He clearly has really severe colorblindness. He really is seeing some of these for the first time. When he said he'd never seen red before, I just couldn't...a world without red???? Glad you got him the glasses. Thanks for sharing.
The more I see older people get these, the more grateful I am that I got my six year old grandson these. It's almost heart breaking when they realize they've been missing everything all their lives.
If I may, the last few days I have seen different color blind people receive these glasses, they were different ages and as I think about it they were males, and I have to say heartfelt at their reactions to knowing the existence of things in true colors, the one thing that is constant in all the videos that I've seen is the overwhelming gratefulness of receiving such a (eyeopening)grift, and as for me, I never knew the Impact of not knowing that colors exist.only to find out later and people verify what the color blind sees.
This is the sweetest video I've even seen. He is so confused and sweet. I hope he is doing great and he is exploring colours even more! Love all the way from Poland
Oh mate! That was so inspiring! Your family is not clearly made of money, as we are not, but they had the heart to gift you with colours. I am so glad for you.
Thank You all for the amazing comments. Since this Video I have seen New Englands fall foliage for the first time in 58 years. I have been to a greenhouse full of flowers and yes sensory overload in about 30 minutes.. By far the greatest thing I have seen in color was the American Flag,,,,, Again thank you all Color is emotion
I wish I could have watched your dad experience spring colors. He’s so sweet and in awe of the color yellow. I would like to have been able to take him to a tulip, daffodil garden.
I never thought of that before, imagine trying on these glasses for the first time while on Acid.. I'm sure someone will/has one day and I hope it's recorded.
Sometimes in these videos the family members are shoving balloons in the person's face - this is cool because they are letting him experience them on his own.. and its so sweet that he keeps going back to them - the instructions say that it takes 10 to 15 minutes for the full effect to kick in, and I think he is seeing the colors more clearly each time he goes back to them. :)
Best reaction I’ve seen so far. Most people could pick out the colors after putting them on. This guy needed help to figure it out. You could tell it was a dramatic difference. That’s cool.
Because it isn't classed as a disease or condition, just a abnormality. Colour blind people to see colours but don't have a developed Retina that you or I have the colour spectrum. There is no cure but these glasses help the individual seperate the spectrum.
Welcome to the world of color!! All natural colors, when put together, creates white light. The white light can be fractured into color waves if the proper technique is used. Sir Isaac Newton first discovered how it works by using a prism, which when sunlight shines through, refracted light breaks into colors. Another example is a rainbow, which again is natural light being refracted, this time by water droplets in the atmosphere. A person sees a certain color when the light bounces off an object, all colors that are not the color of the object gets absorbed or cancels each other out. What bounces to your eye is the color waves and that goes through the iris, to cones and rods within the eye, which then our brain processes as the color. The wonderful thing about it is, the brain can receive and process so fast, we can see thousands of colors and variations of color simultaneously. That is why you are encouraged to go outside and not flip the glasses. Outdoors is natural light that produces many variations and depths of natural colors, unlike pigments. Pigments can imitate this if we mix them correctly. Millions of tints, tones, and shades can be produced from pigments, but keep in mind that the only pigments that cannot be made by man is red, yellow, and blue. We also have the neutrals, black and white. Using these colors can produce millions. Think of a house paint display in Home Depot. Flipping the glasses interrupts the flow of information the brain needs so each time people do that, it's like replaying a loop that the eye and brain must readjust to what it has seen before. There are indoor glasses. These will allow you to see pigments. However, you won't get the depth you get outdoors, but you're seeing what others see. Being an artist is an attempt to create 3-D out of a 2-D surface. A great artist for understanding that is Monet, the Father of Impressionism. The Impressionists were concerned with light as it hits an object and they mainly painted plein-air ( outdoors). That's why you may see many paintings of the same subject matter ( or series such as haystack or Rouen Cathedral where he was using 30 paintings through the day. Monet was painting LIGHT at different times of day. The forms were secondary to him, but if the painted the light, the form will come. A fun exercise would be to look at his series and see if you can tell the time of day it was painted. I am a Professor of Art and one of my favorite classes to teach is Color Theory. It's fascinating. Dr. McPherson really changed the world for millions if they can afford the glasses, which is well worth it. There are many more styles and variations than when he first started making them and the prices have changed too. My hope is to get a pair fir my granddaughter, who is one of those 1 in 200 females. Seeing the colorful world around us for the first time is a very emotional but exciting, wondrous experience.
I understand the balloons to see the primary colors but most comments are about how different the green in the trees look. The thousand shades of greens in nature. Obviously depends on the type of colorblindness.
DAYUM THATS GLORIOUS TO SEE THE BEAUTY OF COLOURS.... EH ?? Go to the PET STORE WITH AQUARIUM FISH Go to an AVIARY.... or buy a COLOURFUL BIRDS Documentary.
I’m not taking suggestions from someone who has a bunch of favorited videos of teenage boys working out on their page. That looks a little suspicious...
