Yeah I Was Shocked Too. I Didn’t Even Know Who He Was Until The Aaliyah 8 Passenger Plane Video Recommendation But The I Care 4 U Is One Of My Favorite Aaliyah Recordings.
Wooow he was so young. This hits home because my husband has kidney failure and is on home dialysis now. It's so rough on the body. He still works full time as a trucker and many doctors don't suggest it but he refuses to sit still and go on disability. Thank you for this. ❤
Never Givin' Up is such a CLASSIC R & B ballad. Tavarius Polk was TALENTED beyond his years. Can't believe he was ONLY 14 when he sang his heart out with the great Aaliyah! Rest easy with Babygirl. So sad! 😔🙏🏾❤🕊️
Had no idea that Tavarius Polk wrote I Care 4 U all this time it had Missy Elliott as the writer 🤔it’s sad he didn’t get the credit he deserved for the song imagine if him and Aaliyah did a video back then for Never Givin Up how beautiful it would’ve been RIP Tavarius 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Man, I wasn't ready for that ending. Everytime I've heard "Never Giving Up", I've always wondered about Tavarius' story and hoped he was doing well, so this hurts! Thank you Jeury for shining a light on this brother!
The amount of rare footage and audio clips in this is amazing!!! Iconic. Never Givin' Up and I Care for You are in my top 5 songs for Aaliyah. His voice on NGU is unmatched.
Damn, Juery...you did an excellent job covering T. Polk's story! I followed him, and learned so much more than I thought I would ever. Thank you, Fam. Missing you, Tavarius Polk, and you won't be forgtten.
It’s so sad that not having enough money can prevent you from a life-saving operation. I’ve never heard of him before but I’m glad you told a bit of his story ❤
I talked to Tavares on RU-vid after i heard his new music on here.. i commented on how great his song was and he was really cool person who reached out and thank everyone
Damn...... Thanks for another solid video, Jeury. The Illu still get the wise ones who don't go all in🫤😔 Sometimes, even if they had a quick meeting or did sporadic behind the scenes studio work with "the elites," that's a dangerous transference. They hate when you share the REAL truth. Definitely a talented dude who did a lot of unsung work we gave other artists acclaim for. RIP Tavarius.
Wow. I spoke to Tavarius back in 2016 on the phone for a few days. I believe I was 22-24 yrs old trying to get into the industry. I really wanted help to get better at my craft; not even sure how to. So I asked him to be my mentor or help me with something; those few days weren’t the best. He made sexual advances at me and I was taken back and very confused cause all I wanted was a bit of help or advice. Didn’t talk to him after that ; my mind was not processing. but seeing this solidified my decision to be a record label owner and production company to have artist have a better outcome. He was definitely a great songwriter/singer and told me stories of Aaliyah. For example, he told me when he was 15. Aaliyah dared him to get a tattoo. I believe he said she made him get her name and paid for it 😂 I was like what!? Aaliyah was laughing cause he was in pain but that’s a definite memory I remembered from him telling me prior before his passing
Yeah Brandy was on some sneaky snake sh--, she had such a gross attitude back then and stayed hating on Aaliyah. She tried that with Monica but Monica wasn't playing with her.
Yes!!!! I thought I was the only one who felt like that about Brandy in the 90s. To hear her on interviews now , saying she adored Aaliyah and she was inspired by one in a million and that’s how we got her album Never Say Never , it always made me raise an eyebrow
What I like about Travis is that he didn’t get pulled into this music industry and let it take him under. He he did it for the craft not for the money or fame. It’s barely heard of nowadays where artists they about money cars and jewelry plus he didn’t lose weight to impress people. He did it for health reasons that is very smart. He doesn’t care what anybody thinks or says He’s just does it for him. And he was planning to expose this dirty grimy greedy music industry for what it is and when you do that they have to take you out one way or another RIP to Travis Polk
I feel he answered that Aaliyah didn’t want to do certain (sick) things the industry was demanding and that’s why she was taken out💔 RIP to Aaliyah & Tavarius 🤍
I love this duet song "Never giving up"by Aaliyah and Tavarius Polk that was a very nice collaboration between the both R&B singers he has an amazing talented his vocals are outstanding he is a great song writer I wish he could have sing more songs together with Aaliyah. He will be missed rest peacefully in heaven Mr Tavarius Polk.
he was a wise & smart man who actually read his contract carefully and wasnt willing to let the industry control him big ups to him and r.i.p Tavarius Polk
Oh my God Tavarius . I was working with 3Boyz from Newark at the time when they were working with Aaliyah (Never Giving Up had already been recorded.) Rest in Power King 👑❤️.
Aaliyah's song I care for you is one of my favorite songs of hers along with One in a million, 4 page letter and if your girl only knew and try again and back at one piece. His version of I care for you is beautiful. He had a beautiful voice. R.I.P to them both
Thank you for sharing he was very talented and underrated to many but yet overrated to those that know how hard he worked and how much he sacrificed … I hope he wrote something down for his life story and his dream of making a movie from it becomes reality 🙏🏾🙏🏾 Rest easy 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Wow! RIP Tavarius Polk 😢 Seem like all of the ones with the special powerhouse soulful voices die so young Aaliyah Dino from H-Town Kenny Green of Intro Tony Thompson from Hi-Five Darrell "Dezo" Adams of Basic Black and 911 Jeff "Fuzzy" Young from Somethin' 4 the People Static Major of Playa Quindon Tarver Nate Dogg Johnny P
Yup Just two weeks ago, 😪😢 if it wasnt for this video we wouldn't have prolly known anything happened to him til years from now, 🤦🏿 magoo either. He be on that shit, justified by jury does not play! 🚀🎯
Wow, I'm just now hearing about Tavarius Polk recent passing 😢 i remember being 6 years old in 96' listening to "Never Giving Up" in the chevolet blazer with my late mom back then on a blank cassette tape player. Although the song wasnt an official single back then, somehow my mom recorded it on her cassette by listening to a radio station, I guess promoting Aaliyah's One In A Million Album. I havent heard anyone on the news mention his passing until watching this RU-vid channel this morning 😞
Can you do a video on Robert (Rob) Pilatus? He was the other half of Milli Vanilli and I feel he doesn’t get enough recognition. He was taken advantage of at a young age and I think more people can relate to him than not.
They didn't fly Tavarius out alone to work on Never Giving Up nor the records associated with the One In Million album! During those times, it was the whole group Zake, Pierre and Booby included when "they" the entire group worked on arranging records for Missy, Playa, Gina Thompson and all of the other artists who were workinh with Blackground Atlantic during those times. Also, the original vocal arrangements for I Care For You were done by Gina Thompson and the original record was recorded by Soulja and leads were performed by Tavarius Polk and Xavier Harris! There's alot of misinformation happening right here but overall not a bad Doc on my lil bro. He was alot more than a singer/songwriter. He was a gentle guy who embellished alot but meant well in his motives. When Aliyah passed, he was home relaxing and confused with everyone else I remember it all like it was yesterday. Tavarius was a ball of energy like a comet that burned brightest but fizzled out unexpectedly two days before this Father's Day. RIP my brother Tavarius Marquise Polk love ya bruh
Do note that much of the information in this video is based off of Tavarius’s own words from his interviews with ClubRich and Vibe, along with his posts and videos from his social media accounts. If there’s any additional information not included in the documentary, it’s because there’s no trace of it online. Tavarius himself stated that he did all of the vocal arrangements with Missy for I Care 4 U and never mentioned Gina Thompson, nor is Gina Thompson credited on the song. Essentially, it’s his word vs the next man’s. However, I understand that sometimes when an artist tells a story, his associate, best friend, or family member might be like “nah that ain’t how it happened bruh”. Therefore, I’m not discounting your version of events, I’m simply citing my sources. I will however, correct you on the date of death which was in fact, June 16th, which was Father’s Day. Thank you for your input and thanks for watching. 🙏🏾
@justifiedbyjeury naah it's all love and respect fam. I rather enjoyed this short doc you put together for T based on what you could locate on him. He was a good brother, and this attention on him and his life is more than well deserved. Tavarius had a lot of people in his corner but also had a lot of haters who pretended to love and honor him in order to stay close and get ideas for records and arrangements. He is already missed severely by those who really knew and loved him cause he was quite a character, to say the least! You did great brother. You did great, and please don't take it personally if more people come and add or take away from your findings. It's just that everybody grieves differently. You did great man.
Facts bro, I appreciate it. Hopefully one day his close family will put together a full documentary on his life.. and maybe use some of the scripts he was working on. He was an amazing talent forreal.
@justifiedbyjeury his wife is putting it together as we type bro. Also, a former manager Kenny Quiller is said to also be working on one as well. I apologize if my initial comments came off as aggressively corrective I'm just grieving brother and I almost felt like you and I were in the same room exchanging memories and recounting events. Again, you did really really well with this fam. I'm actually gonna send this to his wife and sons. Salute and keep bringing these types of stories of unsung legends to our people as we are a great people and don't get enough positive images and storylines as to our greatness as a people in these anti-black socially engineered propagated times. Salute to you and this phenomenal channel bruh.
Of course! And no, I took your comment as someone who is a close friend making sure the details are precise lol. Trust me, I’ve lost people close to me just in the past month and whenever I hear someone talk about em, I want nothing more than to call them up personally and get their side of the story. Tavarius had been so vocal in documenting his life that it’s surreal with him not being here to put his two cents in. He should’ve been given his proper flowers for all of his contributions over the years. Thank you for sharing your sentiments, bro and please feel free to share this video. I look forward to seeing the documentary his family puts out. 🙏🏾
It doesn’t matter if I knowingly or unknowingly know of the person on the title when I see a post from you, I’m going to watch. You never fail to do a thorough and easy to follow story that does that person justice and keeps my interest from start to finish. 💛🫡
Me too @treybaybie…. I’ve never even heard of this guy but I’ll always support justified’s channel so I’ll always watch…. He has introduced me to a lot of people
