I have always resisted (being somewhat allergic to forced sentiment and put off by the "Emmylou moved to tears" slug). As well as being very humbled and touched by this song, it may also be bitter sweet for her hearing it and she probably can’t help thinking about the three friends she lost. Especially Gram Parsons, her former duet partner and very dear friend who died tragically of a drug overdose at a very young age. And all their times past. Incredible times. Just discovered this tonight having never heard of them before, but been a fan of Emmylou for many years. Now at the age of 72, I am in tears at this beautiful music and can't stop playing it. Well done girls, the singing is amazing and the music is awesome - my tears are of happiness at such REAL music. You now have another fan - maybe your oldest!?

And to top it all off....they wrote this in a language they were not born into. I hear no accent at all in their speaking or singing voices. Just absolutely brilliant.

I named my daughter after Emmylou in 1997 and she is also now a very gifted singer. I grew up lying on the floor with her record albums and admiring her beauty on the cover while melting to her voice as a young child. Carefree days.

Man, they wrote these lyrics at 14. So articulate and well thought through, so "grown up"... from Sweden and have been a fan for a long time but I didn't know the back story for this song.

I cry every time I hear this song! I saw Emmylou and Johnny Cash at the Telluride Bluegrass Frstival with my Dad. He passed away kat August and I cherish those memories with him!

This song must bring up so many memories for Emmylou, from her incredible life and career. And of all the greats that shaped her life.

I don't know why this always makes me cry so hard. Like waayy harder than Emmylou, who has very personal ties to the song obviously. Part of it is for the incredible country singers that passed away of course, and not just them dying as singers but also them dying as friends and family to their loved ones. I've experienced a lot of loss myself so it hits me kinda hard I guess. And it's just so beautiful.

I love this video so much .. I’m 39 now and have two daughters of my own .. I was adopted by a wonderful woman named Roberta ( who was old enough to be my grandmother honestly ) and she showed me Emmy , Dolly , Doris , Johnny and so many other great musicians during my childhood .. and I’m happy to say I’ve shared them all with my daughters who, actually very much resemble these two wonderful lady’s on stage .. we’ve been First Aid fans since they released a Fleet Foxes tribute years ago! Wish my mother was alive to see this performance and my lovely daughters growing up .. I hope she knows how much she’s a part of them, even tho she’s not here with us anymore 🖤 I love you mom, and I still see you everywhere I go 💔
