While Christina's version is powerful and remarkable with high notes , Yifei's is soft and soothing like water flowing to deep down inside They are both emotional and amazing in their own way... P/s: Thanh you with all the likes, This is the first time I have so many likes 👏

This girl is really talented. She knows how to sing and dance cause she used to be a pop artists. She also knows martial arts or kung fu, she knows sword fighting, she knows horse back riding, she act so well, and she used to be called the most beautiful Chinese actress back then. She knows many languages. Her future husband is very lucky, its a pity she broke up with her Korean actor boyfriend or else that man will be one of the most luckiest man in the world.

For those who didn’t know there was even a Chinese version. I recommend searching up the mandarin version of the old Mulan and there is also a Cantonese version. Oh Jackie Chan sang both the mandarin version and Cantonese version of “I’ll make a man out of you”

The mandarin version's title of Reflection is “自己” - direct translation to English is "Self", I think it's another good name for reflection as well

I really love this version, seeing how Liu Yifei sings reflection when she is the one who acts the character Mulan ❤❤❤

At first I didn't knew why the viewer ratings were so low, so I was curious to see this movie for myself. Then I discovered that most user ratings were politically motivated, and nothing but anti-china bots, with nonsensical reasons to make this movie look bad. In that regard they failed their purpose, because its free publicity and it made me actually wanting to see the movie even more. After watching the movie myself, I can truly say it was beautifully made! The movie had good build up, majestically filmed. Yifei as Mulan was charismatic and her charms added depth to the character Mulan. She sometimes speaks volumes without saying anything, and when she does say something its meaningful, those are rare qualities of an actor. At times it gave me goosebumps to finally see a live action version of Mulan, I have to admit I had to wipe some occasional tears away throughout the movie. Yifei companions were funny and their camaraderie was heartfelt. Fun fact: Honghui was historically the love interest of Mulan, not Shang Li from the animated movie ;-) Even though without the musical songs that made the animated version popular, but there were enough references to the animation throughout the movie that did honor to the animated version. All the actors were great and solid, especially the father played by Tzi Ma was convincing as a caring and inspirational father to Mulan in such a short timespan of character development. Sad fact: Historically Mulan fought a war campaign of 12 years. She never did get to see her father again, because when she got home her father already died of old age. Traumatized by warfare, Mulan never became her old self, and she committed suicide, hoping she could reunite with her father in the afterlife being that carefree loving daughter again.... The encounter with the Witch (Xin Liang) played by Gong Li was superbly done. I think the witch might even have been a metaphor for Mulans inner fears. It was so poetically well executed. I am glad Jetli got to do some of his last few action sequences, as Jetli is suffering from returning illnesses, the reason why he doesn't do much action nowadays. Bori Khans character is the equivalent of Shan Yu in the animated version, and is in the live action more fleshed out as to what his motivations were for attacking the kingdom, that was a nice touch. Also nice references to chinese Wuxia genre, where lifeforce and chi are prominent for martial art masters. For the people that missed Mushu, there is a reference of a phoenix though that helped Mulan, and in chinese folklore phoenix represents a woman. I recommend this movie highly for the fans of the original anime and for people who are new to the story of Mulan. For me it was A well worthy tribute to both the legendary chinese folklore story Mulan aswell as the orginal disney animated version!

Why did they leave this out?! They totally missed representing Mulan's emotional side which was such an important trait that made her..

A lot of people said she kinda made a bland Mulan. I beg to differ. I really think she brought her to life. When she cried, struggled, and realized within herself what she needed to do and trusted herself as Mulan, I felt all of it. In her eyes, in her subtle actions, when she smiled, I felt it all too. Especially with the scenes with her dad. Thank you for your hard work for this wonderful character.

People are ungrateful. They watched the movie for free in youtube and facebook then they keep on criticizing.. 🤦‍♀️ Their critics cannot pay the efforts of the production they gave to give us a beautiful movie. Yes, animated one is the original but we have to expect that it is really different from live action. The concept and main story was there, they just alter some but the main story remains. And all the actors and productions have done great so far. Kudos to Mulan. And thank you for giving a good movie though I've watched it for free since its covid. Still thanks 😊

Comparing this with Coco Lee's version, I'm sorry to say that...... THIS VERSION IS BETTER. It's much more meaningful when the actress is the same person singing the song. As the shot switches between the show and her singing, it keeps bringing to my mind the same ladies' feature with her slightly frowned eyebrows, and her demure feature shown through her gentle eyes. Her unassuming voice does NOT use any acrobatic style to impress, yet her gentle vocal rendition acts as a balancing tool to complement the strong words of the chinese version. She shows herself to be both gentle and strong at the same times while singing the Chinese version. It's acts as a double bonus, with the film also depicting her gentleness and strength. The orchestra is good. I like the conductor, how he coordinates the western instruments with the single Chinese instrument Erhu. I like the setting of the studio, where the strong orchestra acts as backup on the background. I loved the way the harp was played. I enjoyed it when they started to drum the strings of the viola or violin. I like the mix of Asian and Western people on the crew. The final parts was also emotional, as the music quiet down and the lighting dims in synchrony.

RIP composer Jerry Goldsmith I'm sure he would be proud one of his best themes, he also wrote very good Japanese music in film called "the challenge 1982"
