+M3D13V4L yeh ive said people will lose lives in this game - if you also had a VR headset and a chair with hydraulics that followed joystick movements, well i think you get the point - ive never played it but im sure i could play it for hours on end....
So you find some exotic plants on a distant world. You discover that they require a fine mist of moisture, special acidic soil and mid level radiation. You tend to your crop every day, and then finally, the day of harvesting arrives. And then some little shit who got Star Citizen for Christmas blows your greenhouse apart because they're bored. It's just like real life.
greedobob if that happens to you, I'll help you..... Murder that piece of shit.... Again and again and again till he quits playing... It's unfortunate, but I've met such assholes in the ptu. I'm usually nice to people, but such asswipes have forced me to go on a murder spree more than once now..
vijaylakshmi kunchu So long as you stay in UEE space, if he does do such things he'll be a wanted criminal who will forfeit entering UEE systems and will have bounty hunters on his ass 24/7.
If I were financially "loaded" I could see myself spending $1,000 on a vehicle in a video game, BUT I can't even afford to purchase a computer good enough to run this game!
I want to make a hospital ship with some cutlass reds as ambulances and the med bays. Imagine supporting an armada in the middle of combat, ferrying wounded soldiers back and forth. So fucking cool.
With extensive refitting I would hope. Wouldn't be much good if the Orbiter still needed big ass drop tanks to get to orbit, but then most of the ships in the game don't seem to care about fuel at all. fighters seem to be all engine and crew space, no room for fuel.
They were saying that it's kinda what they're going for, while they're not planning to release old models at the moment (as far as I'm aware), they have said that they're planning to iterate on the current models on the future, so you'd get, for example 2944 Aurora, then 2946 Aurora, etc. If they'd do that at the start, the game would never be released :)
In 2021, without the game having been released yet but having a better understanding of how the game tech works and how much work it is to implement features, this ship still seems like pie in the sky. Particularly with some of those concepted modules it looks like something that might come out as part of a future expansion... future as in the future of the future where the PU is mostly "feature complete" and has been released for awhile and CIG just needs some insane challenge to move on to next to expand the universe and features beyond what anyone thought was possible a decade prior. A particle collider that improves components? Really? And that telescope array... how in the WORLD would that work with OCS? Is it going to peer into Quantum and looks at probabilities and give you a report? Is OCS going to have to stream in sectors of space at far distances from any active player? Raises some interesting questions about long range scanning and probe implementation in-general.
I just started this game, go to look at reviews for the Endeavor. Come across this made HOW MANY YEARS AGO??? how long had this game been showing these ships.
I don't play Star Citizen, and I haven't had much interest in it seeing as you acquire ships through micro-transactions. I thought that was the only way to do it until now, I didn't know there was even a plan to make ships obtainable in game. It's an interesting model though. You CAN fork over $500 for a giant spaceship, or you can work for the in game cash and go about it that way. Before I thought it was just a cash-grab with the excuse of IMERSHUN that would turn the whole game into pay-to-win garbage... But it's actually an interesting approach to in-game purchases.
I would like to know what kind of game play experience the developers envision for the science and medical modules. What do you actually do with them in the fully developed game? For example, would owning a science module enable you to hire npc scientists to develop sellable/buildable tech? Would the location of the pod affect the rate of development for different technologies and products? For example having the pod on a jungle planet would give a boost to drug development..
My Ideal endeavor would be equiped with every comodity needed for biological studies, that is a Biodomes module, a GRP module, and a GSP module. With that you can land on a planet with the Explorer shuttle to collect samples, grow the plants in the biodomes and then fully analyse them with the GRP's and GSP's. Then, since you're basically equiped with a state-of-the-art lab, you can make medicine or fuel with the grown plants (or "space drugs", yes).
It's not what I am looking for in a ship (at least not yet) but I love the fact that these things will be out there! This is the sort of thing that will make the universe so amazing and diverse
This ship is a long-term goal to work towards. The real-money prices are just insane. I know that the money is used to support the development of the game, though I think if overall prices are lower, more people would think about buying ships. I mean, 1000 $, honestly, plenty of people out there do not even earn that much in a month! This is just some virtual stuff, pixels on a monitor. I also do not understand why ships are available for a limited time only. Wouldn't it make more sense to allow people to buy those ships once they are concepted? There are plenty of new "players" which joined the game and would love to support the game and buy one or multiple ships though they can't as their desired once aren't on sale atm. Either they buy these ships on the grey-market (and risk losing a ton of money) or they won't spend money and wait till the game goes live (if and whenever that will be) and do not add to the support of the game that way.
+I Blame Hank Same. I'm in a large transport organization for my Starliner activities. However, I'm hoping people from our old ArcheAge guild will come on board and we operate this as an organization business. I took the plunge and bought the Master Set. Time to start putting on the screws! they're interested just not engaging with the game yet.
+I Blame Hank Im thinking of buying the endeaver as a support ship for my retaliator but Im not really part of an organization anymore since the last one I was in was shut down and seeing your post here peaked my interest, still recruiting? I have some friends too that were also kicked off when the org shut down too
Greg Barnes I'll have to speak to my friend, I'm a co leader of it, but as of now it's just friends who all know each other irl/have played together for years, maybe he will consider opening it up for others.
Wait! The command module can detach for "high risk" missions, but the rest of the ship can't move without the command module. So if the command module gets destroyed while on one of those "high risk" missions, everybody else in the rest of the ship is still doomed?
It'd be nice if leaving the lab section behind gives it a large em/heat sig reduction proportional to how much profile sig it'll lose by removing the explorer section.
i wish they would have made the bio-domes bio-spheres, it would look more spacey. you would simply have the gravity flipped on one side of the bio-sphere
Pledged for the Base plus fuel, collider, med bay and landing bay add ons way to many ships now at 26 + but it's all going to a great cause and we get our dream game, if you are going to CitizenCon a week saturday come up and say hi, I'll have LTI on the back of my shirt :)
Great mate I've asked sandi G if the team are going to meet up with the backers pre event and she said she will let us know as and where if they do I'll post here in case they do so we can all meet up! Been waiting for a uk event for years! So excited can't wait!
I would love to take this in to deep space, and explore for weeks, we could use the hanger for a few smaller exploring ships and all the reserch/exploring equipment we would need and bio domes for food and water.
Wow, They devs have obviously been sucking on someone's crack pipe if they they any normal person will spend that type of money on something that doesn't even exist. Mental, just tell us when PU is coming out! Good video, well edited.
wasnt this game supposed to go live over a year ago?. You would think with over $100 million they could afford the staff to finesh the game. So many are buying ships for game that may NEVER go live.
It got delayed so much because they got so much more money than they thought they would that they expanded the scope of the game. I personally would much prefer a much higher quality game that takes an extra year or two than a shit game that comes out when it's supposed to
+BoredGamer You could turn your plants into more valuable chemistry if I understand it right. Sure is a shame that you can't also produce research data. Maybe we'll see a combined Research/Science pod.
BoredGamer If I wanted this as a mobile base for a bounty hunter, what class would you recommend? Do you think its worth to get the basic model, and buy a landing bay, biodome, and perhaps a supercollider?
Alright, I dropped the money for a Hope class. I'll probably get the dish and science module at release, didn't wanna spring an extra $200 just for those. Let's HOPE it was the right choice ;D
This is a great multipurpose ship but only if u have friends to help crew it when u are using it. Because it has currently a crew stat of 16. These are crew positions critical for the smooth operation of the ship. Put this in perspective an Idris has a crew stat of 10. You can use NPCs for some of the positions or stations but how effective NPC crew members will be....well who knows at this point. Additionally u will need escorts of some kind if u want to venture out into the black with this ship.
+Bob Smith well, they have always said their NPCs will be very advanced and will be as effective as real players. lets hope they achieve that cause I have no friends who play SC yet :(
She is so extremely beautiful, but I can't figure out what kind of research there will be going on that would be an unique feature to this kind of ship
+Jost Ruttel Okay, now I see that this is in fact the only ship that actually is capable of attaching that kind of awesome modules - I am actually even more impressed. Me precious
I wonder if the detachable bridge section can link up to a different ship’s central section. Then an expedition with both a ‘hospital ship’ and an ‘observatory/science ship’ could utilise whichever bridge section was available in an emergency.
No. You don't. You can pledge $350 dollars and you will receive this ship upon the game's release. You can buy a starter package for $45 and then earn in-game currency to purchase this ship.
Awesome video and thanks for joining me on stream. I hope next time we play together we can get a match where you can survive the servers :D Take it easy mate.
+joesgotmore I support CIG selling ships to make money... but this kinda makes me feel bad. Exploration will be a limited discovery thing. The first people to discover planets will be credited with it, and people who have big groups in expensive ships like this at launch will probably get them first. And if you plan to use it as a hospital/spawn hub, any big corps that have this will be able to take over areas of space easily and fast before most people even get acclimated. I am sure Chris will find a way to do something about it, but it does make me a little worried. I've spent about $150 on the game, but that doesn't get me on equal starting ground with some of these really expensive ships. I just don't have the money for it.
***** Good points but I wouldn't worry about it too much. Planetary discovery most likely will not be available out the gate so others can earn the credits to search the stars too. I imagine that to start with there will be other more common things to find like asteroid fields, comets, stellar debris, derelict ships, and jump points. The more permanent things will be extra hard to find as all the assets will have to be built. Even if some of it is procedural. Another thing too is the size of ships. Getting to the far reaches of space will likely take longer in big capital ships, even with jump points. Finding a JP that can accommodate them will be a challenge to begin with. Smaller ships will be the way to go in my opinion as they can get to the edge of space faster. Although they will lack the fuel to stay for long. It is all about balance.
+Boss Galka You are right that most of the casual gamers will start with a disadvantage and the gap will most likely never get closed. But the issue isn't that ships are sold! In games like this there are always core gamers with more time and players with a lot of friends or that are organized in huge orgs. If the game is released on a monday and you start playing the next weekend, you will not be able to find something new around your starting point.... People that start to play a month later, would have no hope to expore something, if the game wouldn't be designed in a way that new stuff is generated permanently to keep the game interesting. Big orgs will spend months to figure out how to rule areas and probably fight each other for some dominance. But this isn't an issue for the casual gamer and if someone wants to be part of an org, he/she can join one. The one fear I have are pirates. You don't need an expensive ship to ruine the day for a person in a starter ship. But I guess there will be ways to keep areas safe enough to have fun for everyone. Because of the multicrew aspect of most of the bigger ships, there is a huge incentive to join orgs anyways, there is no point to look at these expensive ships and cry about empty purses. The people with ships will beg you to join their ships, because most will not have enough friends to operate the ships they have.
Liking what's coming for modular systems. I still wonder how that will play out for hangars and room modularity. In any case, hoping to luck across an Endeavour sometime in the future where I'll just find one floating.
This is the one ship I want but no way i can afford it, Makes me so glad this game is not pay to win. this is the first ship i will be working to buy in game Or steal if the opportunity arises.
A practical thought; Endeavors as support ships for foliating and populating settlements on newly discovered planets in new systems charted by carrack, Odyssey class exploration ships. Or wandering like the Battle Star Galactica's "rag tag fleet" an exodus of ships in search of earth 😄if CIG decides to melt an inhabited planet for the Cross Planet Upgrade (CPU)😳
We will be able to buy this stuff with in game currency when it comes out, right? I'm not paying 100$ for a fucking pixelated ship that costs more than the fucking game.
UEC. When the game comes out you could purchase UEC with real money too if you want, but it can be earned in the game like normal. If you just play the game a lot and get lots of money you can buy anything.
+Preston Starnes You can earn ships or at least a Gladius by Referring friends to the game. Once the game goes live you'll be able to get them by just playing.
+BoredGamer Okay I see so the physical money purchases are just to back the developer? Once the game comes out they have confirmed that the ships can be unlocked via in game?
Yea, I saw that. I had to double check by asking. There are a lot of read between the lines in games now a days. I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. Thank you for responding, made me feel loads easier, and more excited about playing the game. Being a college student my pocket isn't that deap. Even though I would not mind supporting the devs.
I do generally watch your videos and most of them are quite informative, with the exception of this format where you parrot the information from the RSI website. I was expecting your own impressions or your own views on the ship/sale not a word-for-word repeat of the text from the source of the sales. I am sure someone would argue they don't have the time to go read a series of texts but it's on the website that you would have to visit anyway if you were planning on buying this or any new concept ship - it's impossible not to stumble on this information. If you do want to expand on what CIG puts out though then just summaries the information in your own way without literally reading every.single.word from their webpage. Do a bit more in-depth research, check the Q&As, go through the forums add to the discussion. Just some constructive criticism brah!
well, Instead of offering more easier-to-build spaceships, they often seem to center their attention towards massive ships that eventually massively expand the game on their own - just for to gain money trough concept sales.
+Espere312 this comment right here, is what is ruining games nowadays. I don't care if they take 3 more years to fully release this game. The creators of this want to make something like no other, create a game that would simulate a real universe. Why would you want. A bunch of half assed ships? Just so you can dogfight and fps? If so you shouldn't even buy this game, just pick up elite dangerous. If you can't appreciate the time and effort they're putting into these ship designs and all the mechanics to make them unique.. I have no words. My jaw is constantly on the ground watching and reading anything about this game.
I just watched Angry Joe review on outlast 2, and i was thinking the blood looked awesome, so when killing some (both comments based on star citizen and squadron 42) the blood should look perfect. a head shot on someone who is wearing no helmet should leave blood perfectly seeping out of the persons head. spillages of blood. blood should look, spill, and seem real. blood footprints and all that. and bodies do not disappear after time but only when the game restarts or after extended duration's of time. most games need to work on blood splatter too. like rainbow six siege blood splatter looked dreadful. And maybe even see bullets shredding armour apart.
Do you ever wonder how CIG feels when their creations go out into the wild? The huge ships are going to be a troll's wet dream. On the flip side, a movie quote: "The first thing you've got to learn about this ship is that she was designed by geniuses to be run by idiots."
If you can't put 20 of the center together with one back jump drive and front one with a jump drive it will nothing at all and garbage with out a jump drive for a front and back.
i only have 3 ships at the moment (constelation, gladius and titan) this is the one i really want, it has so many options for exploration instead of combat but paying that price for funding is a big ask right now.....guess ill just have to save in game currency when its available
how does the satellite array compare to the Terrapin? I ask this because, why not just use one in place of an Array? I wouldn't mind housing a ship or two to act as modules ;)
Actually i have a question: Can it land as a whole or only the explorer can land while the back must stay in orbit or docked somewhere? Especially considering that the hangar module takes up a lot of space
This is a ship that sounds really cool on paper, but doesn't take into account the amount of people who play multiplayer games with the pure goal of causing as much trouble as possible. The first thing people will do once these are feature complete is spawn onto one, retrieve their fighter, and then try to immediately blow it up.
+Chris Taylor I'm sure there will be effects. There's an effect for blacking out, so I'm sure they will make effects for being drunk or being high. Lmao
+Dustin Powell A good observation. I hope you're correct. What's the point of being a "space pusher" if all it does is generate profit like any other cargo run? I'd love to see addiction mechanics too, to encourage repeat business after the chuckle of a few visual effects wears off.
