Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words and am glad you enjoy hearing about my car. Happy New Year! May it be filled with blessings and good health for you.
Love this. My 2004 6-6 was my late father’s who loved it, he passed when I was 6 and i’m very happy to be able to own it now around 15 years later. Had it just over a year and she’s been a treat, just recently hit 90,000mi and I’m hoping to have mine last like yours has so I can pass it down to a kid of my own :)
That's amazing. Sorry about your father, but glad you have this connection. Such low miles. I don't know if I'd ever be able to let that car go if I were in your position.
Thanks! It's a great daily driver and fine for me. If I get the truck later next year, it would be just as a "want" to have something new. I go back and forth between keeping it as-is or getting Katzkin leather and repainting it.
@@txaccord I'm saving up to repaint mine, already have my trunk badging and a new grille and emblem, I still need to get new roof molding or repaint them but I am going for a like new restoration. I think these cars are definitely worth preserving, mine is only a DX, but yours is a 6 speed EX-L, and 7th gen Accords actually look really nice when the clearcoat is there.
Love high mileage stories! I have an extended oil change video up on my channel, and everyone comments how it’s impossible, I always think…there was a guy that went 1,000,000 miles doing 15,000 mile intervals in his Honda Accord! Big Def Leppard fan myself. I’ve seen them three times.
I still haven't reached out to Mobil 1 yet. I need to tell them about it. Definitely a good case study on how well their oil protects. Def Leppard will always be my favorite group. It all started with me wearing out a cassette tape of Pyromania as a kid in the 80s. I'll look for your oil chg video.
It’s awesome to see an update video about this legendary ride!! Nice to hear that engine burble without the misfire sound. Any upgrades or repairs planned for it in the near future? Thanks for posting this!!
I'd still like to get the SRS issue fixed to get that light to turn off. Definitely doing the VTEC soon. We'll see if I put any more money into it before HDay.
My 05 Sedan V6 just crossed 300k kms earlier this year. 700k kms more to go 🤞🏿 Got the ball joints on the lower front replaced recently. This is the second time I had to do after owning the car for about 1.5-2 years. Is this a common issue on these cars? I also have to replace the lower control arms as the bushing on them look bad Anyways congratulations again on reaching a million miles. Hopefully another million to go 🤞🏿
I've replaced my lower control arms a couple of times due to the compliance bushing cracking and wearing out. What kind of lower ball joints did you use? I will only use OEM lower ball joints on these cars. I had a shop replace them the first time. They used Moog. Moog is normally a good brand for aftermarket parts but their LBJs for these cars are garbage. They only lasted around 30k miles. The shop warrantied the work and installed another set of Moog. Same thing happened - premature failure. I switched back to OEM and replaced them myself. It's been fine since then. I had a big write-up about the whole experience in my thread on drive Accord.net and I mentioned that in my video about the ball joints. Good luck with your car!
I hope you have a great New Year filled with blessings and good health! Sadly, I wasn't able to use the ported lower intake runners. They didn't seem to line up perfectly where the intake could sit flat against them. I just wanted to get the car back going so I used the stock runners. It sounds like the ported ones would've given me the most gains out of the things I did. I did use the J35 intake as well as the throttle body spacer and thermal gaskets for that. I also used the Acura MDX crank pulley. It had been so long since the car was running well on 6cyls that I don't know how much quicker it feels now over stock. I wish I could say I definitely feel a difference over stock, but it's hard for me to compare that now. It is a whole lot better than being lethargic on 5cyls for sure. I wish I would've seen Pantera years ago. We did get to see Hellyeah with Vinnie before he passed. Zakk Wylde joined Pantera. Will be cool to see them.
I was delivering mostly medical stuff. It was meds to nursing homes and things to hospitals - specimen samples, medical supplies, etc. Also did med delivery to people's houses too.
Google courier service or delivery service in your area. If you're near a decent size city, you'll probably see some results of companies you can contact. There are also process servers for legal documents. That's another driving job.
My dad was a courier after he retired from a civil service job. He always had company cars. The best was '78-'79 Chevy Malibu coupes. The worst were '80-81 Chevy Citations. lol@@txaccord
Thank you! I appreciate you watching and commenting. Getting past 300k is a big accomplishment. Stuff starts wearing out and it takes money/commitment to keep them going like that.
