I can't help feel nostalgic seeing En Vogue at the height of their career with behind the scene videos, commercials, amazing music videos, etc. All of that is gone now.

I wish that 33 years later now, Dawn, Maxine, Terry, and Cindy could watch this video. Just to see how cool, unfiltered and unadulterated they were. Four women of color, from different backgrounds, with EPIC talent in their own right, successful in their own right, schooling Gen X and Millenial folks at this LEVEL. These four women defined my identity as a Negro. They sang without hesitation, in sync and key!! Modulating to different keys, in BLOODY ACAPELLA effortlessly!! To think, that Terry and Cindy are stumbling blocks to a 30+ year reunion out of pettiness breaks my heart. LISTEN: Rhona is a nice singer. She's in the group. She identifies as En Vogue. I accept that. However, IMHO, she needs to bloody stay in her lane and not act like she entertained and made me HAPPY in 1989!!!! *This is when I would go into a rant in Swahili because it just sounds better when you curse someone out in vernacular!!*

...Cindy ...is the one i notice most...she has the razor sharp moves and she seems to be the most poised and dynamic at the same time...Terry is the most relaxed...and the funniest...

It's really sad that they were Unsung. This group had the potential to be so much bigger. From what I've read, they never even really got paid like superstars. That's why Max kept mentioning money, money, money I some way maybe she was confused to why their pay was so low and after all the work they put in.

Max is such a beautiful woman and she seems athletically strong but still very feminine. I love her voice and wish she had the right team of writers to produce and work with. The one mid temp track (didn’t I) she published didn’t reflect her full potential.

She and Max both talking about not having money. Then in the “where do you wanna be five years from now” question, Max wanting to be able to stay home and raise a family without *having* to work, and Cindy hoping the group would still be going strong. You can see how Cindy woulda pushed herself to tour (with Luther) right through her pregnancy. Sigh. Love them all still. Icons. ❤

I still have thos on VHS. I didn't even know this was on YT. I love all the women. However. I have always been drawn towards Dawn the most, for some reason, even when I was younger. She was the first to leave the group because of financial reasons. She knew/felt after the fact, that something wasn't right. Then Maxine left afterwards. It's too bad things didn't work out, unfortunately. I will always love and miss En Vogue, especially the original En Vogue.

Maybe I'm an empath, but especially knowing what happened after this (the Funky Divas era), could y'all hear the words that weren't being said? I'm watching this in 2020, and I love the original En Vogue, but this clip said so much...it said a lot about where the group would ultimately go. Since this was after Funky Divas, (album 2) remember that the original 4 did not make it to EV3 (3rd album) intact.

Terry just said they didn't write on this album because they were busy. And that's fine. But she just told Wendy the other day that they wrote each verse on 'Free Your Mind'. It doesn't matter, but as a fan I appreciate accurate insight. I wish more singers knew that it's ok to NOT write. Everyone isn't a writer.

It is so Wonderful watching this video. Because it shows how Young and Wide- Eyed they were at that time. Also it seems to be before all the Issues Changed things. However through all that Happened, I Believe their 4 Part Harmony will Endure the test of time.

This is one one of the hundreds of examples of why I love the music but I hate the music business. I’ve never seen this before but I know they should have grown to be superstars in their own right instead of stars with someone else making the money. People say say “ that’s just the music business “ but you fuck with peoples lives promising millions and superstardom but don’t hold up your end of the deal vs al, the artist hard work. Dawn Robinson has been very vocal lately finally talking about what happened after all these years. While it’s great to see Cindy, and Terry go on with En Vogue with Rhona Bennett it’s strange to see two ladies as talented as Dawn and Maxine not doing ANYTHING as far as touring, singing, recording , solo or working together. It’s as if they have been blackballed all these years. And while I still loved the new En Vogue music from the last four albums I still don’t look at them the same as the original four. I guess the original En Vogue will just be a part of history. Disappointing....

I do wanna know do you have the performance of EnVogue performing "Don't Go" on a morning show with their little black dresses to an audience of white women? Do you also have a clip of Terry, Cindy, and I believe Dawn doing their makeup on some show? I believe they also spoke about their skin care(?)

This video tells a lot. Huge EV fan but this shows me that Dawn really was like the antagonist of the group and she and Terry would really be the ones to buttheads the most. I feel like Dawn would have issues with Cindy cuz she so wishy washy and doesn’t have her own opinion and then Maxine was the one to put her foot down and overtalk everyone because she’s not combative, what she says, goes.
