You hit one of her most important songs. All you felt was real. And you dont need to hold back emotions, as she strikes you personally , directly right there where the emotions are hosted. Emotional reactors were left in puddles of tears. Angels, who never cried their whole life because they were brought up like that ("A man doesnt cry and has no emotions" ... that kind of stuff..) , people who werent able to mourn lost ones for years .... broke , i dont want to say "down", better "open" like a shell - fortified hearts & souls, never allowed to *FEEL* their whole lives , finally were able to open up , to let loose, to let stuck and harmed emotions flow in their natural way, because Angelina is the Truth - a recieving soul can FEEL it, you can TRUST her, because she MEANS it , and you BELIEVE her! She already did (with 7+ ff.) and will change the world, means millions and millions of people to the better. Written by probably a 13 year old and sung by a 14 year old dedicated to her beloved Grandfather, they were very close and she misses him so much. She wrote a beautiful song for him, but just not for him, for all of us who have lost a loved one in our lives. She is a remarkable human being, so much love and caring, just happens to be unbelievably talented as well. God bless Angelina, she has changed my whole outlook on life. Love watching someone like you react to Angelina. You hear it , you feel it , you are drawn into it and you get it. Angelina, just a 14 year old in her element writing a song about missing her Grandpa and killing it! The lyrics are most likely from her journals, she accompanied her Grandfather in Oslo when he went out to help the needy! He also told her to never regret what you do and the reference to the Moon is because the Moon holds a very important place in Japanese culture! I believe this was her first song released after signing with Republic Records. Rob Christie is a Grammy winning producer and the director of studio operations at Republic Records, Angelina’s record label. He has accompanied her on piano since her signing with Republic Records. The live version is out of this world, the last belt is still reverberating in the heavens! She displays so much empathy and humility a true role model! I loved her studio and music video versions of this song! However, I like how she plays with the song and the belt was heard and is still reverberating in the heavens, just WOW! She keeps getting better and better. That lady’s and gentlemen is pure class!
This is about her grandfather who passed away, but she says it was written for anyone who has lost someone close. Republic truly have a megastar on their hands. Angelina sings so many songs that include astral objects such as the moon and stars. Here, the melodic piano notes that are in pairs remind me of the twinkling of the stars, a major portion of this song. Simply genius.
Check out her live-in concert version in Konsberg Norway. You really feel the emotion from a 16 yo Angelina who finally got to come back to Norway after the coof lock down. I know others will argue with this version wanting the music video version which is fantastic but I personally feel like she really shows her vocal artistry in the live version. Having lost my wife some years back, I listen to this song every day, And - even though it always brings me to tears, afterwards I always feel a deep sense of comfort. Thank you JND for your great reaction, what do you do after that , well it wasn't this beautiful song when I first discovered AJ but I binge listened to every song or interview or post from her family normally her Granma Mery she had ever done and that has continued to now I listen to her every day or reactions to her. She is a daily essential, I am a good vintage and have never felt about an artist like I do about AJ. yes she is for me already the greatest artist of all time , not just her amazing multi faceted, muti genre, multi coloured, muti textured, multi nuanced etc...voice it is something innate within her, something magical, that is beyond earthly words, there are a myriad of potential's inside each one of us and there are always pioneers who blaze a path that others will follow maybe life times later , but she naturally embodies virtue's considered the path of freedom for humanity , lets call it Love Without Condition ,it is who she is, in her humble unassuming way ,just being herself AJ. Hi John, small correction. This song was written about her Maternal grandfather (Mery's husband) who passed in 2019. "Always On My Mind" was indeed a tribute to her Paternal grandfather as you said.
