@@SeandaleDingle if you know Trym Torson is good only for that... Maybe it should have happened the opposite way. This guy has been in the scene for decades, being one of the best drummers out there. Maybe we should knopw Krimh is good because of his comment. That would be the fair way ;)
@@thetrueoverlord666 you don't need to worry. Trym is legendary. While I love Krimh and the other younger ones, time will tell if they can cement their status in the annals of metal history in similar ways
It is a bit hard to see so I am not 100% sure - but I think it is not. It looks more like a mixture of moeller technique and just moving up and down because his arm rests on his leg wich is moving up and down.
When I saw that video for the first time, I had to try that method myself... What can I say, it fucking works better than anything I've tried before... 😳
it is 20 years i was waiting to see this ! i was 22 years old in 97 when Anthems came out, i was totally blown away and i still am, i cannot believe 20 years have passed !!
Couldn’t had said it better myself. Wise words. The amount of musicianship from these legendary black metal drummers including hellhammer, and frost are truly legendary, dare I say, iconic in the black metal scene!
It's all in how you take care of yourself. I can out work, and run circles around guys half my age!!! I'll be 44 this May 14th 2019!! Though I haven't lifted weights for about 10 years, I plan on getting back into this summer so I do t become a weak brittle old man!!! Stay METAL!!! Stay strong!!!
I remember when I was watching Emperial Live Ceremony on video tape back in the day when it came out and couldn't believe how fast Trym was especially performing this song. And it's really amazing to see these guys almost 20 years later still doing their thing and going strong and compare it to the old days when they were in their mid twenty's. Man time is really flowing fast.
Some drummers have the technique, some have a sense of style. Some drummers have the dynamics, some have power and stamina. Mr. Mosaker has them all 100%. My favourite drummer of them all since early Enslaved. Thanky you Trym.
what a wonderful drummer Trym is... and obviously it's way beyond technique.... it's amazing how much he structures and emphasizes certain elements of the music
this album will always hold a very special place in my heart. thank you and everyone that participated on it. you are an actual god among men! i love you
My first black metal band. Still love it, still listen to it, one of my favorites of all time for sure. Thank you for the music. It's been more than 20 years, shit time flies fast(
I really enjoyed the show at Wacken and Inferno Fest. Thanks for posting this so we can finally see a bit more of the brilliant drumming that's almost impossible to see during live shows.
Wow, just found this channel. I am a fan since the first album came out (which I bought only because of the cover). I remember vividly when I first listened to "Into The Infinity Of Thoughts", a game changer. Seems like I won't be going to bed anytime soon, seeing Trym playing is mesmerizing. Just noticed (another comment talks about it) his snare placement and technique, simply amazing.
This! And even better, please capture one of the upcoming live shows, Wacken or even better the Japan one and release a DVD. I was hoping for Hellfest or Graspop stream at least but nope none : (
I actually do that as well. Somehow it helps. I think for me it keeps the blast more consistent and physically reminds me about the position of my arm.
I did that too for the first couple years I was playing, until i had built up my left hand. I realized i was doing it to go faster than my dexterity would allow. The elitist part of me sees that and says "crutch", but... I understand people use what works for them. Kinda like Kevin Foley's left hand blast grip. WTF, but hey, it works!
Fantastic as always. I hope i have the opportunity to see you live again. The first and only was at Hellfest but with Faust on drums. You're one of my favourite drummers all times, i also hope to do a tattoo with you someday. Cheers from Brazil!
I remember getting into Mayhem & Emperor at the same time. That was my introduction to blast beats & to this day, 20 years later, I cannot duplicate what Trym & Hellhammer make look so easy.
At first, i was like .. who is covering this mastery!!!!!! Second i noticed the passion encompassing my entire body and felt it to only be they who are emperor... ( sheds a tear) 3 rd the realization and truth of the fact .. EmpEroR ...
