I agree. He even looks like the animated prince. She would have been perfect but I think with the Belle they chose they were looking for a non-mature face. :(
@@xBurningxxFlamex non-mature? Lol Emmy is 34 and does not resemble her age, and Emma Watson is 30...Pretty sure the 4 age difference is not as noticeable as the height and voice range difference between them.
Ashlyn Egan I am not so sure about that...some actors that were in Disney movies had been in other edgy content production. But...whatevs🤷🏻♀️ the boat sailed sadly 😭
I was shocked when he appeared on screen I like omg thats ED in the conjuring movies n when I found out he sang I was like wow multi talented. I love him even more
Emmy Rossum's voice is so incredibly beautiful. She does amazing and same with Patrick here he's wonderful. I just wish she would sing live with Gerard Butler. Oh how beautiful that would be. Imagine if they did phantom of the opera love never dies. I would fall more in love
I knew she could sing, but Patrick Wilson is a surprise to me, I had no idea he actually sang in the movie, he can act and sing very well, both are great and wonderful to listen to- nice posting -thanks -
+AKA 赤 I also didn't know that until recently! I just figured it was similar to Gerard Butler, he was an actor whose voice wasn't the worst and had the tone they were looking for. Come to find he's legit
Yeah I watched the movie and was like...that awkward moment when Raoul is the best singer of the three. :l Considering Christine and the Phantom were supposed to have super mind blowingly amazing voices lol. Raoul is the only one of the three main characters who is NOT a singer within the story! Awkward...
@@nutmeg7104 you can tell she's nervous and not singing as strong, has nothing to do with her vibrato. She still sounds great, but it's apparent she's nervous
I think Emmy and Patrick did a wonderful job with this iconic song! Their voices blended together so beautifully. Their portrayals of Christine & Raoul is one of my favorites!
My mom's favorite song she wanted played at her "funeral" That was BEFORE cancer came and took her unexpectedly 😢 This is for YOU mum Xxx R. I. P LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK 💖
I adore Wilson as an actor, I forget how moving his voice is!! And Emmy, oh god, she has the kind of voice I'd sell my soul for. Fiona Gallagher and Ed Warren sing phenomenally!
Emma wasn't as strong, vocally, in this live performance as she usually is. It even seems as if Patrick notices her struggling and encourages her with his demeanors.
I don't know if it's nervousness or acting the part, but whichever it worked perfectly. The scene is about the girl being vulnerable with professing love to the "phantom" man and the man singing with more conviction and re-assuring her to take him.
i think they’re both just hella nervous because andrew lloyd freaking webber is playing the piano behind them!!! singing live in front of him must be insanely intimidating
I feel like Emmy was definitely nervous in this performance. The way Patrick is holding her hand the whole time and occasionally looking over at her with an encouraging expression seemed a little more than just being in character especially while Emmy’s voice was shaking in her first part.
No, Emmy's voice was not at all appropriate for this role. She's supposed to be believable as an opera singer, but she can barely hit or sustain the notes. She has a pretty voice, though, for sure...just was miscast in this role :/
Flank Steak Yeah, as a literal last resort lol. He did not want her at all and tried desperately to get others. You can even tell in this video that her voice wasn't meant or matched for the songs in this movie. She simply isn't fit for opera/musical. That isn't an insult.
I kinda like that her voice sounded less polished and like a young girl learning to sing...what the role was meant to be IMO. I think Sarah's voice was a little TOO good. JMO
Was she like 18 here? I know when they were filming she was 16-17. She looks so mature and sings so beautifully - it's so hard to believe how young she was but that explains her nerves!
This is such a beautiful song, sung by two very gifted voices and it's almost like it was meant for the both of them. The connection of this duet is amazing and I it gives me chills just listening to it.
I knew Patrick Wilson could sing. I think it was Angels in America where I first heard him sing. Emmy Rossum however, surprised me. I had NO IDEA she was classically trained.
