It took me quite a while to create this one. I had to get familiar with Endorphin.es Shuttle System which is going to be the heart of my Spaceship case. I want to keep a close relationship with the Shuttle to keep this series interesting for existing owners but I am planning to convert it to separates for a 2x104 HP ecosystem and add the Queen and more utilities so I can use more of the Shuttle's waveforms and power.

"Additive synthesis" specifically is mixing waves at different harmonics to build a more complex tone. (Usually sines, but a drawbar organ or pipe organ can also be considered additive.) FM or waveshaping/distortion don't count as additive synthesis. (Unless using a "flat" algorithm like #32 on the DX7, where every operator is a carrier.)

OMG, a technician. Yes, adding harmonics to a fundamental is also additive. Adding two or more sinewaves is additive. Even waveshaping is adding something instead of filtering it away. We wouldn't have squares, saws and triangles without it. So everything I've learned at sound theory is wrong. FM doesn't count? Damn...

@@CinematicLaboratory I admit I'm being pedantic here. But yes, while FM and waveshaping are processes that add harmonics, "additive synthesis" is a specific technique involving mixing oscillators in parallel. It's like how "complex oscillator" refers to oscillators like the Buchla 259, DPO, FG, Hertz Donut etc. and not just any oscillator that makes complex shapes.

@@CinematicLaboratory there’s always gonna be someone criticizing lol someone had to tell me on one of my videos a cycling maths envelope is a lfo and is technically not a envelope.

@@Starthief Thanks for clearing that out, much appreciated. I am not that technical, just making music :). But do we agree that the FG is capable of doing additive synthesis (because that was the point)? I'm pretty sure the top knob of the waveshaper section adds harmonics.

@@Derrick_Evans Fortunately they call it a 'function', that's also why these ∫ integral symbols are on it. But technically LFO's are very slow waveforms. So technically it's an envelope because it involves a rise/fall stage. LFO's can't do that. So I'd say you were right :). DPO can do a real LFO.
