MGK won a VMA for alternative genre yesterday while Em didn't win anything. I am a huge Em fan but MGK is doing well banging Megan Foxx and getting recognition. Em destroyed him with killshot in that battle but Mgk benefited from the war.
I'd never listened that far into the track before 🙈 I never gave the track a chance.... But the way he rode the cadence was impeccable.... Plus he absolutely ruined him
Everlast was the frontman of House of Pain...biggest hit Jump Around. Then he moved onto a solo career as Everlast, biggest hit "What it's Like". This beef kicked off and he wrote something like "Haley's comet", but play on words. His group he rapped with was called "Dialated Peoples". Nobodies really. DJ Lethal was the House of Pain DJ but he left and joined Limp Bizkit which Fred First was the frontman of. During this beef, Limp Bizkit and Eminem were cool and were going to do a track together dissing Everlast but DJ Lethal went on an interview or TV and said Everlast could would whoop Em's ass which blew that up and Eminem made a diss song called "Girls" about them. I was a fan of all of them (Everlast the least) and was grabbing all of them as they came out. For those that don't know, Eminem and Limp Bizkit made two songs together..."Eminem ft. Fred durst - our house" and "Limp Bizkit ft. Eminem - Turn me loose". I know I know...long comment but short for history lol
Fun fact... Eminem produced a whole 2pac album... (Post death).... "Loyal to the game"... He asked permission from Pac's mum by writing her a letter.... 🔥🔥🔥
It makes me think that during EM's entire career he always want smoke. He loves it. He is always waiting, wanting, desires some smoke to lay somebody to rest. He probably wakes up each day counting the days down to body a rapper. It's like air. He can't breath without the smoke. Crazy!!!!!
Bro AFter this beef , EVERLAST actually got jumped in DETROIT during his show ..they beat his ass as EMINEM SAID... Nd his rap career ended too after this beef
@@brandonclick5911 yeah but that was before this beef, why em has lines about him having a heart attack and such. "I'll punch you till your heart kicks in gear" hits so much harder when you know.
the beef started because of this simple line. "Cock my hammer, spit a comet like Halley I’ll buck a .380 on ones that act Shady". everlast came out and said he was trying to reference eminem with the shady line, but he had no idea his daughters name was haily for the previous line. whether he meant it or not you can understand why it set em off lol.
everyone who came AFTER everlast trying to diss hailey ..... should have learned from whitey ford ..... white ACCIDENTALLY dissed hailey and em fucking lost it .....
It wasn't just that line that set this song into motion. Em and D12 released "I remember" as an answer to the line you mentioned and then Everlast dropped another diss at Em called "Whitey's Revenge" where one of the lines was "Better run and check your kid for your DNA". That line is what lead to Quitter.
When he says Fred on this he does mean Fred Durst, lead of Limp Bizkit. After this song, Fred publicly sided with Everlast so Em dissed Fred/Limp Bizkit next on Girls.
"I Remember".. is the first em response .. An everlast is Whitey ford from the group House of pain in the mid 90s ..Em was playing around in the first track an whitey said some shit about his daughter an so em went in on this one4.. Think it started with Everlast saying something in an interview that sparked I remember from eminem, cause i dont think there was track from whitey. I Remember - Eminem Whitey's Revenge - Everlast Quitter - Eminem
Been waiting for this!! Everlast was a member of House of Pain. He went on to put out a hit single, What It's Like. He dissed Eminem on Dilated People's cd. The chorus was something like.....Buck a 380 at Slim Shady. Once he said Hallie's name it was over for him. He did have a heart attack. Thanks for all you do man!!
The Everlast vs. Eminem beef was the first story I ever reported on for MTV News. I’m a huge fan of both artists. The timeline: Dilated Peoples “Eardrums Pop” remix (Everlast verse only) > “I Remember” (Eminem) > “Whitey’s Revenge” (Everlast) > “Quitter” (Eminem) > “Searching for Bobby Fischer” (Evidence). While it’s easy to view this battle through a modern lens - and with Eminem’s iconic track record - it’s important to remember this was the year 2000. Everlast was among the first white rappers to have credibility in hip-hop. He was part of Ice-T’s Rhyme Syndicate while he was still in high school and released his debut solo album in 1990. DJ Lethal was his DJ. After a falling out with Warner Bros., Everlast, Lethal, and Danny Boy O’Connor formed House Of Pain. The first album went platinum; the 1994 followup went gold. HOP split up in 1996. Everlast's Whitey Ford Sings the Blues, mixing hip-hop and rock, dropped in 1999. It went double platinum. His 1999 song with Carlos Santana won a Grammy. Everlast is only three years older than Eminem, but had done all of this by the year 2000. Em’s disses were reserved mostly for pop stars in 1999/2000, so Everlast coming for him was a big deal. Eminem dissed corny white rappers like Vanilla Ice but gave shoutouts to Serch and Everlast on The Slim Shady LP. But when Everlast ran into Eminem at a show somewhere, he felt like Eminem big timed him. So he decided to layer in a subliminal diss on the Dilated remix. (It’s hard to believe in 2021, but the "Halley's Comet" double-entendre wasn’t intentional.) This song was recorded before The Marshall Mathers LP was even out. Eminem answered back with "I Remember," which sparked Everlast's "Whitey's Revenge." Em was looking at possible prison time after he saw Kim kissing someone at a nightclub and slapped the guy with an unloaded pistol. (Everlast, for what it’s worth, had a weapons charge in the 90s.) This time, Everlast brought up Em's daughter on purpose, after learning he'd touched a nerve. "Quitter" came back even harder, with Em inviting D-12 in homage to the way Tupac added Outlawz to "Hit 'Em Up.” Lethal, now in Limp Bizkit, was asked on MTV's TRL who he thought would win in a fistfight. Limp was cool with Eminem, but Lethal toured as Everlast's DJ before he'd even finished high school. He said Everlast, which is what caused Eminem to fire at Limp Bizkit with D-12's "Girls." (Evidence, feeling Dilated was unfairly caught in the crossfire, answered Em with “Searching for Bobby Fischer.”) Everlast, for his part, acknowledges Eminem’s accomplishments and said in an interview with Talib Kweli that mentioning Eminem’s daughter was over the line. There's a mutual respect here.
I had to laugh when MGK came at Eminem kicking the same “I’m the younger you!” angle Eminem used on Everlast, who is only three years older than Em. “I’m what you used to be / shit you was me in '92.” - Eminem (then 28) to Everlast (then 31). “He like, ‘damn, he a younger me.'” - MGK (then 28), to Eminem (then 45).
Everlast had an Album that came out in 98 called Whitey Ford Sings the Blues after his heart attack. Hence the line kill Whitey. Everlast was really pretty relevant around this time.
Maaaan I've im so heavy with your vids especially Marshall Mondays, but seeing the proto type hat you got there, I can't wait toll you put it out, definitely feeling that too, keep up what your doing fam, you're killin it
Everlast and his group House of Pain had one of the biggest songs “jump around” in the late 80’s, early 90’s. It was always playing at College parties.
What made these songs so damaging back in the day was Em would take their own styles and flip it on them. Hence the chorus here. I Remember is a better example of this cuz he was singing the blues like Everlast started doing. Everlast btw was part of The Syndicate, which was an Ice-T put together collective in the early 90's, started House Of Pain with Jump Around, and then quit rap to make a folk/blues album that had 2 hits on it. Also that's why Hail Mary was written like that, to make fun of Ja Rule for stealing Pac's image after his death
Everlast was in House of Pain, then DJ Lethal left him and went with Fred Durst to form Limp Bizkit. Then Everlast tried dissing Eminem to be relevant again, and EM destroyed him,
Everlast was the frontman for House of Pain ("JUMP AROUND!"). He released a record under the moniker "Whitey Ford," which was like a mix of folk and hip-hop. Also, he had recovered from a heart attack or stroke or something, which is why all the references to his heart problems.
Quick history: Everlast was one-third of the group *House of Pain* with DJ Lethal (& somebody else I don't remember). Best know for their song _Jump Around_ . Everlast went solo in mid-90's & released an album 'Whitey Ford Sings The Blues'. DJ Lethal went on to become a member of *Limp Bizkit* . Around the time Everlast's solo album released, at like age 29 or 30, he suffered a massive heart attack & almost died.
Wow. Haven't heard this in 20+ years! Used to have it on a Mini-Disc. House of Pain were definitely world famous in the mid '90s. Remember hearing their name a lot.
I guarentee you've heard an Everlast track. He was big in the 90s with his band too. "Jump Around" and "Top of the Morning" by House of Pain were everywhere But that switch up is why everyone wanted you to listen
Cool intro, here are some Eminem Diss Tracks you haven't done.. I Remember (Everlast diss) Girls (Limp Bizkit diss) Bump Heads (Ja Rule diss) Hail Mary (Ja Rule diss) Bully (Benzino/Ja Rule diss) The Sauce (Benzino/Source diss) Invasion part 1,2,3 (Benzino/Source diss) gonna want to do all 3 at once, short songs The Warning (Mariah Carey diss) Monkey See Monkey Do (not a diss track but a challenge/warning to other rappers)
Everlast was kinda big back then. His 1998 album was very popular (2x platinum). His song "What It's Like" was a bit hit. Then he beefed with Eminem... and that was the end.
Everlast was lead singer of House of Pain, later blew up with Whitey Ford(country rap rock reference). DJ Lethal was the DJ for House of Pain who later joined Limp Bizkit who's lead singer was Fred Durst(Fred reference). Another diss Eminem put out at Everlast was "I remember" it's a little different but goes ham
I can practically guarantee you know who Everlast is and you'd recognize one of his major hits. When it comes to Everlast, generally people react with "ooooooh that guy. I never knew his name, but I've heard this song a billion times" lol 😂😂😂😂 Everlast was the front man of House of Pain, best known for "Jump Around". Let me give my own opinion as a listener for EMINEM and other rappers, Eminem is for me one of the best Rappers of all time, Why? Honestly, I first started getting to know hip-hop music from Slim Shady, after slim shady I continued to hear the Tupac Shakur song, I think maybe Eminem just wants to be appreciated and respected by Hiphop musicians, HipHop logically will sound very lonely without Eminem
@@exoticcar5482 i feel like you can feel more of the aggression in girls, he went for the fucking throat with those bars.. plus i kinda feel like calling people old is kinda dumb, so idk.. Quitter is in the top 10 for me, but way behind girls for sure
@@Quelbischero Girls is a close second but with that one the whole situation was less extreme. He only made that track because of DJ Lethal dissing him months after expressing interest in being on this song. Meanwhile Em is using EVERYTHING about Everlast against him. Everlast actually had a real life heart attack which he constantly mocks and nothing like that doesn't happen in Girls. He even asks his fans to assault Everlast which doesn't happen in Girls. He even makes two parts, one of which spinning the classic Hit Em Up, and that alone makes this diss even more extreme.
“I just think it was some sort of miscommunication,” he said. “I knew that they both admired each other in spite of the beef. Em would say that Everlast was someone who opened the door for guys like him, so I knew there was a respect there. And I knew Everlast to be a student of Hip Hop and someone who appreciates real MC work so he liked Eminem too in that regard.”B-real
