This was the first time I heard or knew of the group En Vogue. With this interview and the "Don't Let Go (Love)" video, I thought they were a new group. But then later on I found they sang "My Lovin" and "Whatta Man". I heard of their music but never knew the name. Dawn Robinson was and still is my favorite member of the group and when she left, I was disappointed.
Super Stan for EV here...gotta say I love the "Don't Let Go" look for all the girls in this video. I love Max's micros but the pixie cut is absolutely beautiful on her. In this video, her look is so flawless. I mean all of them are GORGEOUS but in this vid Max's look is just perfect!!! Such a shame the girls couldn't maintain after this. It was their biggest hit!! Thanks for posting!!
It’s funny to watch stuff like this knowing a pinch of the backstory now through interviews and new insight from the ladies. Body language is everything and they were all Lieing lmao. Terry was looking like “yea we THREE are going back into the studio”. Lol We need a En Vogue biopic.
False. Dawn went into the studio as well. She recorded most of the album with them. She left when they had just two more songs to record thus her vocals still being featured on the album.
Mikizzle, don't forget Cindy! Cindy looks good, as always. You never show her any love. Lol. I'll ALWAYS be a Terry advocate but Cindy is truely gorgeous!
wow--i've never seen this. Max is looking very fly --oh the rest of the girls look good too. i wonder where the rest of that in studio footage is?where they are in there with organized noise-that would be priceless to see that whole session.
yes, this is tense because they all (the 4 of them) did not know that they were going to be answering future questions. when dawn mentions @ 4:29 seconds "...as well as other [producers], you can hear the awkward silence from Maxine, Terry and Cindy. dawn is always outspoken, so she will just let you have it.
Maybe it was the lighting because Cindy clearly is the lightest in all of the footage I've seen of her. Terry seems to be the darkest. But it doesn't matter. Lol
Eurocentrism and slavery-based perceptions passed down. Also it's no secret that, globally, skin tones are noted as a value (Asia, Africa, Europe, Pacific Islands it's eurocentrism at its worst).
