- Sankisei (3th gen) debut (June 2019) - Azur Lane collab (November 2019) Before Sankisei debut, the only one is famous i think is Fubuki and Aqua, both famous in especially China, or i think hololive only big in China in early days

Holo start to famous in japan from 3rd gen because Pekora and Marine. and become famous to overseas from 4th gen from Kiryu Coco, then many clip about Elite Miko and other member keep coming to make us fall to rabbit hole, I guess.

Not saying they didnt work hard for it but dont forget that Hololive is as popular as it is now because it got attention from the rest of the world. Japanese otaku knew about Hololive and vtubers in general from day 1. Meaning that it really only got popular when people overseas found out about them too. So if you are a oversea fan of Hololive you can consider yourself a big part of their success too.

I'm always curious how much money these folks make. I mean i know they can't tell us, and i expect its probably
@harfi212
@harfi212 3 года назад
Lets just say they get around 40 to 50% from total superchat. That already including youtube, cover and goverment cut. Popular member like fubuki get another income from sponsorship, merch and appearing on tv show. Basically they have the same income like real life celebrity.
@davidh8271
@davidh8271 3 года назад
@@harfi212 I really doubt it's anywhere near 50%, just going by how much admin work is needed and stuff like that, and how companies like to make money. Besides, the sponsorships are negotiated through Cover corp too, so i'm sure they take a cut. I mean it's all speculation anyway, since they almost certainly can't tell us how much they get from the donations. I guess they do well enough, since Coco bought a $9k bed, and they all seem perfectly able to live in their own place if they want to, etc.

It's a combination. They do have a base salary (though it's pretty low), the main source of income comes from personal earnings things like sc's, memberships, page monitization, merch, music, sponsorships,ect. ( I.e. The more popular you are, the more opportunities you take= the more you get) after cover, youtube, whoever else takes their cut. The pay structure of which is that it all goes to cover and is doled out as their monthly payment.

a rought estimate of yen to dollars is to remove 2 0's. so 100,000 yen ~= $1,000
