to think about when next listenin to the song/s. you made me think, and analyse. I like hearin opinions different to mine as well as similar, it's how we learn and grow. It's also nice to look back at lyrics/songs every few years, as We ourselves change as opposed to listenin to them without thinkin about it every now and then.
