I had to stop watching after that. For such seasoned players to make that mistake with such a prevalent card, especially at such a critical juncture in the game, pissed me off.
That rant at the beginning was hilarious lol. Dragonborn are my favorite race to play in DnD, so hearing Jon's frustration, whether real or not, about flightless dragons was very amusing.
For the guy who's played more modern than every other player in the pod combined, its crazy Corey hasn't read resto, and to know why it can't blink angels.
I was thinking the same thing, but I suspect that the number of other playable angels in decks that run Resto is effectively zero, so outside of the understanding that Resto can't blink itself/other copies, the non-Angel text rarely comes up. Still disappointing to have such a glaring error change the flow of gameplay though.
Good job guys. Only about 3 mistakes this episode. I like Corey for the most part, nonEDH mindset not withstanding, but this week sorely missed Justin.
It would be great to have a more detail point update. The information is obviously there :-), something like: - So and so gained X points and went from Y to Z, gain A points from finishing at N place but lost 3 from searching dragons for more than 30s. I perso don't recall the points from previous episodes...
I am so happy I still get to watch Corey Baumeister play magic in long form video content on this channel. Corey, you have to try the horde mode game these guys do every now and then.
I like the concept! It's pretty easy to make something too strong, and thus be a tougher sell as Rule 0, so I'd likely look for either a janky concept or some card I love but doesn't see much play. My own thematic pairings might be: - Yargle // Knighthood, for The Quest for Sir Yargle's Bargle. (Though potentially this could be a cycle, the Seasons of Yargle, with a half deck in each other color to Jumpstart with him.) - Adeline // Conspiracy or Jerren // Arcane Adaptation, for More Human Than Human (human tribal with Xathrid Necromancer combo, remaking an old deck I had pre-EDH). - Toski // Last Laugh, Liliana's Contract, or even Demonic Pact, for Sadistic Squirrels (ie, feeding them to demons).
Because they were treating the enchantments as backgrounds, so they had added the text "If you control you commander" and he didn't control his commander at that time.
This a cool idea, I would pair Vito The Dusk Rose + Cleric Class or Contemplation. Ruxa Patient Professor + Gratuitous Violence would be a devastating combo, and a cool Vanilla creature tribal deck.
Either the search timer needs to get extended or gotten rid of. These guys make new decks every week. They won't have the decks down to a level where search decisions are easy. It makes it so commanders that encourage tutoring is punished.
Haven't watched this in a long time. So long that I remember Stephen being rugged looing and Jeremy being the baby faced one that got picked on my everyone else and never got to talk. Wow they have changed. Jon looks pretty much the same.
It feels like such a missed opportunity that Jeremy doesnt ask us, the audiance aswell if we're ready. "If you guys are ready, and you guys are ready, let's play some commander."
If it matters in the end the same person probably would have won. Though Stephen might have gotten to farm an extra point. But yeah it gnawed at me the entire game.
God eternal oketra and parallel lives Yahenni, undying partisan and impact tremors Griselbrand and gratuitous violence ( I know hes not legal but my playgroup let's me play him whenever we have planesChase nights ) Vorinclex voice of hunger and rabble rousing Orvar the all form and flame shadow conjuring Lathliss dragon queen and mechanized production
Resto Angel. A pretty well known card. I dont blame Corey because he is new to magic but Jeremy should have known. As the leader he should have to buy us all milkshakes.
Getting people on technicalities of deals is fine and part of politics in Commander, but straight up lying is not ok and would make me focus a player every game after, or more likely not play with them. Unfortunately I can't claim to be surprised, Stephen has done it before and will do it again.
This Corey guy is a bit much to handle. He's crazy nervous and it really comes through. Maybe smoke a bowl or snap a small snap of zanny before filming. Just calm down and maybe try to go 15 seconds before saying something.
