"You're tornading the flowers! THE FLOWERS!" I absolutely adore all of the madrigal husbands they're so used to the nonsense around them and they don't even care LMAO
Right!!! I love that small moment in the film where Pepa accidentally summoned a tornado 😄😂🤣 Pepa 100/10 awesome character!!!! Also Felix is such a supportive husband! 😄
I read a comment somewhere about how good of a husband Felix is to Pepa. While everyone constantly tells Pepa to calm down and stop feeling so anxious (which obviously never really helps), Felix points out the consequences of her negative emotions. Not once in the movie does he tell Pepa to calm down and I absolutely love that. I also love how Camilo kinda takes after Felix and we can see that in that one scene where he tries to calm down Pepa. I also wanna point out that when Camilo was hit by Pepa's lightning, he shapeshifted into Felix, Abuela Alma, and Agustin because he thinks they're the most responsible ones and could handle Pepa and her emotions. We stan the men in Pepa's family😌
@@lunarialoonatic if you had the power of being forced to listen to every secret in the village to the point it probably drove you mad, and couldn't even talk loudly from the sound of your own voice ringing in your ears, wouldn't you spill the tea every five seconds, intentionally or not?

@@krisandem Don't get me wrong I love rats but I think I'd be a bit taken aback too if somebody dressed their rats up, presented them to me and then proceeded to tell me "Those are your grandchildren." At first I'd take it as an insult lol
I just noticed that when Camilo hit his back on the table he also knocked over the tea kettle he was serving to Pepa. So he tanked a lightning bolt to the face, a table to the back and, depending on the quality of his shoes, ceramic shrapnel and third degree burns to his foot all in a couple of seconds.
i wonder if camillo can shapeshift wounds out of himself, like if he gets a cut can he shapeshift into a version of himself that doesnt have a cut? or does the damage stay across forms, so if he gets cut in one form it just sticks with him, also can pepa create more uncommon weather, like hailstorms, sandstorms, whirpools, dust devils, forest fires etc. also since antonio just talks to animals not control them, what if he finds a asshole rat that doesnt like him, or does his gift make animals naturally like him, try to listen to him and be nice to him? also what happens in julietta makes a poisones dish? does the healing automatically cure the poison, or does it balance out leading to nothing fixed nothing lost? also since isabellas ability is flora control, does that mean she can make gigantic venus flytraps? since we already saw her making unnaturally big and tough plants, also we see her not just growing but controlling plants, and she grows them even withing bricks, concrete and mortar, which normally cannot grow plants, so she could theoretically create a giant army of plants anywhere at anytime, isabella is probably has the strongest power out of everybody, she would probably even beat poison ivy in a fight
Camillo’s part about “we don’t talk about Bruno” was purely middle child energy. You cannot say that man is 7ft. Camilo was just trying to give Mirabel a scare
@@leuvsemats my favorite theory is the reason that Camilio says that during his verse is because he saw Bruno catching midnight snacks when he was little and he passed out from shock 😂
I saw this amazing piece of fanart that was Camilo shapeshifted into his terrifying version of Bruno looking down on normal Bruno and being like "hmm you're kinda a disappointment" since Camilo remembers him being scary when he was a child
@Dee Bee Yess I saw something similar to that.. Camilo was getting midnight snacks and when he got to the kitchen, Bruno was standing on the counter ( hence 7 foot frame ) also looking for midnight snacks and out of shock and tiredness Camilo fainted 😂
This is just being autistic in a neurotypical household, you don't have uwu symptoms, everybody including Messiah Mom gets on you and makes you consider one permanent option or pathetic therapy lmao
Things I would love to see if Encanto got it's own series: - Pepa's side of the family - How pepa's side deals with the trauma each of their gifts bring - Dolores and Camilo getting a solo song - a cute duo song with julietta and Augustin - Mirabel's relationship with each member from Pepa's side - the madrigal triplets - more building and healing of each of the family relations. - bruno interacting with his nieces and nephews
Pepa’s side of the family is the most dangerous 😭😭😭 Like the reason why the village was helping them rebuild their home was because of Dolores has black mail on all of them
I love how each side of the family has their own color scheme and Abuela and Bruno are a mix of both Pepa’s side has warm colors (red, yellow, and orange) and julietas side has cool colors (blue and purple)
@@afrahalrady8208 so I guess Alma and Pedro's color was pink Cause her outfits mainly pink But has a bit of children's families color too (Bruno is green)
don't know if it's just me but has anyone else noticed that each triplet's side of the family all have gifts that sort of fall under the same category?? like pepa's side all have gifts related to communication (emotional expression, superhuman hearing, shapeshifting to other people, talking to animals) whereas julieta's side are related to more physical traits (healing of wounds, aesthetic beauty, strength). Makes me think what bruno's side of the family would be blessed with.. maybe talking to the dead or timetraveling? like more spiritually oriented gifts??
Okay this is actually really freakin' cool so sad that Bruno is such a good "Weird uncle" LMAO, bc the gifts his children may have gotten would've been high key the coolest ones HAHA. SPIRITUAL GIFTS. COME ON 😂😂
I think the reason Pepa’s side has “more intense” powers than Julietta’s is that Pepa and Felix stand UP for their kids. They have more intense personalities in that they’re blunt and honest, so their kids feel safer being themselves. Mirabel’s parents are awesome, but neither are particularly dominant while both Felix and Pepa regularly shown as standing up to Abuela and advocating for their children. None of Felix and Pepa’s kids are “perfect” but they clearly feel very safe in being themselves.
Antonio can get a tiger to eat abuela in her sleep. Camillo could frame her for many a crime. And pepa could turn her to dust with one bad day. If I were Abuela I’d be scared of that family.
Julietta's family is the caring loving one but their daughters won't fucking talk about their problems and shit like they hides it way too deep just to maintain the family's reputation it's very sad😭 it was all because of abuela that old ass woman I swear if I was Luisa I would've throw mountains on her or if I was Isabella I would've grow lots of cactuses inside her room >:(
@@strawbz63 I mean if you think about it like that, the other side is worst. but only 2 of them, isabela could be really dangerous using plants because for what we see she can also use it to attack and now luisa is literally a hulk in this movie
@@misu__5849 Old family stuff is just hard to deal with, it's hard to argue with your own family elders, they're old stuck in their ways and aren't really open to change. Sometimes you just have to deal with it, but sometimes you have to stand up to them if it's important. If someone in your family is a problematic narcissist and unwilling to change your family elders will likely enable them by preventing you from barring them from your parties and get togethers despite you knowing full well they're there for attention and will likely fake a panic attack if people try to ignore them. Sometimes you just have to accept that neither your narcissistic relative nor your family elders are capable of being reasoned with and try to make the most of it.
Pepa can easily become enraged and cause a mass destruction. Dolores can listen in and learn all your secrets and use it as blackmail. Camilo can shapeshift as you and frame you. Antonio can talk to your pets and convince them to murder you in your sleep. And Felix can use his comedic skills to distract authorities while the others commit mass genocide. Beautiful family.
Camilo also has some comedic skills from his father, so he can charm his way through. Also, Antonio's animals can also listen in on conversations and pass them on to him.
Meanwhile Julieta can slip poison into her food, causing the person who eats it to not be healed Augustin can accidentally kill you (it is possible) Isabela can kill you with poisonous flowers and plants Luisa can literally crush you to pieces And Mirabel can tell the house to harm you physically Another beautiful family
@@leilah808 i like how Augistin is so specific since hes hella Accident prone, Julieta is an immunity buff and a full hp potion, Luisa is basically the bottom of the earth type of strength, and Isabella is litteraly plants and since those are everywhere might aswell call her mother nature, and Mirabel, hes basically hes father but less accident prone and have more plot armor than anyone, except maybe bruno but yeah.

@UCkVmySLDxoTglagl2dKuhSA But in We Dont Talk About Bruno, when he shapeshifted into Mariano he "hahaed". His voice was kinda deep but the volume is low. Also during Antonio's ceremony; didnt Camilo try to act like Felix and his voice?
And this is why I want an Encanto series. The movie gave us a taste, but a whole series focusing on the entire family will really give even more on the Pepa side.
Right like I felt like they could have done so much more with the movie, but there wasn’t really like a reason for it yk what I mean? Like there wasn’t really a message and there’s so much they could do with it like we haven’t seen all the rooms and we haven’t really gotten to know everybody (no offense to Mirabel) but they gave us the least interesting character as the main character and I know the whole movie her trying to prove that she is special which she is she is like the normal to a crazy family and she still kinda matches their awkward energy but let’s be real there isn’t much to know about her and we could be exploring all the other powers maybe the next one could be where Bruno is back in the family and there’s a new antagonist and they have to like use all of their powers to defeat him or something or just something with the entire family cause they are too special to only have 3 minutes of screen time there’s just so much potential for a second movie this was just the appetizer before the meal I hope they consider a second movie
@@aveannaford2131 what do you mean there wasn't a reason for it?? Literally the entire point of the movie was to point out the harm that comes with/from generational trauma and familial pressure. Also least interesting?? HUH?? Niña, Mirabel was supposed to be the one that the audience relates to, she's also the one who brought the family together at the end. She's the glue of the family. Maybe try watching the movie again, keeping all of this in mind.
Connection I hadn't realized: the whole town gathering to celebrate Isabel and Mariano's engagement without knowing her response is similar to the Little Town in Beauty and the Beast preparing a wedding before Gaston had even proposed; obviously this is a more toned down version but it also shows how Isabel was being forced into the engagement not just by her family, but also by her community's expectations.
3:57 I just noticed there are wind trackers (or whatever they’re called) in Pepa’s room and they speed up when the wind is caused by her thunder cloud! This is useful because it might tell you when Pepa needs help to calm down or when she’s angry/sad/scared, etc.
Bruh pepa’s side is so dangerous, one of her kids could literally destroy any relationship and the other could frame someone and probably get away with it💀💀
@@nik0sleepii abuela : julieta please have all the children for this family Julieta : wtf? Why can't pepa have children?! After dolores is born. Julieta : pepa please no more children
Pepa is my favorite. She was a mood for the whole movie. They just keep telling that poor woman to calm down but never in the history of Calm Down has Calm Down ever made someone Calm Down. "Pepa, you have a cloud." "WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?"
Every Hispanic family has The boss(abuela), The cook(julieta), the one who shows their feelings too well(Pepa), the shifty one(Camilo), the one who has all the gossip(Dolores), the wild child (Antonio), the fun Uncle(Felix), the bitchy one( Isabella), the one who looks like they could break down at any moment ( Bruno), the one who WILL break down at any moment (Luisa), the dorky dad(Agustín), and the weird glue that holds them together (Mirabel)
I honestly feel bad for Pepa, its always "Pepa! you have a cloud!" instead of "Pepa you have a cloud is everything okay?" imagine the constant responsibility of keeping yourself happy in order to not burden anyone yet its uncontrollable
Ye I think when they were conceptually creating her design they had her wear yellow because she wears "happy colours" to keep herself happy. Pepa deserves so many hugs lmao
⚠️THIS MAY BE A SPOILER FOR SOMEONE ⚠️ Kinda interesting to notice that at the end of the movie, we see Pepa dancing. She has a cloud with tiny hailstones gently falling, but she's happy. So her cloud doesn't always necessarily reflect a negative mood. "Clear skies" is just what she thought and was told she HAD to have all the time. Her mood could easily be seen, and it was STILL supressed for who knows how long 🥲
@@urmom5956 Dolores Can gossip if she wanted to,Antonio can make animals serve him,and Camilo can steal identity’s,And lastly Pepa Can Make a Tornado come-. Woah
@@urmom5956 no, isabella is actually very powerful lol her gift is literally creating plus controlling plant life, she would wash camilo and dolores in a battle, same goes for luisa her body literally *destroys* rocks….
Why did Julietas side of the family get the good gifts?! Pepá, must contain every emotion, Dolores literally hears everything for miles, Camilo gonna have a full out identity crisis, I guess Antonio's ain't that bad, But Bruno's power literally causes him pain.
Isabella got first grandchild privileges because hers is clearly the best. Long range offensive, short range offensive, defensive, travel power, and can give her a makeover. Plus it's incredibly aesthetic too. She and Pepa have the only "elemental" powers but Isabella doesn't have to repress her emotions 24/7 (well she did, but that's because of abuela, not her powers). In every aspect it is superior. She could've pulled an Elsa and made a flower castle had she wanted to.
Everyone’s always saying how great of a dad/husband Felix is (which he totally is, I definitely give him father/husband of the year), but can we also talk about what an awesome *brother in law* he is too? He was the first to break the silence regarding Bruno, and never outright blamed Bruno for his visions, he just said he would see something bad & it would happen. Even though Pepa was blaming Bruno for ruining her wedding (which he didn’t because that’s *not* how his powers work), Felix only talked about what a “joyous” day it was, and didn’t say a single bad word about him. When Bruno came back & told Pepa how he wanted her to just feel her feelings & let them out, Felix agreed with him immediately (“that’s what I’m always saying bro!”). Forget father/husband/BIL of the year, Felix should get the Man Of The Year award! 🏆 Edit: didn’t expect this to blow up lol
peppa's powers could have effected her own wedding when she saw bruno bc i'm sure he had predicted many bad things before her wedding. and that could have upset her making a big storm
2:46 slow it down to the lowest speed possible, it sounds like the chipmunks singing We don't talk about Bruno while having their throats squeezed after they've sucked helium.
No because Pepa and Julieta's kids' personalities are so in line with their own. I think this might be because Pepa was the out of control child (due to her gift), so abuela's only pressure towards her was to keep her emotions under control. Meaning she still had at least some sort of agency. And this can be seen in her kids as well (maybe they have a bit more freedom due to Felix). Meanwhile, Julieta's gift caused abuela to teach her to measure her worth on how much she can do for others, never herself, causing her to be a people pleaser. And this is also seen in her kids, they all seem to care more about what others think of them more than anything else. At least more than Pepa's side of the family. I doubt Augustin is much help since he also expresses feeling insecure within the Madrigal family. Even their colours, Pepa's side having intense warm shades and Julieta's side having more mellow cool shades. Bruno is green, which is perfect mix of both, as he was both expected to at least not bring back bad news, but when he did, he was looked down upon.
@@witchplease9695 I noticed that there is actually a question mark in the subtitles for “That’s Bruno?” when I rewatched the movie in Disney+. I used to think it was the former when I first saw the movie.

I love the coloring. Pepa’s side of the family with warm colors. Representing love, their bright personalities, Pepa’s anger and emotions, etc. Julieta’s side of the family with cool colors signifying their softer, more timid personalities. And green for Bruno usually signifying evil and deceit (which is purposeful and why Camilo makes his eyes green when turning into Bruno because he believed he was a monster)
@@stephenkrahling1634 green is "evil" more because of disney style choice to represent evil, they tend to use green and purple color to "vilians"( of course it's not a rule but happend sometimes in their movies) Also, blue( cool side) + yellow (warm side) = green, since pepa, bruno and julieta are triplets
Because Julieta's side is the serious side because the movie is focused mostly on them, so it leaves more room for comedy with the other side since they aren't going through mental breakdowns the whole movie
@@arturocastroverde3349 (abuela) probably had different suitors planned out for her daughters, but when Felix and Augustin got into the picture, she opened her self up for the possibility

Everyone talks about how awful Doloreses power is, but no one talks about how toxic Pepa’s is. Imagine having your emotions always be a burden in the eyes of pretty much everyone else, she has to force herself to be happy or else she’ll upset everyone.
And then having a pretty loud gift compared to the other madrigals with a daughter that has super sensitive hearing. Like imagine Pepa's freaking out about something and it makes her have a thundercloud, and it hurts a little 5 year old Dolores. Imagine your emotions being the source of your child's *physical pain*
Camilo doesn't get enough screentime honestly! If you look in a scene he is being ADORABLE by comforting his mother when she's upset. Camilo is honestly my favorite character. He's also hilarious!
They bring such bright moments to the movie! Camilo is a genius lol everything he did and said is funny. A Pepa thing. And I think he's lovable in the way that even though he's always fooling and joking around, he's so sweet to his mom
The whole film is great, but Pepa’s family stole the show for me. I could watch this family all day. Seriously, these guys need their own Disney Plus show.
@@synaacamdyn Even without seeing the "getting the power" part, there's heaps of potential for something slice of life involving the family and their daily struggle with their power. Not to mention the usual trials of growing up, spiced up with magic.
I agree, if I'm honest I liked the film but I didn't love it but I 100% think Pepa's side of the family was more interesting to see, Felix and Camilo were so funny I'm surprised they didn't get more screen time, they definitely had to!
Pepa, Felix, Dolores, Camilo and Antonio really are my fav characters. It started with Dolores being my fav, then my love for Pepa grew and I got super into Encanto and REALLY fell into the obsession with Camilo and Felix. Also Antonio is just precious, nothing bad to say there:)
Dolores: i will blackmail you Camilo: i will ruin your relationship with your loved ones Pepa: thunder hurricane what do you want Antonio: your lion food Felix: my family is amazing
Julieta: I’ll torture you and make sure nothing happened Isabela: *casually loads cactus like a shotgun* Luisa: *crush* Agustin: I can accidentally unalive you Mirabel: *FAMILY REDEMPTION*
I love how Felix is as much of a gossip as Peppa and is adding commentary to her story about their wedding. She is having none of it and he apologized. “I’m sorry mí vida, go on.” Major Gomez vibes.
0:10 he makes her so happy💛💛 I love every time pepa has a cloud felix doesn’t tell her to calm down but instead tells her all the damage she’s doing like getting Antonio wet or running the decorations so she can choose to control her emotions or not, but abuela tells pepa to calm down and basically this means that she wants pepa to be happy all the time and have only one which emotion which honestly isn’t mentally healthy. Also abuela’s character development was shit
3:56 read somewhere the reason Camilo turns into the adults in this scene when in pain is because while helping his mom he’s acting more like an adult rather then a kid, his powers reflect that
What I like about Felix is how he manages Pepa's gift. Instead of telling her to calm down and shove away her emotions like Abuela does, he instead lets her express her emotions and deals with the cloud directly.
Pepa’s kids, along with herself, have some pretty dangerous powers. Dolores can literally hear heart beats a mile away, Camilo can become ANYONE, Antonio could talk to animals & make them do whatever to anyone if he was upset. Not to mention the woman who probably flooded the valley a few times or caused a hurricane during pregnancies. Julieta’s kids are like Demi gods. One that’s a female Hercules, & another that can make plants, crops, flowers, etc grow with the flick of a finger. And Julieta can heal any illness or injury with a bite of food. Why do I feel like Pepa & her kids got curses?
You know? Pepa's side of the family is really wholesome. Yeah they're comedic and have like cool yet chaotic powers, but the way they interact with each other (especially towards Pepa) is really sweet. And passing the secrets down from one to another makes me think that they probably don't keep secrets from each other (of course Julieta's side was sitting on the other side)
No it's just Camilo being Camilo, he is sweet responsible boy but he also very playful and sassy boy who like to prank people and mock them .............. Bruno disappeared over 10 years ago , I think part of Camilo believed in people talking bad about Bruno because it's impossible for him to actully remember and understand everything he saw when he was a little toddler
Ages: Abuela Alma is 75. Bruno, Julietta, Pepa, Felix and Agustin are 50. Isabella and Dolores are 21 (Which is why you can see Dolores drinking wine). Luisa is 19. Camilo and Mirabel are 15. Antonio is 5.
I always hated it when abuela tells Pepa off about the clouds it probably annoys her more than anyone else and its basically saying "stop being upset" when it's a natural human emotion like she could at least console her jEez
Well it did concern the whole family and not just one person. And give her a break, her powers were most probably broken as well during that scene making her more sensitive and stressed. Edit: forgot to add that she respected her uncle sympathising for him. She even said it in the song for goodness sake.
Considering the vision revelation would help ruin the whole proposal dinner and get her another chance at marrying the guy she likes instead kind of swings things to the side of better to tell everything and try to swoop in later. Plus she would already be aware that Isabella wasn't actually interested in marrying the guy.
Two things I just noticed. One: Julieta’s family color scheme in reminiscent of the Moon while Pepa’s is the Sun. And Two: When Abuela makes Mirabel move down the table after she was interrogating Luisa, Felix makes sure to switch their plates back💕
I noticed that about Felix moving the plate too, but I also noticed that Pepa and Felix never passed Mirabel's plate back to her. Or maybe I missed it.
Yeah, agreeing with the other comment that said it, I took a look at a clip, he never gave the plate back. Maybe he just left there, expecting mirabel to grab it.
Pepa’s family can definitely sing! Their family’s gifts are more on the passive side which is probably why Abuela didn’t pressure them in the same way she did to Mirabel’s sisters. I feel like Abuela put a greater weight of responsibilities on them since their gifts can be utilized more. Besides the fact Abuela never let Pepa express her emotions, you can see a healthy family dynamic within Pepa’s family and thus why their characters are so wholesome. I love them so much!
Pepa: Constant emotional turmoil, has emotions ignore Dolores: Sensory overload, feelings overlooked and used for information against her will Camilo: Constantly known as the "funny one" and is usually putting on a performance, painful-looking power malfunctions
*It’s actually pretty weird how the family all together only gets about five minutes of screen time but the entire fandom agrees that they are the best characters*
To be fair they did fast forward through We Don't Talk About Bruno and they didn't include the rest of the scene where Mirabel talks to Dolores so that probably makes it closer to 10 minutes, and then you have to remember that Antonio is also Pepa and Felix's kid so that's another 5-10 minutes, AND they didn't include the climax where Camilo tries to help Mirabel reach the candle or the shots from Antonio's ceremony or from the rebuilding of Casita
Can we talk about the whole thundering thing? Pepa has had to keep her cool all her life because she learned that any kind of bad weather on special occasions that "needed to be perfect" would ruin everything. She gets worked up about the drizzle leading to a sprinkle, which isn't even bad weather, really; a drizzle isn't as damaging as a hurricane. But she's so convinced it will ruin things somehow, so she ends up taking too many chill pills to keep the weather perfect. All the Madrigals gifts are really cool, but they're so taxing, as well.
I wish Encanto was longer so we could get to know the characters more. Imagine they made a movie with just Pepa's side of the family. I'd watch that so many times.
YES. ABSOLUTELY. Sequels to movies I like always make me nervous because I don’t know if they’ll ruin the story or not, but I would appreciate more good Encanto content partly because we haven’t gotten to know Pepa’s side of the family very well. It wouldn’t even have to be a sequel for me. A prequel or a short or two would also be good. The only reason I wouldn’t ask for a show is because I don’t know what they could spend each episode DOING.
Pepa's "gift" was really a curse. She can never feel any negative emotion without everyone getting angry at her for making it rainy or windy when they want the weather to stay clear. The poor woman has driven herself half insane trying to stay happy 24/7 just for everyone else's sake! And that's not to mention how it can cause her emotions to spiral out of control, like on her wedding day, when she got angry at herself because her anxiety was causing rain, which ended up in a hurricane. Dolores also seems to not fully enjoy her gift, as she often covers her ears when moderately loud things happen. Sure, everyone on the other side of the family is super stressed, but thats because of how people treat them, expecting them to be the village doctor/workhorse/perfect girl all the time. The gifts themselves dont cause the problems.
When he asks "that's Bruno" to Camilo he's probably asking "that's who you were so scared of?" Look at the smirk on his face when he says it and tell me I'm wrong
Honestly a missed opportunity would be to have a super powered fight at some point. Feel like Isabela and Pepa are the top tiers, Antonio might get their if he can also control animals one day. Luisa is just below them, Julieta’s powers don’t really have much combat application unless she could also make lethal food and healing food. Camilo seems to only take on the appearance, but not any of the abilities of the people he imitates, Dolores and Bruno are great for intelligence gathering.
@Curly-n-Girly Exactly. Maybe they could have a Madrigal ball game. Agustin and Felix as coaches, Abuela Alma as referee, Julietta as the nurse, Mirabel as water girl, Bruno substituting for Julieta, and Antonio as commentator.
