Loved your reaction. Tom Jones has always been a favourite of mine and we have seen him in concert many times over the years, always stunning. One of the best male singing voices of all time. This particular performance is superb and shows him at his very best. This is my favourite Tom Jones song and possibly my favourite overall song

In 1966, I was 14 years old and a girl broke my heart. I sat beside her in Algebra class and she was real flirty. I would go to the show every Sunday afternoon. One Sunday she just came and sat right beside me. Wasn’t long before we were smooching in the dark theater. I was so bashful at school and I would see her every day but never really walked around with her. But our eyes would meet every time I saw her and I would go to the theater every Sunday and there she would be. I was so smitten it was all I could think about. Then one Sunday, I sat down and she sat down beside me and said she could not sit with me anymore. I will never forget that feeling. I asked her why and she showed me this Senior ring on her finger. We were freshmen and some Senior took her away from me. I remember my lip quivering and my voice breaking and I got up and left. I felt like my whole world had come down around me. It was just as if someone close to me had died. I was so ashamed of myself for showing her how hurt I was. This was in March of 1966. I remember how terrible I felt. I did not want to go to school on Monday. I would completely ignore her at school. She would say something to me in class and I wouldn’t even look at her. What was ironic was that when I got home from school on Monday I went out in the shed and took my transistor radio. It was the first time I heard the song Monday Monday by the Mama and Papas. For some reason that song gave me a feeling that everything was going to be Okay. But I really didn’t get over it until about a month later. I had started going to the movies on Sunday again and she came and sat beside me and showed me her hand and said “can I sit here?” I said no and got up and moved although I really did want her to sit there. I just knew I was not going to get hurt like that again. Once I rejected her, I was a lot better. However the scars of that feeling never left me. I would not let myself get close to a girl for 25 more years. When I felt myself falling for someone I never let them know and pretended I was just looking for a good time. Several times in high school and college I was smitten but I would never date just one girl for fear of getting hurt. Finally at the age of 30 I found someone that I knew I had to have. It was slow going still but after two years of dating we were married. Been married 38 years and still crazy about her.

Very sensitive reaction. I appreciate how you switched your recording over to black and white for a brief moment as if to take yourself back in time. Also thumbs up for listening to Tom sing the song more than once... this song in particular because its lyrics are so poignant, and Tom is so expressive, so full of feeling when he sings. And, of course, his voice is stunning in tone and power...so worthy of listening to over again. A vocal master... he needs no auto tune... just your ears and your heart. So many more amazing performances of his to explore! I commend you for a wonderful reaction to a great artist and realizing the awesome door you've just opened. I also encourage you to react to videos of live performances of Bruce Springsteen... who is amazing in a totally different way vocally, but who is an equally compelling performer. Bruce is a fantastic songwriter musically and storyteller lyrically. His live shows are legendary... he commands the stage totally with his energy and passion. And his E Street Band is the best! Amazing musicianship!
Thank you so much for your honestly. I grew up back them and we had real music full of heart and soul. No auto-tune, no mixing just real raw talent.. But dear history repeats itself. Tom Jones had his own tv show in America from 1969 till 1971 I believe. All the famous singers went on the show to perform. His guests Janis Joplin amazing the greatest USA singer for me and also Stevie wonder etc. From the sixties onwards. please have a look
My Godmother took me to see Tom Jones twice, I was 15 and 16, my Godmother has seen him at least 40 times since 1967, I also seen him 6 times in the early 2000s, Tom Jones is unbelievable ! Yes, I got a kiss twice! He might be 82 but he's still just as sexy!!! 😊💞

If you like Tom try I`m Coming Home, Sir Tom Jones is a UK national icon singing some of the most memorable songs in the UK charts. Somehow being alive when these tracks first came out was kinda special, the fashion, the times, the expectations of `tomorrow`. we can still listen to those long past sounds but for many all it evokes are great memories and a time when things were somehow better even though we had less.
This is an American and global classic… good choice and reaction. Another from that era by a black female.. Nancy Wilson singing “Girl it’s over” as she in😮her best friend that the relationship she is in is over but she hasn’t recognized the signs… please giver a try .. your viewers that liked Tom Jones will also love hearing Nancy Wilson.
