It is quite remarkable how you figured all this out, Dan, the measurements, the cuts, the mortise and tenons, the perfect joins... not only are you a renaissance man you are an absolute GENIUS! Dan, Nic, and Brian, you are all amazing!!! 💪💪💪🥰
He needs to get that tied in to the mansard ASAP now. It could still fall victim to the wrong wind. Once he gets the cladding on, the wind can eddy round it, and strangely the wind loading can increase or suction take place.
@@PreservationEnthusiast I wonder if it has steel reinforcement, hence it's stood so long. It would be interesting if Nick could run his metal detector over it.
I bet that every time Dan enters the chateau, he looks up at that brick/stone work and hopes it hangs in there a little longer. I’m sure he’ll fix it asasp
Thousands of viewers are celebrating with you and the two men with you. A Good week's work of framing. There is bunch of brick and stone work ahead. We will be happily watching. Enjoy family time. Blink your eyes and the boys will be young men off to College.
I love how chuffed you are with your work, Dan - and rightly so, especially in the context of being the size of a 2-storey house on top of a château! Thrilling to watch and each video makes an evening complete. Bon weekend! ❤❤❤
It looked like a wonderful house. Now it looks like a magical castle. I don’t know how you were able to design all that new bit. Genius as everyone is saying.
Good morning team❤ Wooow she’s going to be impressive all right !!!…. You Mr Dan and the team are completely amazing and nuts at the same time 😂 But we still love you 🤭…. No one ever thought you’d be this far ahead from the very start… I’m sure we are all gobsmacked and going Woooow !!!!… Fantastic progress guys … Have a fantastic weekend team and I’ll see you on my Tuesday ❤
@@MGood-q1o Copper for the flashing, but in other videos Dan has talked about how the roof was originally slate tiles. He even managed to salvage a few of the old slates to find out what the thickness was.
I believe the château are done with slate. At least the other château, on RU-vid are all slate. It also depends on that area in France, and what the requiring usually don’t let you deviate too far from what it was original.
I'm so glad the 3 Amigos are back together , Dan , I thought you were going to have heatstroke with the heavy load you were doing by yourself ! Hope you lads had a few pints at the end of the day .
I’m starting to see how these initial 3 sections of roof are going to tie together. Really excited to see the initial demolition and reconstruction of the main roof tower section. Should be able to get the roof finished and the rest of the building “dried in” if even temporarily prior to the winter season. I can hardly wait for the time when the beautiful new windows start going in. What a handsome estate she’s gonna be again!
To Dan,Nick,Brian ,all Dan’s subscribers have a good weekend 100%! Can’t wait to see the finished central part of the roof! What a project and huge progress too👋👏👏👏🙏♥️🌹
The new structure is visible from the front but when it’s clad and the tower is finished it will be very much in the background. It’s an unusual design for sure and complex in many ways. So much progress with three. Fantastic.
C'est magnifique!! It's absolutely amazing to see her getting so much closer to as she was. Your neighbors must be thrilled to see the Phoenix rising from the ashes. A grand old dowager one step closer to being whole again. Well done gentlemen. Well done indeed! 😘👌
Yay Dan, Nick & Brian! This is the best channel. Besides the wonder of your building work, Dan your video skills are so SMOOTH! Love you guys. Love from Pam in London.
I was watching the restoration of Notre Dame yesterday, and I’m now looking at the same restoration technique and same challenges. A really good job done by the Dan and the crew
You will definitely see me Monday!! I couldn't believe it, I was actually wet-eyed watching that go up today. I need to toughen up. smile! It looks simply WONDERFUL!!
When you started this I thought it was way too much of a project... but now I think I was wrong. You are doing a great job and it is amazing to see the progress. Good for you!
I have had just a wonderful time watching your project take shape. You have enormous courage to undertake a restoration of this magnitude. Now you have me riveted to the screen waiting for the next episode. Bless you for saving the unsalable!
Absolutely fantastic Dan! You, Brian and Nick are the dream team. Im so excited to see each video, so much progress in such a short time. Super impressive!!
What a transformation already compared to what it looked like before at the start it’s really starting to take shape well done fantastic work you should be proud of what you have achieved.
Lookin' AWESOME, DAN, NICK AND BRIAN!!! Sooo excited to see how far you've come in just one short year plus all the research going into the building and history and architecture. Bustin' w' pride, Son!!!
Can't wait for the two spires to go up on that roof, marking the end of a massive and very important part of the renovation, the speed this is taking shape is fantastic
Dan, what a brilliantly filmed and edited video. You are incredible at what you do behind and in front of the camera. It's like the most complicated jigsaw and you will conquer it all. Awesome work.
The building is the size of a two-story house, on top of a Chateau. Thats incredible. The room you will have there will be big enough to put a big screen theater in. I want to buy a ticket and come over for a movie night. I am sure many of your fans will want to too. I will bring the popcorn for all!!!
I nearly fainted. I don't like heights, you guys are amazing. I didn't realize how much I was holding my breath watching this. Stunning. Happy weekend to you all, from a very sunny and hot Bournemouth. Onwards and upwards as they say
I feels so deeply touched by your capacity to commit to a dream and making an art out of seeing thru 4 all to enjoy. A task of great poetry🌹🌹🌹 in these precarious times. Thanks Dan and The Band
Love watching your videos...great content. The wooden pegs are called "trunnels" or "tree nails" in the wooden boat industry... just thought you might like to know... 😊
A long time ago there was an architect who decided to design this château. And now Dan is doing it all over again! Chapeau Dan and friendly helpers. Have a great weekend! Brigitte 🌷
It's a grand palace, Dan! I can't wait to visit!🎉 (Glad I get to watch early today! I'm thankful for my job, but miss getting to watch as soon as released.Keep up the amazing work!!)
Wow the photographer is outstanding great work Dan another proud week of accomplishments the three musketeers you must feel so satisfied at the end of the weekend ! 😀😍
I'd love to hear something about the plans for the chimneys. Seems like you'd want to rebuild them before walling them off behind the mansard. It should be thrilling work either way.
