No , he got paid before the 2nd injury. No one is at fault when he gets injured after signing. They resigned pool,draymond,curry,kerr….. draymond is the reason why they didnt make the playoffs. The warriors shouldnt have even been in the play ins. Draymond got suspended 2 times last year……….
You acting like he didn’t deserve it warriors aren’t winning. Four titles with out Klay he was guarding the other teams best perimeter player. While Steph is hiding in the corner Klay was a legit two way.
@@burnedpotato4374 they were not in the playoffs because draymond was not playing. Yes u can point out the suspensions and ejections but when draymond plays he is very valuable to the team, klay was available but very inconsistent and its not like warriors traded him when he was injured or came of the injury, they gave him 2 and half seasons get back to being consistent atleast.
Lol I hear ya, but it’s it that deep. Steph is the leader of the team, he and Klay arguably are the greatest back court ever, and they won 4 rings together. So of course media and fans want to know has Steph talked to Coach Kerr or upper management. Obviously he’s not Klay’s agent and Klay’s a grown man, but it’s natural for media and fans to wonder what the leader of any team is doing or saying to management when a key player is possibly leaving.
@@daweeza42 but that literally doesn’t matter😭 curry can’t change anything to make klay stay. let curry have a season like klay did and warriors will look to trade him too lmao. i guess we needed to hear what curry had to say when draymond was going through his phases last season too since that what the media was asking.
@daweeza42 I mean curry said in the interview after they lost the play in we need klay I want him back so did Kerr and dray this is upper management and decision and that's just the business side of it
@@smartino546 all they are saying is Steph hasn’t said anything via social media or through the media. I’m not saying he should or shouldn’t. I’m just saying that’s what some media will definitely say and wonder.
Klay-s last contract was $189.9M for 5 yrs. He didnt play for 2 seasons, the first 2 yrs of that contract. They offered him $48M for 2 yrs last off season but he rejected that. I'm one of his true supporters. But the Dubs didn't do him wrong like these clowns are trying to start that bogus narrative just to have something to talk about.
When Perk speaks, just take the opposite side even if you don't know anything about the subject and you will likely be right. Perk and Nick Wrong should join forces and create a show called: "what's wrong is Wright"

@@NBADRACO23 What do all of those guys have in common? They've been healthy. Jrue, DWhite and Maxey haven't missed significant time due to injuries. Klay has played 2 full seasons in the last 4 years. He wasn't going to get that kind of money as an injury risk.
I agreed with Perk until Shannon brought up the contract that Klay turned down. A team-friendly deal that allows you to still shine in your role? I’m taking that in a heartbeat
Warriors have been super patient with Klay. Dude got paid handsomely while he sat out. When he came back they continued to stay patient while he struggles finding his shots.

@jamessanders5020 so Shannon after he said Lakers made the right draft move? Meanwhile everyone else said he ruined the Lakers trying to make himself look good
Not at all. They were offering the contract before the season even started. Wasn’t based on the bad season, the disrespect happened before. They also changed their offense which didn’t suit Klay.

Great take by Shannon. Gonna miss Klay big time, but he was paid very well for what he got, and passed on a big contract offer by the Warriors. One day he'll have his # retired by the Warriors, and get a big statue out front of the Warriors stadium. Til then I will miss seeing the other half of the Splash Brothers.
the warriors have been taking care of klay for almost his whole career, paying him after his injury and paying him after his worst season stats wise and all we are asking klay to do is take a paycut so we can add some for peices to help out the squad around curry and we offered him 2 years 48 mil and he declined, yall are making it seem like the warriors are not treating klay right or something😂😂😂

Gsw will never win again with out him. I bet you that. Klay probably play just as much games as draymond get suspended every few games. If it wasn't for him acting stupid gsw would have 6 championships

Glad GSW let Klay go. I would have liked him to stay, but he was asking for way too much for so little performance, he's clearly not close to the player he was, and they even gave him a max deal AFTER his devestating injury.
Klay need to know he ain’t worth it bruh.. he not Kobe to lakers! He now Steph to the Warriors! He was awesome but he has declined drastically for that system! Unc right! They paid you bruh and he bet on himself and it did not work out

I agree with Shannon. GSW stood by Klay after he got injured - signed him to the highest contract they could - paid him for two years when he didn’t play. I actually expected Klay to sign with the Warriors for a little less money. I don’t blame him for going somewhere else and getting more - but GSW haven’t wronged him.
Klay is the only warriors core player that has never taken a paycut. Steph was underpaid and didnt complain, iggy took paycuts, dray took paycuts. Even kd took paycuts. Klay has always been selfcentered and greedy. It was time for him to take a paycut and he refused. Let him go to dallas and when they lose they will blame him
Dynasties never end clean. Lakers (both Showtime and the Shaq/Kobe team), Bulls, Heat, Celtics, none end on a happy note. It sucks, but they probably should have moved on from Klay about a year ago. Klay is gonna be hurt, but give it a few years when it's retirement time, that bridge will get rebuilt.
Spurs are probably the exception if you don’t consider Kawhi’s exit as part of it as he was only there for 1 championship & was young. Duncan, Parker, & Manu all left on great notes with the Spurs.
@tribbo2703: Draymond has been the better player since Klay’s injury & he plays a more unique role for GSW, Draymond does all the little things. GSW made a conscious decision to choose Draymond over Jordan Poole essentially, Klay was just the odd man out.
Shannon seems to be the only analyst that has their mind straight in this situation. Everyone blaming the Warriors when they have not wronged this man at all, they paid him through hardship and injury.
Klay has the type of personality that is hard to move forward with as his skills begin to decline. I've seen post-game interviews when he had a bad game and he was arrogant, did not take accountability, and had surly responses. When he would lose games, he threw up his 4 rings taunt. To me, that's like saying, "Hey, look what I did in the past. We may suck right now, but you don't have 4 championships." A competitive person who still believes in what they can accomplish...won't rest on past accomplishments. They will still compete with the fervor that hey can win...they still believe.
Yup, Klay was salty about his contract, and his playing time. I'm sure that he was unpleasant to be around on a daily basis throughout the past year, and he was terribly inconsistent.
Shannon is exactly right. They paid Klay Thompson good money when he was playing good ball. DID THE WARRIORS TAKE ANY MONEY BACK WHEN THOMPSON PLAYED TWO GAMES IN TEN YEARS.
i'm not sure i get where perk was going at 2:25. he's saying klay's mind wasn't in the right place to play...how does that support his argument that klay is being wronged by the warriors?? i'll always appreciate his past successes, but if he wants to still be appreciated in today's nba, he needs to get his head back in the game, regardless of who he's playing for.

Klay Thompson is a shell of the player he once was....Unfortunately while his talent shrunk...his ego did not....I think the Warriors did their best to keep him....he had a rough season....but a max contract was not deserved.....the only thing that sucks is if the Warriors don't find adequate support to help steph get ring #5
It was clear as day if you weren’t a delusional warriors fan, Curry simply can’t get them over the hump, Kay was pretty much done, Draymond was never going back to that 2016 finals version, no star would want to play there.
Now these people clowning Steph again? I didn't see LeBron or KD become the leaders of their team like that since both guys are team hopping. When Kyrie leave the Cavs in 2017, there's no questions about Bron's leadership and Kai got all the hate. Now y'all asking Steph's leadership? 😂 We doesn't even know what's happening behind the cameras lol

Everybody knows they disrepected Klay compared to the way they hallowed Draymond! It was time for Klay to move on! However, the Warriors are not the team people thought they were in terms of living up to the true meaning of being a championship NBA team and a first class NBA franchise! They destroyed their image by the way they hallowed Draymond and disrespected Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson. They still don't realize it! I also don't see Draymond getting high marks for his team leadership ability other than by Steph and Coach Kerr!
Whats wrong is no one is seeing where Steph is at in the head. That’s his splash brother. He knows he can’t do it without him period. Their about to lose Steph and I know 2 perfect places for him too. Spurs with Wemby and Chris Paul. Lakers also and I’m originally from the Bay Area in Oakland. Just like I had to handle change being away from the West Coast and living in East Coast now. Change is coming, Steph isn’t just about money, he want a chip unless Durant goes back. Hmmmm. Draymond ain’t doing for them.
I dont get this !! Klay was making $35M to $40M per year for like the last 5 years with GS ...leaving that to go to Dallas for $16M a year...$43M last year with GS...Klay took an $80M PAYCUT!
He's come right out and said it multiples times that's why he's happy Pat McAfee and everyone is getting their money because they are setting the market for him when it's time for his deal.
And Clay didn't get much more with Dallas. So...the market spoke and he's worth what he's worth. Once you have major injuries you're a big gamble as an athlete.

I think this is a good move for the warriors and klay in general. I think Klay can't play the third option while being at Golden state if they can't find a decent 2nd option. Being the 3rd or 4th on the Mavericks might just revitalize Klays game, especially with some of the scoring pressure lifted off his shoulders. It's sad to see him go and he will be missed, but i think he can go clear his mind and game somewhere else; it might be better for him in the long run.
How it look bad on the warriors i don’t care who you are if you go 0-10 or whatever it was your not getting a 100 million plus contract and they paid Klay while he was injured almost for 3 years they could’ve of traded him to another team but no they kept him the warriors wasn’t wrong they was loyal to me.
