I believe a ball joint suspension was introduced in 1966. A narrowed beam will take care of that offset.

I have EMPI drop spindles on my car and when my VW shop tried to align the wheels they couldn't get the camber to match on both sides and they said they've seen this on other cars with EMPI drop spindles.

I don't understand that. The camber is adjustable.

@@bykr2009 I think they sell aftermarket adjusters that allow for more camber adjustment. Probably $30-40.

I sold the car and don’t remember off the top of my head. The wide wheels combined with the offset of the spindles created the issue.
