98 octane mixed with motul800 at 2.5%. Coolant was perfect level. We suspect air getting into the head somehow.

@@rich_dolan Ack! So frustrating. In the US most fuel pump gas is E10, or 10% ethanol, which is stupid. I have to seek out non-ethanol 93 octane (US PON, which is equivalent to EU 98 octane RON). I also use AMSOIL SABER oil rather than motul for reasons I am not qualified to wax poetic. Hopefully replacing your seals will help stay the course!

I’ve been releasing the chase cam on a pulley or pulling it in. At one point it did break off the pulley so had to go round in a circle pulling it in so it wouldn’t hit the prop 😳 A go fund me something I’ve been thinking more and more about with increasing costs 😅

We’ve got it replaced and are on our way 😁

It certainly has!! We’ve got replacements for the work in Turkey so we can keep going.

Also, sometimes it is easier to weld the piston hole than to find a suitable piston spare, if the rest of the piston is OK.

I’d disagree about it being the same glory, this thing would certainly be easier with a support vehicle but this we were guaranteed an adventure!

@@rich_dolan, with all respect I disagree with your disagreement, man! :) Look at it this way: 1) You would fly the same distance, unattended in the air. Faster, much safer, less hussle. Ground support would check the landing for you in advance, set a windsock, get a lunch prepared... (_and coffee!_) Even be someone to talk to. And they would take more video of your flight/takeoff/landing to add to your beautiful footage! 2) You are now getting support anyway: cars, accomodation, fuel, repairs. It doesn't matter from the "official record" POW who do you get help from. Either getting help or not - that would have been matter. Now it doesn't much. I don't mean to spoil or question your achievement, man! This is awsome! Also meeting such super-friendly people! Just next time get a friend or two with a car as a dedicated ground support. Cheer up your other pilot - he seems not that excited - shit happens, especially with paramotors. (Just yesterday a friend of mine got a similar hole in his piston during our flight :( - this is most likely a shitty fuel we getting more and more often, "bioaddings", etc... fcuk ) Lend your partner a bit of your beautiful "nomatter what" smiling! I'm with you! Best!

Australia has our back! The people are working overtime 😅

It was very difficult! We kept changing altitude based on wind strength and conditions. Some days we could get above the cloud to avoid the turbulence, other days we’d have to land because it was starting to get dangerous. We basically took all the windows we could while keeping our safety a priority

Haha I have a release pulley so it doesn’t hit the prop on landing. It ended up in my lap because the pulley failed and I had to fly around in circles trying to pull it back in so it didn’t hit the prop mid air 😂 I’ve had nothing but problems trying to get chase cam footage
