Encouraging students to speak in English - small group work 

The teacher wants her class to complete a task in groups while speaking in English. When the task isn’t clear and the teacher is unsupportive, the students don’t cooperate. When she acknowledges their fears and frustrations, they are more willing to take risks and participate in the activity.
