Emma Watson was just nine when she was picked out of a line-up of would-be actors in her school gym to star in a film that would change her life in unimaginable ways. Twenty years on, her Hogwarts days far behind her, Watson is one of Britain’s most bankable stars - not to mention an influential activist lending her voice to causes like gender equality and sustainability.
Ahead of her return to the screen in this December’s Little Women, the actor sat down with fellow activist Paris Lees to reflect on her extraordinary journey so far. Watch the video to see Watson talk candidly about life in the spotlight, turning 30, and the thrill of working with Meryl.

The title should be: talking about feminism, activism and meaning, but you chose to focus on her age, on Meryl Streep and on her being single. Such a nice interview, and such a superficial title.

I know what you mean, but using a title like this may reach viewers who are not attracted to videos that use the words feminism, activism, and meaning (not saying that they are not interested in those things themselves, they just may not be clicking on them). It's a clever way of pulling viewers into a discussion that is more meaningful.

I like Emma, but she needs to think one step longer. Trying to benefit transgender is not good. If others dont want to go to the toliet after a transgender were there, you have to accept their opinions/actions. What if i decided to have a Monster-mask on my face before i go into a toliet, and then cried my eyes out because people didn't want to go in there aftwerwards? You have to respect if they didn't want to go in there, after i was in there.

Yep. The comments here are a woke echo chamber. She seems like a lovely person, but she is naive and the bloke interviewing her is using Emma's innate sense of compassion for his own agenda. He is not being excluded; he can use the men's bathrooms. What about the actual biological women who don't want men in their bathrooms, for a variety of reasons, where is their space, how about their feelings of inclusion and safety? I frequently come across men who present as women in my place of work and treat them as individuals like anyone else. But forcing your way into women's bathrooms while playing the victim card and manipulating people's compassion is neither down to earth nor honest.

How refreshing to have an interview of a female actor where the focus is not on objectifying her. This was an interview with such heart and intellect and I give credit to both Emma and Paris for being such honest grounded women. I wish I could give more then just a thumb up. I wish to give each of you a virtual hug and a real thanks for demonstrating the compassion I wish we had more of in the world and in media.

Do a good job, give to society and recieve in return. What she promotes (what i think she promotes) is something id consider to be obvious, but it seems like it is not. "She has enough money, so it doesnt hurt her" is kind of the argument against your claim, shed do it for the money. Anyway, why does beeing generous mean you have to get hurt? She seems to be well aware that she is luckier than most but her's is still not an easy life, in ways most others can't relate to. That she feels the responsibility to use what she has for good is just a blessing for the rest of us. Agree! She spoke about so many important things like critically examining the way we teach ourselves about racism and history as white people and how we frame those conversations. Vogue - be like Emma. Your title is bait but her message is so much more important.

Really hating the fact that those 3 minutes appeared to be the most important information Vogue's editors are getting out of this conversation.

'Self partnered' should have made it in title for sure.

The girl talked so genuinely and thoughtfully about feminism, history, activism, identity, and meanings of her life, but all people are taking away is her age and relationship status?! We need to stop dumbing down content just for "mass appeal"

Talking about feminism is about as "dumbing down" as one can get.
