before Oct 7 no mainstream media was talking about the atrocities israel was committing against Palestinian children. if Oct 7 didn't happen, most people on the planet would have no idea about the nightmare Palestinians have to endure since 1948.
Yeah just like they are still not talking about Yemen, Sudan, Nigeria etc. Why do you think people are so passionate about Palestinians and not others? Is it a race issue since Palestinians are considered arab or is it because the oppressor is Israel?
@@Canyouseemeanna As far as Americans, it effects us directly with tax money not going where it should, waking up to the fact our government is a criminal organization, and being potential terrorist targets thanks to our fearless leaders. Better late than never. But they still have the weapons the UK are supplying eh? The thing is by the time this genocide has finished there won’t be any need for a ceasefire as there won’t be anybody left in Gaza, nor any buildings, hospitals, water or food.
And I'm of Viet descendant. My family lived through the Vietnam war. Seeing the parallels in the dehumanization of the Palestinians the same treatment (or even worse) the Viets received makes a numbing and blood boiling experience for me. And to most POC Americans as we mostly came from countries savaged by American wars. What a psychopath the nation of which we're both citizens is.
@@churrothiev8387 I agree brother. It's so sad when you are in a society where you have to proof your humanity. For some reason, the US always need an enemy to invade and destroy and the price is always the slaughter of their people.

A great point. I was looking at resistant fighters in Europe the other day. They were clever, brave and some were very brutal . Today they are remembered with pride. So will the resistance in Palestine.
"I don't remember one occupation in which the occupier presented himself as the victim, we are the victims, we are forced to kill their children, poor us.” ~ Israeli journalist Gideon Levy
Maybe they could start by having free and universal elections - or did you merely mean an elite group of "Palestinians" should govern the rest without their consent?
This war made me realize what an uncivilized world we live in. People boasting about killing civilians and a lot more are supporting and defending their actions. Talking about reducing emissions for future generations but at same time eradicating some future generations.
I am glad you finally woke up, but really things had to get this bad for you to notice? SMH, no wonder we're screwed, no one pays attention until it's too late.
So true. Yesterday I saw a comment on facebook from a woman worrying about a 2 year old child living with a pitbull dog, yet her status says, "Long live Israel" 🙈 The double standard with that one is SOOO HUMONGOUS, I just can't.
As a Palestinian i got to thank you for putting up Israelis that share these opinions, its give me hope that one day my children will be able to experience peace. Something that my family hasn't experienced in generations
Arabs and other terrorists supporters, who stuck in Medieval Ages, should look into encyclopedia to find out that Palestine is a geographic area, it includes Jordan, Israel, part of Egypt and parts of Syria. There is no such ethnicity as Palestinians. Some nomad tribes leaving in the area decided to declare themself "Palestinians". Saudis don't even recognize these tribes as Arabs. Obviously, Jordanians and Israelis are also Palestinians. So to hum you desire to be strong?
In the 70s, when I was a student, I really admired Israel. I even wanted to go and live on a kibbutz for a while. From then to now, my feelings have changed a lot. Maybe, I was getting wrong news then. But this genocide has really opened my eyes!
@@gabriellejudd1 Yes and no. There was a time when Israel did consider a peace with its neighbours but that time ended about 30 years ago. Before that was mistreatment but there was still a thought that, one day, it might be different.
@@MrBrock314the Nakba of 1948 was not "mistreatment" it was ethnic cleansing and genocidal acts were committed. These are all documented by Israel itself.
Reminds me of all those people that lived in the towns surrounding the concentration camps and pleaded ignorance to the crimes committed right under their noses
Don’t forget that most people who protested would have been threatened themselves with many who did protest such abominations, being put into those same ‘camps’ - also at the time, they were described as ‘labour or worker’ camps so it is not that simple

In the end the fact that Netanyahu continues to lead has to say a lot about the Israeli people, despite what happens after this attack. There will be consequences for Israel, global consequences for generations to come. It's amazing to me that this ha been allowed to go on as long as it has.
And I’m quite sure that Schumer knows that and that’s why he’s quite comfortable saying that Netanyahu must go. He depends on the ignorance of most people to not realize that the next guy is worse!

As Mr. Goldberg just said, no blood is cheaper than that of Palestinians. They have to suffer 1000's times more than anyone else just to get a raised eyebrow from Western leaders and media. Thankfully, global south is rising and it feels differently. Palestine will be free within our lifetime.

'" You take away somebody else's humanity for long enough, you lose your own" Beautiful words of truth spoken by you Ori Goldberg. Powerful words. It's the unbending law of sowing and reaping. What we give out we are asking to receive and will receive. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. It cannot be otherwise. There can be no peace and harmony in the world until each individual looks within and discovers the laws and power of energy. When we access our true divine nature, feel and own our power and experience the wonderful consequences of this and the joy of being able to give, then the world will know peace. What we do to others is what we do to ourselves. When we give out unconditional love and compassion, understanding, we will receive this. This does not mean that we must allow evil behaviour to continue and we don't take action to defend ourselves, but, we need to be able to discern that every being is created by the divine from the same divine energy. We have freedom to choose how we will invest our inner creative power. Will we choose peace, freedom, harmony , the path of truth and universal principles which leads to oneness or will we choose the path of ignorance and lack of self-knowledge which leads to the path of fear? When we come from fear we must then try and control everything and everyone around us. We believe that if we don't control others then we will be controlled. This is the path of egoic energy. We don't have to live this way. Through gaining self-knowledge through conscious awareness we can radiate the energy of giving, of being in control of ourselves and being able to give. This is the choice we are faced with in every moment. Which path will we choose? We have creative power, we can choose the world we want to live in. It starts in our consciousness. Bruce Barton said " Sometimes when I consider what tremendous consequences come from little things I am tempted to think, there are no little things"
The way Mr Goldberg describes the way Israelis see us Palestinians is chilling and very disturbing, I think it is rather obvious that there is no hope from witthin the Israeli society and I disagree with him when he thinks any real pressure will be applied from world powers to change anything

Ori’s point about Isrealis thinking they’re western reminds me of a conversation I had with an Isreali friend about 12 years ago. When I mentioned he was Middle Eastern he said “no we aren’t. I mean we live in the ME but we aren’t Arabs “ and then just sort of ended it there because he knew where that was going.
Wow.. listening to a conversation like this one cannot help but feel hopeful, there is undoubtedly a common humanity that can and must rise above hatred, it’s the only way forward I believe

In 2018 Israeli soldiers shot over 6,000 Palestinians. In many cases they were shot with illegal expanding ammunition. So, did the present iteration of this problem begin on 7th October 2023 (1,200 casualties) or March/Dec 2018 (6,000 casualties) Discus ??
Interesting question but one can always go farther back, can't one? All the way to Amalek if one wants. But that's so in all conflicts. Personally I mostly look at what both sides want and the Palestinian side is reasonable (a state, rights) and the Israeli is not (taking all it wants, bullying and still being the victim).
As a Serbian, I must confess I don't know a single soul here that approves the genocide being committed by Israel. Our people have been dying in droves since before WWI, we're slowly disappearing from the globe due to more people dying then being born for decades now (mostly caused by wartime casualties during WWI/WWII), and it's mind-boggling to even imagine anybody here approving of any such thing.. if any "politician" says otherwise, anybody reading this can always, without exception, regard those criminal barbarians running our country as spineless careerists and petty thieves that are absolutely not representative of anything 99% of our population thinks, feels, approves/disapproves. What is happening nowadays is unprecedented and will mark this century forever - it's a terrible stain on humanity, civilization and I cannot sleep in peace knowing people are being slaughtered anywhere, let alone in such a way and in such numbers, with such an attitude...
Ori is a discovery! I saw him interviewd on Al Jazeera just days after they were kicked out of Israel. It's sobering to hear his well-thought views on Israeli society from an insider. He gives us a glimmer of hope, though it may not be tomorrow. Bring him on the show again soon. Thanks much, Ori. You are very brave to speak out. 🙏
Thank you Orí Goldberg for your gentle and sensitively expressed insight into the Israeli mindset. I wonder how it is for people like yourself to live in Israel now?
"They just don't care. " One of the most valuable interviews I've heard. Real at a basic level of what the people of Israel think and believe. It is so hard to comprehend for those who care so deeply. Thanks Owen and Ori for talking about the human reasons beneath the horror. Shakes me to the core but needed to be heard to understand the other side, not agree, but understand. Palestine will be free and it will be the best thing ever for the whole world. Especially, 10000% for the Palestinians.
H offered three times to release hostages within the month after the invasion in return for cease fire, but N refused. It was never about the hostages. It was about the opportunity to cease more lands for beach houses for his friends in real estate companies.
The finance minister has publicly stated at least twice that the hostages are not a priority. That’s why the Israelis are not mad. As Ori said, they don’t care about the genocide.
Owen has touched on that subject quite a lot in other segments. This is a conversation about an Israeli perspective on the current war, not the whole history of Gaza.
So the west Europe can get oil and gas from Gaza. That's why they support Izrahell and boycott Russian oil and gas. I hope west Europe stay without any gas and oil.
This, for me, was one of the best interviews I've seen. Provided an insight into the Israeli psyche that's felt absent. Thanks to both and to all who support the channel and cause, for this interview to be possible. May peace one day have a place.
There have been many holocausts in the world but we only get to hear, over and over again about the 1940 -45 one. There have been many genocides too. Ditto and it’s because Israel is powerfully wealthy and money talks.

But at a moment of military might, Israel looks deeply vulnerable, All the pillars of Israeli security - deterrence, rapid warning and decisive victory - have collapsed in the current war, and whatever the outcome, the clear scenario is that Israel has entered the Gaza quagmire.” ~ Excerpt from the main article of The Economist, 03/23/2024

The question I wanted you to ask is how do you get Israelis to understand their own prejudice, how it denies Palestinians the right to the same benefits they have?
Perennial victims! perennial overlords! Best description I’ve ever heard. And yes what a concept: there are consequences to Israeli actions and there’s no such thing as a free lunch!
Ife total dehumanisation of Palestinians and hence a total indifference to their suffering is an integral part of the Israeli psyche, then it is a very sick society indeed .It willnot only need shock therapy from without(BDS), it will also need healing from within. The few brave NGO's like B'Tselem, Breaking the Silence and others are nowhere near enough considering how many deaf ears they fall on.
