Tarrytown Fire Department is bringing back their tradition with “The Queen”, their #Enforcer #Pumper. 👑
In homage to their department’s tradition of naming their apparatus, ‘The Queen’, they included several graphics to honor their department’s history and traditions. Their department is first due to the New York State Throughway, so a speedy dry hopper within the compartment in front of the driver’s side rear wheel was added. Due to numerous multi-story buildings and offices in #TarrytownNY, the compartment above the officer’s side rear wheel will be a dedicated high-rise compartment.

It's awesome to see an 8-seat cab again. Our 1999 RP was the last one & now we exclusively have 6-seaters.

Here’s why I disagree with the safety of a top mount pump panel. The district I worked at ww had 2 pumpers with top mount pump panels. We had two major highways and the busiest interchange in the state. If the engineer is at the pump panel and the truck is hit from the rear the engineer will be slammed into the back of the cab. Secondly the engineers were senior firefighters so you had to climb up and down to get equipment off the truck. Yes there is some advantages to top mount panels over all sight.

I watch NYFD i must say that you have excellent fire trucks but fire men need to be trained on most call outs or shouts we call it in lreland takes about 15 mins to get a hose line up and runing also 20 min for a full ladder pump to go up attached for a ladder Pump
